Rebuild/Redesign FND_USER_RESP_GROUPS view in 12.1.1

Oracle Apps:12.1.1
OS:Red Hat Linux 4 86x64
Issue Description:"Switch Responsibility" (Top Hat) Takes Much Longer In Forms more than 40 seconds for LOV to populate.
Did anyone try Rebuilding/Redesigning FND_USER_RESP_GROUPS view in 12.1.1.
or is there any patch available for 12.1.1 to resolve the above issue!
We have tried all the steps in note:ID 745701.1 but still the issue persists!!!

Hi,
Do you have the statistics collected up to date?
Try to rebuild the indexes on the tables mentioned in (Note: 270125.1 - Responsibility LOV takes long time after Login) and see if this helps.
If the above does not help, enable trace and generate the TKPROF file to find out why it takes that long to switch between the responsibilities.

4. Lets say I have connected to ECC Data Base VUA HANA studio and created Calculation Views.
5. Now when I logon to BW server I want the calculation VIew to be exposed to BW
what are the steps to establish connection between BW and HANA
how can I see the Calculation view created VIA Hana Studio in ECC Hana Database in BW Server
My requirement it I will upload all master data in BW and then Calculation view created in ECC will need to be exposed to BW on HANA server then link this Calculation View to Master Data in BW Via Composite Provider and then use this for reporting.
Please suggest possible ways by which by which I can see the calculation views created VIA HANA Studio on ECC HANA Data base.

To repeat your question..
You have ECC on HANA and also BW on HANA
ECC and BW cannot coexists on single HANA box as of today. So in your landscape you might be having two HANA boxes ,one connecting to ECC and other to BW.
Now your question is you want to bring the Calculation view build on ECC HANA box to BW HANA box. Check the steps below to achieve the same.
1) if you have already build a calculation view in ECC HANA box then export the Calculation view .
2) Connect the two HANA box via SLT and replicate all the tables that is required for the calculation view.
3) Once the tables are replicated then import the Calculation view that is exported earlier.
4) Now the calculation view is in BW on HANA box. Now its possible to build a composite provider by combining the BW master data and ECC transaction data calculation view.
If you don't want to use SLT then use SDA option to virtualize all the required tables and rebuild the calculation view again on these virtual tables.

Materialized view Vs Streams - can you recommend one?

We have many materialized views (for change data capture) based on rowid as the source doesn’t have primary keys. The source DB will be upgraded to 10/11g (from 9). Because the data would be exported and imported back, the rowids will be changed at the source.
Consequently, the materialized views at the target need to be rebuilt. However, it is impossible to rebuild the materialized views timely due to huge volume.
We are thinking about using Oracle Streams instead of materialized views. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

With streams, primary are not require but your updates are not guarantee. If you have duplicates in your data, it will updates both which may or may not be what you want. BTW. Streams will not replicate table with rowid. I am assuming those rowid were required because you are outer joins with MVs.
If you want to stick with MVs, you can take exports of the tables, import after the upgrade and build the MVs with the prebuilt table option. It's a lot quicker then trying to recreate the MV or doing complete refresh over the WAN.

Interfereing with the rendering of the view - is it possible ?

I am facing a problem of controls like the drop down control, being displayed with an unacceptable offset ie. when clicking the drop down control, the actual window of the value selection does not open directly beneath the control but rather with a significant offset. This only happens in Hebrew login, and maybe with other RTL languages login like arabic.
Redesigning the view is not a real solution.
In javawebdynpro this does not happen.
The workaround I am considering is tempering with the javascript which the webdynpro generates, even at the risk of having to re-temper with this each time a change is made.
Does anyone know how to do this or provide some other solution to this problem ?

I wouldn't recommend that. I would suggest that you open a support ticket and let SAP permanently fix the rendering for you.

Subscription Views: GRANTS removed when MDS is upgraded?

We recently upgraded the MDS component from SQL Server 2012 base to SP1 CU6.
It seems that the upgrade must rebuild the subscription views (the create date matches the time of the upgrade) and in doing so any additional GRANT statements associated with the view is lost and not applied on the rebuild.
We had provided some service accounts SELECT permission to the views in order to read them and download them to their applications.
Has anyone else experienced the same or similar issues on an upgrade? Is there a better way to apply security on the views that will not have to be re-applied any time an upgrade is performed?

The current upgrade process will drop and create the views, which will lost the permissions on the old objects.
I will create a bug to restore the permission after recreate the subscription views. It would be triaged and fixed in the next release.
In 2012/2014, you probably have to keep the grant permission queries in scripts and rerun them after each SP and CU upgrades.

Using Aperture and IPhoto together for RAW

Hi All,
I have just received my MBP and will be using Aperture to edit my RAW files from a Nikon camera.
I was wondering if Aperture works the same as IPhoto in regards to the library function or do you still use IPhoto to arrange, tag your images etc...
If that is the case how do you do that if you are using RAW files? Does IPhoto recognise RAW images?
I would like to hear your workflow on a MAC.

Sad to say Richard but you are close but not quite correct. Aperture has a much reduced set of RAW support vs. iPhoto. Of this I can personally attest, but they're both covered on the Apple site.
To add to some other points you address...
iPhoto is still needed for simple integration with other iLife apps., as Aperture has no iLife integration. There is an Aperture2iLife script available (Lightbox software) which automates an export and import process. If you carry an iPod around with photos, then you'll need to maintain iPhoto for that purpose. Welcome to the land of duplicates!
iPhoto does indeed process the RAW and all image work is performed on a JPEG version therafter. The RAW is never used, but is stored in the Originals folder (along with any original JPG or TIF files from the camera if these were shot vs. RAW).
Aperture's RAW converter is markedly superior to iPhoto, and the control and editing options likewise. As noted, Aperture does not change the original RAW (or other imported file), but saves the edit instructions (akin to adjustment layers in Photoshop) for rebuilding the image viewed from the original. Enhanced book and Web Gallery options exist vs. iPhoto ... so integration to iWeb isn't quite as important, though would be very useful.

CM issue

we have a vision server on windows. The issue is with CM. i can start them from component services.However all the requests shows "Inactive manager"
Only the Internal manager shows 1,1 as actual and target while other managers are not running.They shows a status of "Target node/queue unavailable"
reading some metalink docs i updated the control_code to null and commit
Update fnd_concurrent_queues set control_code = null where control_code ='N';
but again when i refresh the requests, it shows control_code=N
i also used cmclean.sql and also rebuild the cm views-

Side effects of using catmeta.sql?

Not exactly sure where to put this, but I've been having problems exporting, mostly around the XMLGEN part. It seems that the solution would be to rebuild all the views and whatnot, but since this is a live database, I'd like to know if there are any side effects accompanying using catmeta.sql or any of the related files.

The OPT has crossed the threshold of 30 percent and the ACS will experience lot of problems.
You will need to rebuild (clean) the view DB.

Embedded font errors (must be a bug)

In a project I've been working on we are unable to use the design view because there's something wrong with embedding fonts. I have embedded to fonts via a CSS style sheet and as soon as I referenced that stylesheet in a component I get the following errors

I can clean the project and clear these errors then compile and run the application where the fonts showed just fine. However if I then rebuild the design view the errors return and design view remains unusable.
Has anyone else experienced this or can anyone help?

Err, so where's the problem, Herb?
It's normal that Logic just displays one staff if you select a track. Just double click somwhere on a "blank piece of paper" inside the score window, and you'll be switched back to all instruments.

Issue migrating from Jdev eloper 11.1.1.0.2 to 11.1.1.2.0

I ha migrated my application and I did the following:
1. Open app in 11.1.1.2.0, I accepted all wizard default options
2. Build->clean all
3. Right clic rebuild model and view contoller projects
4. I got errors as "class not found" in my view controller, but the class are in the path. I think that is because the dependences not were correctly mapped.
5. I solved compiling each class that is not referenced and I make rebuild and 0 errores, but if I make clean again and rebuild, the errors appears again about references to class.

I have already checked the path of both projects in my applictaion, and is fine. However, checking dependencies, i found that in the Model project, was a call to a class in the ViewController project, which get some parameter needed for the EO to work. I removed that call to the ViewController class from the EO, and removed the associated import. After that, my entire application compiled.
Now I need to know hot to get a session variable from an EO class, to supply that parameter that was getting from my ViewController class before.

Thanks for the posting on this. I have been working on this for the past couple of days and found the same "issue". The SQL is working, but the fnd_user_resp_groups 'view' at least in our version doesn't display the 'start_date, end_date, description' correctly. It seems to be hard coded to display:
start_date = 01/JAN/00
end_date = NULL
description = NULL
I found this out as I was trying to alter the table, but it then I realized it was a view. And if you look at the view details, it will show it is hardcoded.
You should look at the user_resp_groups_all view. It displays what you have set.

DPS and Omniture setup

With a DPS provisioned Adobe ID account, how do we know if our Omniture account has been created and is working? How do we know it is properly in a folio and is working?

First you must build a viewer with Analytics enable. Here are the instructions to do that:
Login to Viewer Builder with the Adobe ID you use for Viewer Builder, all existing builds created during prerelease will remain. Click on the application you want to update in the 'Manage' view and then click the Edit button. Go through each screen and ensure the settings and files used are still relevant and finally click 'Submit Build', this will rebuild your custom viewer with analytics enabled.
If your Viewer Builder account name matches your publication account the Omniture data fields will automatically be populated for you.
Once you have installed this viewer application on your tablet you it will begin recording Omniture events as you interact with the application and content. These events are viewable in the Analytics portal inside the Digital Publishing dashboard within the title's publication account. Note that while Omniture events are sent in real time, they are periodically processed at Omniture before making them available to the portal for presentation. Typically this occurs within 10 minutes, but sometimes it can take as much as 1/2 hour.
A simple validation of the end to end workflow would be done by downloading an issue within a multi-issue viewer. You can archive and download again to test the accumulation of activity. There are analytics reports that correspond to this. Alternatively, interacting with overlays in your content will trigger activity that has a corresponding report presentation.

I always thought that nvl(billed,'N') != 'Y' meant that the query should include all rows with a null-value or a value other than Y. :p
But I agree that the index would moste likely not be that helpfull, but we need more information for that: [When your query takes too long|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1812597] and [HOW TO: Post a SQL statement tuning request |http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=863295]
I expect that the conditions on tsk_subno will result in a small number of rows and that there's an index on tsk_subno.order_no which will be used to retrieve those rows.
In that case view arm_subs_balance will be accessed on subno. This means that if the tables crm_user_info, crm_user_equipments and ivm_billing have indexes on subno, those indexes will be used, but an index on ivm_invoice_record.subno will not be used because of select nvl(H.subno,'0000000') subnoWithout more information I would guess that this part of the union takes longest and should be tuned by rethinking/redesigning the view or a function based index: create index i on IVM_INVOICE_RECORD ( nvl(H.subno,'0000000') );
