Reboot & blue screen!

Last night, I played sims 3 for the first time & after a while, after my sims were watching TV (i don't know if it's important or not), but after that, the screen flickered & went black & kept showing the game, and then it din't & finally it rebooted.
I checked the system requirements onsystemrequirementslab and it said My CPU can't handle it at all. This is what it said.
CPU
Minimum: (XP) 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent; (Vista) 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent [If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent].
You Have: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 450 @ 2.20GHz
CPU Speed
Minimum: (XP) 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent; (Vista) 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent [If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.]You Have: 2.19 GHz
I've been wondering what that means.
1st question: Could anyone please tell me what all that gibberish means?
Like, explain it to me. Like, what's a chipset & etc.
2nd question: If I need to buy a new CPU,
Can i just go into best buy & tell them I only need the CPU
or do I have to buy the monitor & speakers & keyboard & mouse as well?
I've been looking at CPU 's and think maybe a  Dell inspiration Desktop w/Intel Core 2 Duo Processing E7400 will be ok?
PLEASE please please help.
I've been waiting for this game for 5 months & it makes me heartbroken that I might not even be able to play it without making my computer screwed up. ''/

What brand and model is your computer? Looking at what you posted your CPU should not be the issue. But to break down what you posted:
CPU
Minimum if running Windows XP would be 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
Minimum if running Windows Vista would be 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
[If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent]. Some systems ship without a dedicated video card which is what does all the calculations for the game and does the rendering on the screen for you. For systems that ship without this card they use a less effective built-in video card that rather being dedicated to doing nothing but graphics has to share time with your CPU which is why you need a faster CPU when a computer has built in graphics.
You Have: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 450 @ 2.20GHz This is what process you have in your computer at the moment.
CPU SpeedMinimum if running Windows XP would be 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
Minimum if running Windows Vista would be 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent [If built-in graphics chipsets then 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.]
You Have: 2.19 GHz This is doing nothing more then telling you how fast your CPU is running.
If i had to guess I would say you are running a built in GPU. You would probably be best just upgrading to a dedicated video card.

  • HELP Iphone 5s random reboots, blue screen reboot and now stuck at black apple screen.

I recently purchased a iphone 5s and after about 2 weeks it has started to randomly reboot. It then progressed to rebooting with a blue screen. Attempting to fix the problem I connected the iphone to my computer which told me the backup was corrupt. As I attemped to delete old backup my phone rebooted to a black screen with a bunch of white writing saying things like panic. I have attempted to hard boot the phone many times and it will not go past the black screen with the apple logo. Please help.

Nothing happened, i managed to get my computer to recognise it and now restoring... but it says 3 hours remaining?! Will i lose everything?

  • Blue screen iPhone 5S reboots several times daily only at work

I experience blue screen of death only at work but I'm connecting to a broadband Internet Wi-Fi network even while I'm at work.  I'm not connecting to the work wi-fi networks (used 'forget this network').
Simply, the presence of these networks causes my iPhone 5S to reboot 5 to 10 times a day.
This issue does NOT occur at home using wi-fi or anywhere else with wi-fi but it happens each and every day while at work.
The work Wi-Fi infrastructure is Cisco (again, I'm not even connecting to those).
I have 7.0.4 installed on iPhone 5S (it's slate gray, not sure if this occurs with other colors... a little humor).
If I turn off Wi-Fi while at work, the iPhone does NOT reboot.
At home, no issues with Wi-Fi but I have to remember to turn it on when I get home each day.
Issue did NOT happen on iPhone 5 with iOS 7.  Issue has occured on iPhone 5S with each version of iOS 7 since the day I received the iPhone 5S.

    Jota,
What brand/model of wifi router do you use at home?  At work (where I am experiencing this issue) we have Cisco wifi access points and we have one Netgear WNDR450 (N900) router.  The Netgear router is connected to a Cable modem circuit for commercial broadband/Internet access and the Cisco routers are connected to our internal company infrastructure.  The Netgear router uses the 5GHz 802.11n whereas the Cisco's are 2.4GHz (also 802.11n).
With this configuration, the iPhone reboots (blue screen) several times daily.  This only occurs in this environment.
How is your environment set up?

  • Random Blue Screen Crash with 5S and iOS 8.1

Since upgrading to iOS 8.0 my iPhone 5S randomly gets blue screens and then crashes and goes into a loop of boot up, blue screen, reboot, blue screen, reboot...etc. My 5S did this again today when during my upgrade to iOS 8.1 via USB and I was forced to do a factory restore on it. The blue screen is still occurring after the restore and 8.1 upgrade. Is this a known issue? I was hoping this was going to get fixed with 8.1 but unfortunately, it doesn't look like it has.

    Same here,
yesterday i updated my 6 plus 64gb with iTunes.
After the update, my phone crashes (blue screen) in games (Maze Runner) and Safari.
I tried to downgrade to ios 8.0 because i didn't had any problem with 8.0 but iTunes says that the file is not valid "iPhone7,2_8.0_12A365_Restore"

  • Blue Screen Woes

On a restart today, the dreaded endless "blue screen" appeared. Here's what I have done to attempt a recovery:
Booted using Safe Mode - blue screen
Booted into Single User - nothing modified in the fsck -fy check, on the reboot - blue screen
Booted with Leopard DVD>Disk Utility. Smart status of HD - Verified; Repaired Permissions - nothing unusual noted; Repaired Disk - no errors
Booted from External Clone - 10.4.11 - booted without issue. The iBooks HD showed up in the Finder with access to the drive. As a test, I moved some files to a partition on the External with no problem.
Rebooted to the iBook - Blue Screen
Ran Disk Warrior - no problems noted
If the Logic Board on the iBook were suspect, then I gather I would not be able to boot the Clone. Is that correct? If the HD were problematic, it seems Disk Warrior would note problems with the HD, or I would not be able to access HD files when booted in the Clone.
Before I attempt a reinstall of Leopard, I want to explore what other options I may have available.
    Appreciate any feedback. Mahalo.

Thanks for the references. I've already seen the Apple document. Didn't apply here, as I've been running Leopard on this machine for about a month with no problems.
The only two oddities before the Blue Screen initially appeared: Ran the Apple updates for iWork and iWeb. Nothing unusual in the updates. Plus plugged in the USB receiver to my Logitech Wireless mouse (no kernel panic, mouse seemed to function without issue guided by SteerMouse).
PRAM (5 chimes for good measure ) did not help.
I spoke with Apple Care. Basically, I already did the various steps they would suggest other than Archive and Install. Given the Smart Status showed as "verified" and the HD appeared in the Finder when booted from the external, they think a reinstall will resolve the problem. Doing that now. I'll post back and let you know if that worked. Was hoping to avoid the reinstall, however, seems this is the only recourse short of replacing the drive.
Thanks again for the input. Appreciate it.

  • K8N neo Platinum Win XP SP2 random system crashes/Blue screen

I have recently built a new pc with the items as listed in my signature.  Some of the compontents were new (RAM, HDD and VIdeo) and some were second hand (CPU, M/B, Keyboard and Mouse).   I found that when I install WIN XP the system seems ok.  But after I install any SP1 or SP2  which are required to run the USB2.0 my system crashes randomly and I get a windows blue screen and an auto restart.  in the last week it sometimes lasts a day or so then it crashes.  Other times it will crash within 5 minutes of start-up.  I found a forum topic about a similar problem the other day but when I went looking for it again I couldn't find that topic.  In that topic there were comments about PSU's and their ability to run the K8N Neo Platinum.  In my specs are my PSU details.  Can anyone advise if my PSU may be the problem or if there is any other problem.
I have made a WIN XP boot disk with SP1 and I have an SP2 disk I was given by a PC shop.  If you are able to help or need further info to be able to help please let me know.

  • Ipod + itunes = blue screen of death & reboot - HELP PLEASE!

I'll try to make a long story as short as possible here.
i've had a 40G ipod for over a year and a half now. back in the beginning things were working fine. with the size i hadn't done any syncing for a long long time. however, the ipod crapped out so i got a replacement from the apple store.
after registering the new ipod i was having trouble syncing. it would upload a few hundred songs and then freeze or cause a reboot. i uninstalled the ipod software as well, installed the latest itunes software - over the previous version, installed the latest ipod updater software and restored the ipod.
again, i was able to sync for brief periods in 3 different tries - amassing a whole six hundred and something songs. after each try itunes said syncing was complete (but not even close - had just over 2000 mp3s looking to sync up). unbelievably things got worse. now, if the ipod is docked and itunes is running - regardless of which is done first - my pc will get the blue screen of death and reboot itself.
also, without itunes and the ipod docked, it shows up as an i: drive, but when i try to browse it though my computer, it locks up the machine and shows nothing.
any help out there is GREATLY appreciated!
    here are my specs:
    - ipod 40 Gig, with click wheel and four buttons below the screen with
    dock & firewire cable
    - pc running windows xp pro
    - firewire card with 3 ports
    - ipod & itunes software located on 120G c: drive
    - mp3 collection located on secondary 160G d: drive
    - 3/4 gig of ram
p.s. i have mcafee running and i've tried everything with it on as well as off. doesn't seem to make a difference.
also, i have checked a TON of posts on apple.com as well as other discussion groups and couldn't find an answer.

    hi Douglas!
first promise me that you'll back up your data. having your PC shut down in non-standard ways (for
    b any
reason) increases your risk of file corruption and putting scruffy spots on your hard drive.
Now some basic first aid. download some fresh definitions and do some vigorous virus and spyware scans. run your favorite hard-disk checking utility. do a disk cleanup.
now let's follow up on the blue screen of death. Perversely, i've started to become pleased when people report BSODs under these circumstances. we can wring a lot of information from a BSOD error message. there's also usually something concrete to go on in the error logs.
    (1) what BSOD error number and message are you getting? here's a reference:
    http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
    (2) squeeze your error logs for all they're worth. right-click on "My Computer", select manage. click on your event viewer. click on your application and system logs, and look for errors and warnings happening at roughly the same time as your crashes.
click on the relevant warnings to see if you can find any commonalities in the errors/warnings. follow up the Help and Support links to see if you can find any suggested "User action" or relevant MS KB documents. (sometimes these things are there, sometimes they aren't.)
    good luck! keep us posted.
    love, b

  • App crashes 30+ times/day - BLUE SCREEN APPEARS - system reboots

    HELP!
I purchased a new Macbook Pro about 1.5 months ago, and am running PowerCADD (I work at an architecture firm). No problems on any of the other computers running 10.4, but for some reason my PowerCADD application crashes about 30 times or more per day! *NO ERROR LOG IT JUST GIVES ME A BLUE SCREEN, THEN REBOOTS THE COMPUTER.* All of my information is lost everytime it does this and it is very frustrating. I called PowerCADD and they were very surprised and had not seen this before.
They suggested ARCHIVE and INSTALL, they said that Apple might not have installed 10.5 properly. Any suggestions?????????
    thank you

Before doing an archive & instal there are other steps that might help. As this is a problem with a 3rd-party application Apple are usually interested in problems that might be their end of the problem and they usually cooperate well with other software providers in trying to resolve problems.
    1) Open Disk Utility from Applications/Utilities. Select your hard drive and run Repair permissions. If there is a list of ...is...should be... followed by 'Permissions repaired re-run this process until there are no further repairs needed. See whether this resolves the problem.
    2) If not, insert the original installation dvd and restart holding the C key until you see the Apple logo. In the first screen after loading is finished select language, then at the next screen go to Tools/Disk Utility. Again select your hard drive but this time choose Repair Disk. If any faults are found and repaired re-run this until no further faults are found. Also re-run repair permissions if faults were found. Restart and see how it goes.
    3) Check the PowerCADD website for updates and their support for any compatibility issues. If they have a discussion page check this to see whether there are any problems with Leopard.
Failing all this you could then try the archive and instal option.

  • After upgrading to Lion blue screen appears at start up have to reboot to log in

I have been having issues when I first downloaded and installed Lion it installed then when it rebooted a blue screen would appear and nothing would happen. I rebooted the system and it came up. Now I installed the latest software update and the same thing happend did the same steps. Yesterday I had to boot my computer up twice for it to get to the lion login screen.  I have called apple and their resolution is to wipe out and restore from time machine.  Has anyone else seen this issue?

Sounds like directory damage of some sort. A few options.
    1) Buy Diskwarrior. Probably the premier tool for directory repair. There's a download version but it needs to be run from a booted drive which it seems you don't have. You can wait for delivery of the disc which will allow you to boot from the disc and run the application.
    2) Buy an external firewire hard drive. Get one big enough for future backup use. Meanwhile, install a new version of the operating system on that drive, boot from the drive and see if you can even see the files on the main rive. If directory damage isn't too bad you may be able to copy critical ones, though the problem with directory damage is you don't know if you're copying a damaged file. That's when just getting Diskwarrior first may just make more sense.
OSX doesn't let you make a bootable disc just by copying files onto a CD the way OS9 used to. There's a utility called CloneX that does this, but I haven't tried it. Usually what you can do is clone hte internal drive to an external drive as part of backup. The cloning places a bootable copy of the OS onto the external. Simply dragging OS files across no longer works.
By the way, the external drive has to be Firewire in order for it to be boootable. USB is okay for backup but you can't use it to boot an older computer in an emergency (new Macs are okay).

  • Blue Screen + Spotlight error message... I can't reboot!

    Hi All,
Upon startup, iMac with 2+GB RAM running OS X 10.5.6 does the following:
    1. Normal startup chime
    2. Blue screen appears
    3. Spotlight error message "Spotlight quit unexpectedly"
I can't reboot, or boot in Safe Mode or launch Disk Utility from DVD and obviously I can't reinstall Leopard
    I'm really frustrated

If you're really holding down those keys immediately after pressing the power button, yet they don't behave as expected, you may have some sort of hardware problem.
Do you have access to another keyboard that you could try?
How is that keyboard connected to your iMac? Your iMac probably has three USB ports. I'd try the keyboard in each of them in turn.

    Hello jared1915
If you are stuck in that loop, the next step would be to restore your iPhone. Check out the article below to get your iPhone into recovery-mode and restore it in iTunes.

  • Blue Screen Crash Running Windows Update on Reboot

I installed Windows 7 and Boot Camp Support Software. Installation went smoothly and no problems. When I run Windows Update, it requires a system reboot; however, each time I boot into the Windows partition, I get the dreaded blue screen of death. Then on reboot, Windows runs startup repair and restores the last installation. I think the problem might be that I am installing too many updates at a single time but not sure if it's something to do with the Boot Camp partition. I deleted the Windows partition and reinstalled Boot Camp but the problem persists. Windows 7 works fine, but can't seem to install updates.

Did you get the Apple drivers installed off your OS X DVD?
Is that what you mean by "reinstalled Boot Camp" ?
Did you get Apple Software Update (in Windows of course) up to Boot Camp 3.2?
Try getting those installed before Windows updates more.
No need to 'delete' Windows partition, just do a custom clean format and install what you meant?
No need to deal with Boot Camp Assistant again, all that does is set aside and create a partition to begin with.

  • LR Mobile sync caused iPad mini to crash continuously and reboot with blue screen?

    Hi,
I've been using LR Mobile on my iPad Mini (Retina) for quite sometime now without any issues. It worked flawlessly, until yesterday.
I'm not sure whether this problem was caused by the LR Mobile app or not but this was my experience.
Begin syncing a LR Catalog file (760 photos, needed 1.6 GB of space on my iPad). Sync and download was in progress. (I enabled the offline edit option).
After like 10 minutes, I checked my iPad to see the sync status and it crashed and restarted by itself.
After it booted, I opened LR Mobile and bang.... it crashed again.
This happened several times and I also begin to get the blue screen of death on the iPad.
Finally, it booted properly and I opened LRM and begin to re-sync. Things went smoothly.
I had to cancel the sync (around 650 photos were synced) as I had to rush to work and the sync process was taking too long (it took me like 3 hours to sync the 650 photos as the iPad would go into sleep and the sync process would stop. Plus the iPad was crashing and rebooting in between the sync process and caused a loss of time).
Anyhow, on the way to work I opened LRM and begin working on the images. Everything seemed fine.
Just an hour ago, when I unlocked my iPad and wanted to work on the images, it crashed again. This time it went in a reboot cycle and the screen went bonkers - got the blue screen, and weird visual distortions of the apple logo, and other unusual visual effects begin to occur. I thought the iPad was gone for, as it went off and wouldn't even restart. (I even tried doing a hard reset - Home + Sleep/Wake buttons).
Finally when it booted and restarted on its own, I immediately deleted the LR Mobile app and restarted the iPad.
It's been like 2 hours now and the iPad's working fine.
Did anyone experience similar issues like this? Or is it just me
I feel very annoyed because after waiting for hours for my catalog to sync, I had to delete the app and lost all my synced photos
Can the Adobe LRM team please clarify if this could have been cause by the LRM app?
I've been using LRM for a long time and never encountered such a problem. Could it be because the app required around 1.6 GB of space on the iPad and they sync/download process was taking like forever to get done. ( I had plenty of free space on my iPad. Had like 5.6 GB free on it).
Any help and advise would be truly appreciated

    Hi,
Lightroom mobile should not be causing any iPad crashers, the issue with the crashing LrM is a known issue.
What would help would be if you can collect logs from your tablet and send them privately to me.
Only then we can know for sure if it's really caused by LrMobile.
We would need all your logs that you can find under these folders that are close to the date and time when your device restarted.
    OSX: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/DeviceName/
    Windows: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\DeviceName\
Btw you need to sync with iTunes to see them.
    thanks,
    Ignacio
