Reboot and bang!!!! (N200)
I was planning on installing xp with my vista for a dual boot system, so i created the partition, the software asked to reboot to finish the partition, so i let it do so, it restarted and the screen remained black, it continued like this for a couple of days, then i left the laptop for 4 days while i was away in london, i rturned and opened the laptop and miraculously and very stranegly (because no one had used it or even powered it up) it booted so i instantly went to a full factory restore, this worked perfectly by the looks of it, i then installed my usuall software and rebooted and its back to the black screen again.

I have a late 2012 iMac with an I5 precessor running OSX 10.8.5 and a 1tb internal hard drive. I keep losing access to the internal hard drive/startup disk.
I can reboot and everything operates as normal for a few minutes or hours but then I lose all access again to anything on the hard drive. The computer is still up and running but no files can be accessed and certain websites cannot be acessed even though internet access appears to be normal. Disk utility can only find permission errors related to iTunes which can be repaired only to come back at the next scan (I would not think permission errors would have anything to do with the hard drive crashing). It does not seem to matter what program I am using at the time access is lost and it can lose access sometimes right after reboot when no program is running.You will need to boot into the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during restart and select it) to run Disk Utility/Disk Repair.

My iPad (version 1, IOS 5.1) has quit connecting with the store. I am unable to update or buy any app. I did a reboot and a reset with deleting the data. I can not find anything in support for this problem. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada and when I try to use Siri it loads and loads and then says, "I'm really sorry about this, but I can't take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while."
I rebooted and it didn't fix the problem. I just got my iPhone 4s (unlocked right from Apple) several weeks ago.Siri has been a bit more erratic than usual in the last week or so. Apple has announced a major announcement for 9/12. Conclusions are left to the reader.

I created a newsletter using pages on my IPAD 3. All of a sudden I can no longer open that document. When I click on it, it throws me out of pages all together. I can open other pages documents, but not that one. It is very frustrating to be able to SEE the file, but not open it.
I rebooted and I do have icloud back-up on but am not sure how to restore an older version. I also made sure there are no updates for pages. Until the IPAD I used a home PC which I still have but am trying to wean myself off of. I wish now I had used MS Publisher on my PC for the newsletter even though I hate it.
Please don't tell me I have lost my Newsletter and 20 hours worth of work.Try resetting your iPad. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for 7 or 8 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
I'm assuming your default is to save Pages documents to iCloud, and that you had a good WiFi connection when you closed Pages the last time you tried to save the document. -
Updated iPad 1 to IOS 5. When trying to restore my iPad from my backup it gets half way through and the iPad reboots and iTunes says "An error occurred while restoring this iPad (-1)"
I have tried to restore my contacts and company data at least 20 times and every time half way through THE iPAD REBOOTS! When it boots back up it is at the brand new iPad screen.
This makes me angry as I do not use the iPad for fun and games. I use it for business. My company data and records for the last year are gone. ALL of my out standing customer invoices are gone. ALL payments received are gone! ALL Business contacts and emails ARE GONE! All my company, personal email accounts and settings ARE GONE!
What am I supposed to do now? In 6 hours I have to get on the road and conduct business with a empty blank factory out of the box iPad. How am I supposed to know who owes me money or who has paid their bills Apple? All of my meetings and calendar dates are GONE!
Everything was supposed to be backed up and restored after the update!
Question???WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS UPDATE WIPE OUT ALL SETTINGS AND APPS ON THE iPAD??? All the other updates left everything on the iPad intact and ONLY upgraded the IOS,and when it was done everything was still there.
Yes! I have done everything. Rebooted computer, checked for updates, Hard booted iPad, Factory restored iPad to ios 5 twice, tried every usb port I have, unplugged all other usb components.
Everytime half way through "Restoring iPad from backup..." The iPad turns off shows a spinning circle then shows the Apple logo and takes me to the brand new iPad setup screen.
Apple, you have no idea the level of stress you have created today.....Check the console app to see if there are any error messages. I had one app showing an issue (Pet Hotel) the error was (truncated):

I manually snyc'ed that particular app and then re-ran the restore and am now the proud owner of a working iphone. Not sure it is the same problem or app but looking in the console was the key! -

i have 10.8.2 mountain lion, just did a reboot and pulled my original user from my back up back into the new system, opened a new user profile that is the same name as the one i had backed up.
now i cant open up anything in Iworks 09... or anything inb microsoft office 2011, plus i can open garage band.... i used time machine retore to retrieve those apps... but they come up with errors
any ideas other than trying to reinstall thses.? -
When I try and open Microsoft Word 2011 documents on my IMAC they start opening one after another at a rapid speed and I can't stop it. I reboot and same thing happens. The documents open in rapid succession on their own and don't stop until I force close or after maybe 100 or more open I start getting the following message for each document attemting to open "This document could not be registered. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document" and then in paretheses the name of the document. After I click okay another trys to open. Any suggestions?
If you had multiple documents open and quit the app without closing all of the docs first, it will open them again when you launch the app. Open Word, and then close all the documents, you may be asked to save the document, if the document was already saved but you made changes to it before you quit the app, you may need to save the changes first, shorcut ( command and s keys). After you close all of the documents then quit the app and restart the computer. See if this works.

From pages on a mbp running 10.9.1, pages 5.0.1 does not sync automatically to iCloud after a doc is created and saved. I have rebooted and reset all devices.

What exactly do you mean by 'it doesn't save'.
Does this mean it doesn't save at all, doesn't save to the iCloud folder or doesn't sync with other the devices or iCloud.com. -

My Mac Pro 2008 no boot afther the Logo Apple, reboot, reboot and reboot only, and in XP, the graphic is pertubed with bad graphics ... the mémory it's good, and i thinks my card graphic is out. Not saying this IS your problem, but … I just went through avery similar problem with Mac Pro3,1. Here is my story.
On boot of any Mac OP system drive, internal or externalHDD, (Lion or Snow Leopard), original Mac Pro install CD, Snow Leopard CD,nothing. (Would only go to gray screen,apple logo, spinning gear that would stop spinning after about a minute.) But, it would boot on XP drive. However, in XP, on Windows black startupscreen, had alternating columns of two different patters of blue dots and XPgraphics were not as they should be (larger icons on desk top, slow response,different size of desk top (maybe 600x400 when it should have been1024x768). Supplied hardware test showedno failures. Took it to shop. Their better diagnostics showed nofailures. All peripherals (my drives, myCDs, etc, disconnected. (NOTE: they didnot try a new video card since they did not have one.) Still would not start even using their drives(external or internal). Shop tried a newlogic board. That did not work and theyput the original one back in. Shop saidall they could come up with was new processors. This was not a cost effective option and they had none to try.
After thinking about it more, I figured it could be thevideo card: the original 8800 GT that came with the Mac: that it was so bad itwould not start in Mac OS but would limp along in XP. I was all set to buy another vid card one-bay just to try. While doing thatresearch, came across several articles on the Internet that discussed vid cardfailure due to micro-cracks in some solder joints. These develop due to age/heat cycles. The proposed fix was to ‘reflow’ the solder. Figured it was worth a try before spendingthe money on a new vid card. Found thesedetailed instructions on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7um_hZYom4 I followed the procedure, put the vid cardback in, and now it works just fine.
I did not and would not do this until I had ruled outeverything else. But, it has worked forothers and it did work for me. -
My iMac has a blank screen showing an icon with a blinking question mark. I have rebooted and still the same. Any ideas?
Mac OS X: Gray screen appears during startup BTW, iOS info is useless, post machine and OS version specifics.

Seems like a silly question but I had an appointment at my local apple store about a start up issue, ran some tests and passed them which was fine.
After this, I was left to reboot my mac and basically transfer files from my harddrive onto my macbook. However, I couldn't choose the files to be transferred and so I went with the reboot and the startup issue I initially had was fixed, although I need the files from my hardrive to be transfered onto my mac.
There are backups and documents I need.I'm not sure I understand, but are you asking how to copy files from your external drive? Open two Finder windows. In one find the files you want to transfer, in the other where you want to put them. Select the file and drag it over.

Itunes will not open. I click onto the icon and it does nothing. I've uninstalled it twice and still nothing. Rebooted and nothing. I plug my iphone as well as my ipod and still nothing happens. Help please.
I, too, am having a serious problem with my iTunes.
It shows that iTunes is taking up usage on my computer but there is no error message when I try to open it. Nothing even happens. iTunes does not come up and I am searching for a possible answer.
We recently had a power outage but we got power back Sunday and when we did iTunes stopped working. Before this incident iTunes usually worked and when it didn't a simple re-start was used to fix it. However now I have tried that several times and it is not working.

iPad Air

I've had no success troubleshooting the problem I'm having with my iPad Air. Started after I updated the software to the new version . Once update was complete I encountered my screen looked funny with wiggly lines and then the screen turned blue. I tried to reboot it by holding down the home and the off at the same time but that only turned it off and then back on and the same thing happened all over again. Now my iPad air only continues to reboot when I turn it on. Is it possible for Apple or Mac products to get a virus? I'm hope someone has a solution to this problem I'd like to know if there's anyone else out there that's experiencing this issue with the iPad Air.This is not a virus. It sounds like it could be a hardware problem.
First, try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. Release the buttons, then press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. This is the equivalent of a reboot, and should not affect your data or apps.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your device from backups, and if that doesn't help, restore it to factory settings (ie, do not restore a backup). See:

If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.

Fix/set incorrect date&time on wrt600n
is there anyway to fix the current date/time on the router? i've tried changing the time zones a few times thinking that this might do it, but it doesn't help. the current system time is just a LITTLE off... Firmware Version: 1.01.36 build 4_200805
