Hi!
You should be OK with BIOS version 3.2 (or higher if you have very large HDDs, for instance). You can find the instructions for flashing the BIOS here.

( i've looked for it but dont even know what to look for ? )
    please help someone!

An Athlon XP could run in your board but it would only run at about 75% of it's clock speed due to the fact your board doesn't support 266MHz FSB.
Officially you should only use a Duron1300 or old Athlon 1400/200 if you could still find one.
A 250w PSU could limit you depending on the rest of your hardware and the exact model/ratings of this PSU.

  • Problem with K7T Pro (MS-6330)

I've been used MSI K7T Pro (MS-6330) for 2 years and it worked just fine. But recently the problem occurred. After I've upgraded CPU from Duron 600 to TB 1.2 GHz, when I run a heavy-loaded application such as 3DMark, 3D games (UT2003) my computer will stop working (IMO: my case just like the classic K7T Pro) but when I touched the SC1155 chip, it just warm (it won't burn my finger). So I'm confused that is my mobo defected or not?
Oh, almost forgot .. my mobo was modified and can adjust multiplier.
    FYI:
I've tried underclock CPU to 950 MHz and I've found that 950 work fine (or at least it use very long time to run full-loaded and then die). Once I forgot to plugged electric-cable for my heatsink fan and temp goes 66-68C and still working normally (not running 3D app.)
So, can anyone suggest me what is the problem with my mobo?
Thank you very much and apologize for my language  :P
    My Spec:
AMD Athlon (TB) 1.2 GHz (but now run @950MHz) VCore 1.55 (tried 1.55-1.85 result is the same)

    Hi,
RMA the board, contact your nearest MSI office and ask for the RMA department.
There is not much more you can do.

  • Req: K7T Pro MS-6330 and CPU

Pls, I have MSI K7T Pro motherboard. In support page there is written that this MB supports Duron up to 1.1 GHz and Thunderbird Athlon up to 1.2 GHz (100 FSB) with a little older BIOS 314  . Is the info true and recent or are there any news on it and it supports at least Duron 1.2 GHz or higher CPU ?

I have the MS-6330 v5.0 board Running an XP1900+ CPU (1.56GHz). The more recent BIOS images allow for higher CPU speeds, but it is important to check the version # of you board to verify the version of the BIOS falsh it can handle. With the v5.0 boards you can use BIOS v3.6 which allows 2200+ CPU's

  • K7T Pro (MS-6330)

I have a k7t pro and I want to get an athlon xp 1500+ in it. I know its not going to use the full potential of the processor but it is cheaper than an amd athlon 1.2 tbird.
I was running an amd x 1800+ on it before because i got it in a pulled system for free. it worked fine but will a 1500+ work stabily?

    Dear Assaf !
'Since the K7T Pro only supports 200MHz FSB an AXP 1500+ (1333MHz) will only run at 1000MHz.'
This is true if you don't modify the processor.
On the other hand if you unlock the processor (paint the L1-bridges), paint/cut the L10 bridges and change the multiplier, then you can run the CPU at it's full speed.
    I am currently running a XP1800+ (1533MHz) on a K7T Pro2 board with 102MHz FSB and a mult. of 16 (8 in BIOS +8 by CPU) at 1.63 GHz.

  • Msi k7t pro MS 6330 - best graphic card

    hello gentlemen
As announce subject I am k7t pro ver1 owner. Nowadays the MB is provided with riva tnt2 model 64 - yeah it is old one. I would like to change the graphic card, up to the good one. So is there any graphic card you know may be recommend? Some VGA x4, having best technical parameters to the mainboard?
    Kongo

    thanks for reply
sure, I do not intend play newest games, anyway I wish to play hitmanII, or III and IGI-2 - some ! The MB I have is retired. Max CPU to the MB is 1.2G Athlon - and I fited out with it (1.2 Athlon). Power suply is powerful 350W of good make; also 448 sdr sdram is going to be. I just do not know if Geforce 4 will be suported by the MB. AGP port is 4x only.
Man, did I  well anderstand you? You mean that if I plug in 8x graphic card the system wil be stable? Ex. MSI GForce 4 Titanium 4200 128DDR? And will work fine on the MB?
Anyway I wish to plug in as good as possible (or something about) graphic card...  so are there any  suggestion ?

  • K7T Pro (MS-6330) BIOS freezes

    Hello world!!!
my old PC (MSI K7T, AMD 650 MHz, 640 MB RAM) has worked fine until 4 days ago.
I switched off and from now I cannot switch on anymore.
Th 4 LED's stay always red, that means either CPU problm (???) or lithium battery problem.
I changed the battery (was almost discharged) but I cannot boot.
    Any idea, tips, hint??
I have tried 3x to reset CMOS, still no success
    Thanks a lot!!!

    My guess it is about 100 $. A Phenom X3 about 150 $. And some memory too: Corsair TWIN2X PC6400 DDR2 2GB KIT CL4, 40 $ maybe."
Except for the processor there are chances you wont need a new PSU for the above. Suspect however you are in the upgrading mood, which points towards a new hard disk and DVD-burner (to house the videos you make) so allow for a Zalman PSU in your budget, too.
And a little off: Thank you, Svet Bosskov-killer for the back-up and information!

  • K7T pro (MS 6330) what is the highest CPU I can use?

I currently have a Duron 650 and the manual says that I can go up to ~1.3 Ghz. However, the CPU compatibility chart has an N/A beside anything higher than 1.2, even if it has a 100 FSB.
So my questions are: what is my limit, am I limited by a 250 watt power supply, does Athlon Thunderbird have much over the Duron, and will I see much difference from my 650 Duron?
I assume that the CPU has to be FSB 100 so Athlon XP or MP are out.
          Thanks for any help.

An Athlon XP could run in your board but it would only run at about 75% of it's clock speed due to the fact your board doesn't support 266MHz FSB.

  • K7T PRO (6330) wasted?!

    Can anyone help me out?
Today I bought an Athlon Thunderbird 1333MHz 133FSB for my old K7T-pro(bios v3.2) not knowing wether it would work or not.
At first the computer booted, but showed 1000MHz, I changed the CPU Host/PCI clock graduatly until my computer just stopped booting.
And here's the problem: After repeatedly switching the CMOS clear jumper, removed the battery(few minutes), switched to the old CPU(Duron 600), the system still won't boot. Some fans and leds works, but thats it.
    Diagnostic LED status:  X(  X(  X(  X(
    which should indicate CPU malfunction.
(I've reset the bios before succesfully for other reasons)
Have my overoptimistic CPU change wasted the motherboard, or are there other ways to reset it or whatever?

  • K7t Pro 6330

I want to put on a MSI K7T PRO an AMD thrton 2000+. If Would I update my mb with the last bios version, may my pc work? (i'm sorry for some error but i'm Italian)

  • K7t pro 2a Memory prob

    System setup:
    K7T-Pro 2-a MS 6330 (not the Turbo)
    Duron 950
    768MB PC133 SDRAM
    Geforce 32mb
Machine was running perfectly. Then I bought a new 512 mb stick of RAM. Installed it and the machine ran fine. I had 2x512mb of pc133 and 1x128mb pc133.Then it just rebooted on me as i was surfin the net. I got an error that said BIOS not fully ACPI compliant. THis happened about 3 times then I took the new ram out and set my machine up the way it was before. Now the machine cannot get past the windows starting up screen. It just keeps rebooting. It posts a blue screen with an error in the upper left side but I cant read it as the error disappears too fast. I have tried to push pause but to no avail. I have tried to set the ram to pc100, messed with other BIOS settings, etc but nothing is working. I dont understand why when i have taken the new ram out and have the computer set as it was before it will not work. I have read the trouble shooting guide and the MSI FAQ but nothing has worked. Any help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

If you're usnig Windows 95/98/ME, you need to set the vcache a big amount so the memory left for Win9x is below 512MB. Try http://support.microsoft.com for more info.

  • K7t pro ver1 boot up problem

Yesterday my system suddenly went out when I was installing Oracle under Mandrake Linux.  And then it won't boot up, it don't post anything.  I heard a long beep and followed by two short beeps during the bootup, the DLED was RED-RED-RED-GREEN (from top to bottom) at that time.  And the DLED finally stayed at GREEN-RED-GREEN-GREEN.
I unplugged everything out except for the memory and cpu and cleared CMOS, then reboot, still same problem.
Anyone could give me a hint?  Did the MB die?

  • K7T Pro2A (MS-6330) Boot Problems

Well, my computer seems to have died on me. When I try to reboot, first I get no response, just the DLED signal red red green red (0010) which the manual says corresponds to "keyboard may be damaged or not plugged in properly". So I reset the keyboard (it's the logitech wireless) and I can get it to start booting up (I see the Video card info followed by the memory test). But then it just stops and gives me the red green green green (0111) which the manual describes as "Assign IRQs to PCI devices" and under possible problems says "Stop". And the computer just sits there. Then I have to repeat the entire process, including reseting the keyboard.
Also, I can't enter setup, once I hit DEL it just goes locks up at the 0111 error.
Can anyone provide any info? Thanks in advance.
    My system is AMD Athlon 900, K7T Pro2A (MS-6330)
    WIN 98
    384MB RAM
    10G and 40 G hard drive
I think the Bios is ver 2.9 but I can't be certain.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and does anyone think I should try clearing the CMOS and rebooting?
I think this is the right forum for this...

    Hi,
If the board is still under warranty then I would RMA it as these have Voltage regulator problems that fail after a while.

  • K7T Pro 2-A damaging CPUs

I have the most strange problem ever.
My MSI K7T Pro 2-A is damaging the CPUs I install for some unknown reason. The mobo has been rock stable for more than a year and a half and I think it is of excellent quality. About 15 days ago the PC froze while downloading a file under Win XP Pro, and then I had to shutdown. When I turned it on again, it makes 1 beep like everything was normal but the video signal was lost. Later, after many tries with different hardware I discovered that my Athlon 1 Ghz was burned; the strange thing is that doesn't had any external signs of burning, the surface was perfect. It was installed with a very good cooler (TITAN TTC-MT1AB) so temperature problems where discarded. Then I bought a new Duron 1.1 Ghz and installed it without problems. The BIOS installed was version 3.41. I flashed succesfully the same day I installed the new CPU to the BIOS last version (3.5) and it ran succesfully for about a week. Today, same story, the Duron was gone this time. My friend told me that maybe there is a sort of incompatibility with the new BIOS, but I refuse to believe it. Apparently the PSU is fine and I see no signs of a damaged capacitor or something like that in the mobo. We have absolutely no clue of what may be causing this; My technician friend tried to boot a Duron 700 Mhz and posted OK, but the new Duron don't posted anymore, after installing it on an older KT7 Pro 2, so I guess is damaged too. Any suggestion will be apreciated, as we try to isolate this problem. I will see if we use a electronic tester. If the PSU is the culprit, I don't understand how it doesn't burned the motherboard already, and if it is the mobo, I don't understand how a processor is running very stable for a week and then dyes. Any advice? I don't want to burn another CPU. ;(

    Hi,
The motherboard isn't frieing CPU's, I'm pretty sure the old CPU is fine too....
RMA the board to MSI, as it happens on some boards and they need to be repaired.
Contact your dealer or your nearest MSI Quarters on what to do.
MSI warrants the board for 2 years, so that shouldn't be a problem.
