Log into your iTunes account. Look at your purchases.. Store/View My Account. If you paid for Lion it will be in the first section. Click on "Report A Problem".  Explain that you want a refund. They answer within 24 hours, and you get your refund 3-4 days later.  I was unable to install it on my 7-month old Mac. No questions asked they gave me the refund and were pleasant about it. You must do this through iTunes, not the App Store.

how I can for free upgrade os x 10.5.8 to 10.6?

    You can't upgrade for free.
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later

             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later

Free Goods Determination in Sales Order
Free goods has the following limitations:
    - Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: ‘With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of charge‘ or ‘If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of charge‘.
    - Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
    - Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
    - Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
    - Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
    - If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix.
    4.6x
Not all Sales Order can be used for free goods determination.  You have to check the SD document category if it does not work.  Only category 'C' are supported.  Check transaction VOV8.
Assume that you want to configure an inclusive FREE goods routine.  Customers must order a minumum quantity of 5 before any free goods can be assign.  For every quantity of 3, the customer will be given 1 free goods.
WC07 - Maintain Number Range Intervals
    e.g.
    No   From number       To number
    01    0000010000         0000099999
IMG -> Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Free Goods ->
    Maintain Access Sequences

    Maintain Condition Types

    FREE  Free Goods    NA00
    Save
    Maintain Pricing Procedures
    Procedures
    New Entries
    Procedure   Description
    FREE           Free Goods
Select Procedure FREE then click Control data
    Step   Cntr   Ctyp
    10       10      FREE
V/N6 - Activate Free Goods Determination
Assign Order Type OR with Document Procedure A with Procedure FREE
VBN1 - Create free goods determination
    e.g.  FREE inclusive
Material  Min qty   From   are free good   Calc Rule   Free Goods
                           5           3                1                      1                1
In this example, if you create a Sales Order for a quantity of 10, SAP will prompt you 7 as the customer order qty and 3 will be free.  Customer only pay for the 7 quantity.
    Free goods –
Free goods play a large role in price negotiations with your customers. As a result, free goods are determined to be placed in sales document automatically. In retail, chemical industry or consumer goods industry, it is common to provide discounts in the form of free goods.
Inclusive Bonus Quantities – Free goods can be part of order quantity not included in the invoice (billing). This is called inclusive bonus quantity. The ordered goods and the free goods both involve the same material. The quantity units of the free goods and the ordered goods must be the same.
Exclusive Bonus Quantities – Free goods that take the form of extra goods that are free of charge are called exclusive bonus quantities. In this case, the extra bonus quantities are not typically included in the invoice (billing). This can either be an additional quantity of the goods ordered or it can be another article. The exclusive free of goods appear in the SD document as an individual ‘free of charge’ item.
Both types of free goods are treated in the same way in the sales order. The material that has been ordered is entered as a main item (TAN) and the free item (TANN) is automatically displayed as a sub item. The item category determines how the item is controlled later in the business process.
The system re-reads the free goods master record in the sales order if the quantities in the main item change or if the pricing date changes. The system then deletes the sub items and re-creates them. Any manual changes to the free goods quantity are lost.
Note: If pricing is re-run in the sales order, it does not affect the free goods determination.
The condition technique is used for free goods. Free goods are generally regarded as a supplement to the pricing agreement for a material. You can define master records for free goods at any level such as material, customer/material, price list category/currency/material or customer hierarchy/material. The transaction code is VBN1 and condition type – NA00 which automatically gets converted into R100 during sales document processing.
You can restrict a free goods condition master record for one level in many ways –
    a. Validity period: the condition is only valid within this period
    b. Lowest quantity: the condition comes into affect when this quantity has been exceeded.
    c. Delivery control:
    d. Calculation type:
    e. Scales
You can process different master data with the same key for inclusive and exclusive bonus quantities at the same time. You only need to press a button to switch between two types of discount. When you enter an exclusive bonus quantity, an extra entry line appears where you can enter the free material if it is not the same as the ordered material.
When you specify a calculation rule, you decide how the system determines the free goods quantity in the sales order from the additional and document quantities.
    a. The free goods quantity is the quantity that is calculated from the discount quantity (not the minimum quantity)
    b. Additional quantity is the quantity delivered free of charge
    c. Document quantity is the quantity entered by the person creating the sales order.
Three calculation rules are provided by the system i.e.
Prorated – the system calculates the free goods in right proportion to document the quantity. For example – if 20 units are offered for free for 100 units in the condition record and the customer orders 162 units, then the system calculates 162 * 20/100 (rounded off) as free goods.
Related to units – 20 units are given for free for every 100 units ordered. In the above case the customer would only get 20 units free as he placed an order for 162 units.
Whole units – the customer would not get any free goods if he doesn’t match the exact quantity proposed. That is, in the above case, the customer doesn’t get any free goods as the ordered quantity did not match 100 units. Anything below or over the mark will not be qualified for a free good.
Calculation rules are stored in the system in the form of ABAP/4 code. You can also define your own rules by using transaction code VOFM (system modifications).
The free goods determination procedure contains a list of condition types for the free goods. One access sequence is assigned to each condition type and each access sequence contains one ore more accesses and each access contains exactly one table. This represents the search key that the system uses to search for valid condition records.
The free goods determination procedure is assigned to sales area + document pricing procedure + customer pricing procedure just as in the case of pricing procedure assignment as free goods are generally regarded as a supplement to the pricing agreement for a material.
If the search is successful, the system generates a sub item for free goods in the document. The item category is assigned with the item category usage FREE.
You can activate an analysis of the free goods determination in the sales document. The system then displays detailed information on how the free goods were determined.

  • Is there any way to purchase upgrade when PC is NOT eligible for free upgrade

    Hi...
I bought my pavilion dv5 1 month to soon to get the free upgrade... Now i'm wondering if HP gives the same upgrade option to people who want to upgrade and will pay for it... I know I can buy Windows 7 on a DVD, but there's no drivers on it, and I was told by HP support that the drivers from the HP download site might not work properly on a standalone Windows 7
So is there any way to get upgrade by paying for it... Maybe HP has some buyable upgrade kit?
    Sincerely
    DCNR

When HP has Windows 7 drivers available, they will certainly work with a conventional Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade version.

  • Bought new Mac on 3rd June - could i speak to Apple and ask for free upgrade - this is my first Mac!

I have never been a Mac owner before now… I considered carefully about whether to buy a Mac or PC and in the end chose my new iMac with i5 Core Processor. I had been a PC user prior to this. I also got 3 years Apple Care. The thing is, if I had been aware that Snow Leopard was going to be available to those buying from 6th June for free, I would probably have delayed buying until then. I am wondering if Apple would be likely to show good faith and give the Snow Leopard for free seeing as I had seriously considered the choice of a Mac and am so close to the date of inclusion. I am sure it would be good PR for Apple to say yes. What do people suggest I do?

    Lion Up-To-Date upgrade
"The Mac OS X Lion Up-To-Date upgrade is available at no additional charge via the Mac App Store to all customers who purchased a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 6, 2011. Users must request their Up-To-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchase of their Mac computer. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 6, 2011 and the date when Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from Lion’s official release date to make a request." • Advice needed for stable upgrades

I have just come over from Gentoo because of concern over the massive upgrades needed (xorg-7.1  needed 105 packages upgraded), and the instability of some of the upgrades. I thought Arch might be a better choice because of the rolling releases. But now I feel some of the uneasiness I had with Gentoo. I have had Arch up and running for about a month. There have been at least three kernel upgrades with more coming. Fortunately for me they went flawlessly, but that may not happen next time according to some of the posts I've read
I have an AMD FX2800 with an nvidia 6800GT graphics card. No hardware is being changed. The computer runs much faster than it did on Gentoo. Why should I risk the instability of upgrading the core programs: kernel26, nvidia, mkinitcpio, mkinitrd, klib*, grub, udev? My solution has been to enter these programs in IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf.
Am I going to create problems down the road?
I would appreciate any comments on my solution.

I have been in archlinux for years.
The latest upgrades within my computer in arch have performed excellently with no problems introduced.
Some of the problems presented to users with the latest kernels and udev are due to ID changes in the pata/sata area but are not major disruptions.
I must report that I do not have sata devices within my two computers, one has IDE hdd's and the other has no hdd's...runs on Larch boot into ram which is the system I post this from.
If a user modifies his system there is a risk when upgrading via pacman which cannot sync to the changes made.
The rolling relase system reduces the impact of upgrades which cause anomalies by more easily identifying the root cause to the few packages upgraded...rather than hundreds as you experienced in gentoo.
In short, it seems that the rolling release system has merits......no system is perfect....

  • Never received confirmation email for free upgrade

I bought a Mac Book Pro from an Apple retail store. I went to Apple's free upgrade website. Successfully went through the verification process and received on-screen confimation that I was approved and an email would be sent to me. I never received an email. What do I do? How do I upgrade?

Apple Support just informed me it can take up to 72 hours after submission to receive your code, even if the request has been already approved. I have been told "they are very busy sending out all these codes to so many people, so will take up to 72 hours to receive yours".

    Hi cdhoffman13,
I am sorry to hear that your Nikon digital camera may not be functioning quite right.  If you purchased the digital camera back in November, then the manufacturer warranty is likely still valid.  I was able to locate the order you placed on BestBuy.com using the email address you registered with the forum, and I have requested that a copy of the receipt be emailed to you.  Please keep an eye on your email account over the next couple of hours and remember to double check any spam/junk folders.
Thank you for connecting with us on the forum, and let me know if you have any other questions.

  • I have downloaded the two files needed for the upgrade of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to version 12 but I cannot open them to make them run and install. What am I supposed to do. One is a very large .7z file just over 1gb in size.

How do I open  up a .7z file just over 1gb in size? I have just downloaded this as an upgrade from Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to version 12. I cannot see any sign of the Akamai program on my computer that is supposed to open and install the two files that I downloaded.

    Thanks Hans
I don’t mind mountain climbing but anything serious to do with a computer scares me silly.
I installed the 64 bit version of 7zip and once I figured out how to tell the computer to use the right application within that to open the 7zip file, the big file opened and I was able to apply the .exe file to get things going and installed. In the end the default location the installation chose was program files x86 which I think is the 32 bit folder but it all seems to be ok now.
Many thanks again for your response.
    Cheers
