Receive an immediate Run Time installation error

Hello,
I just formatted my machine, installed windows, installed the latest drivers, performed Windows Updates, installed Acronis, Installed Office 2007, performed Windows Updates.
I download the install_reader11_en_mssd_aaa_aih.exe file and run it.
I click Next on the Adobe Reader Update Preferences.
Just in Time Debugging:  An exception 'Runtime Error' has occurred in script.
Script Editor says:  Cannot create Application Data Folder.
Thank you.

Thank you Pat.
I tried your first suggestion of right clicking and "Run as Administrator" but that didn't help.
Installing from Adobe - Adobe Reader Distribution  the link you provided worked.  I successfully installed Adobe reader.
Thank you.  Now I can go to sleep.

    It is simple!
    Place in folder
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\5.1\
    lvrt.dll and ole_lv5container.dll
Do not install RT 5.1.1 because of bug in

  • Error when importing static files in run-time installation

    Hello all,
I have a development environment running 3.2 and also a run-time test environment running 3.2. I'm trying to import an export of static files from the development environment into the test environment, and we're getting the following:

We've exported and imported these same static files in the past with no issues, and we also exported and imported two applications and an image export without issues.
Any idea what is causing this?
    Thanks!
    John

    Update:
I had two static files in my export - one was assigned to a specific application and one wasn't. When I ran into the issue importing, I had elected to export "all static files". I just tried it again, but exported and imported each of them individually, and it worked fine so I'm back in business.
But perhaps there is an issue when exporting all files, when they aren't all assigned the same way? Maybe something to be looked into...

  • Run-Time Engine error

I have created an automated test and had it running as an executable on a stand alone test computer. I updated my LabView software to 8.6.1. I just made some changes to the test and recompiled it. When I tried to run it on the stand alone computer it gave me an error about the LabVIEW 8.6.1 run-time engine missing. I thought when the project was built all the files that pertained to running it were also built into the folder. Has anyone run into this that could offer some advice.
    Thanks

Did you create an installer or simply build the exe? If you only built the exe you will need to install the run-time engine on the target machine. If you created an installer you can include the installation of the run-time engine as part of the installer.

  • Run time engine, Error of type 1002208

    Hi,
I want to build an exe  using LV 8.6 development (project builder).    When I finished the project in LV8.6 development, it works ok.  But When I copy the project (include the exe file) to the computer installed only run-time engine (standard) and Measurement & Automation Explorer, V4.0.0.3010, The screen indicates "  VI has an error of type 1002208, The full development version of LV is required to fix the errors."    Is there anything wrong when I build the application?  Thank you.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Dennis,
When i built the application, I didn't build an installer into the project.  I pretty much followed the HELP in LV 8.6 example: Build a stand-alone application.
The vi is mainly to read the TC signal and voltage signal from the computer connected to a scxi-1000 chassis and modules (scxi-1102 etc.)    Yes, the vi called the sub vi (like DAQmx  Created Channel [AI Temperature-Thermocouple].vi; DAQmx read.vi etc.).  When I built the exe file, I have placed these vis into "always included" under "source file" category.  Thank you.

  • LabView Run-Time Installation Failure

    Hi

    Hello!
I tried installing the last version of the Windows Installer and the problem persisted.
First I was installing from a mounted ISO image as if it was a DVD inserted for the virtual Windows XP, so I tried installing from a copy of the ISO image in the virtual hard disk, which failed too. Then I tried installing the Windows Installer. Copy the installation files out of the ISO image didn't go well either. Finally, I copied the installation files to a usb flash memory, I installed the Virtual Machine Additions in the virtual Windows XP (because is necessary for reading usb flash memories) and I could perform the installation from the flash memory.
I can't yet understand why the OS recognises the executable files correctly in this last case and not in the others. They are the same files!!

  • Custom Run-Time Menu error when named "FileMenu.rtm"

Discovered an interesting "feature" (error?) in LabVIEW 2009 when using custom run-time file menus.
If you create a custom run-time menu (.rtm) and name it "FileMenu.rtm" the menu will not function correctly in executable format.
In my LabVIEW Project, any VIs which called this custom file menu worked correctly in the project, but when I built an executable, the VIs defaulted to the default file menu.  This was not due to a corrupted .rtm file or the file not being included in the executable.  Instead after extensive debugging I determined that the name "FileMenu.rtm" is somehow reserved in LabVIEW and any executables that are built have the custom run-time menu overwritten by the default.  The tricky part of this error is that it goes unnoticed while the code is still in development and only presents itself after being built into an executable.
Simply changing the name of the file fixed the executable run-time menu.

    Chris,
Thanks for trying it out.  It seems that my forum post may have been a bit rushed.
I tried to duplicate the problem in a new project from scratch and similarly was unable to reproduce it.  I will try more soon, and in doing so perhaps reveal the true underlying problem.  I would post the original code but it is proprietary.
I was running LabVIEW 2009 and Windows XP when the problem first presented itself.  I updated to LabVIEW 2009 SP1 as part of my debugging and the problem still presented itself.

  • Visa run time installer in LV 8.2?

    Hi again!
I need some help conerning adding Visa Run Time to an .exe that I'm trying to build. I recently built the .exe and found that the front panel and all sub Vi's were active, but the controls weren't communicating through the  serial port like they had been when I was working with the project. From what I have read and observed, it looks like the appropriate action to take would be to include the VISA run time components with the exe. However, I'm unable to located the correct window in which to do this! I have seen screenshots on the forums, but am not able to locate it in the ".exe" builder! I'm running LV 8.2 and I downloaded the Visa - Runtime 4.0 zip, extracted, and ran it on my system but it wouldn't continue installation, telling me that no files would be removed or installed. I tried to modify what would be copied to the drive but I couldn't make any selections that changed the out come. I'm very green to labview and would appreciate any help or advice that can be given.
    Thanks
    Ryan

    Hi Valcon,
To include the VISA Runtime Engine in your installer for your executable, you'll want to go to your Project Explorer and Right-click Build Specifications & select New Installer from the list.  You can then add the VISA Runtime Engine under the "Additional Installers" section.  Installers are made for executables that you would like to run on computers that don't have the full version of VISA, etc. installed (thus we need the Runtime Engines).  If you run your executable on your development computer, you should already have the full version of VISA installed & you should be able to run your executable there without a problem.  Hope this helps!

  • LV 6.1, 3D Surface Graph sometimes collapses (doesn't work stably); plus blocks use of remotely controlled panel by LV run-time engine (error #26:"window.cpp", line 11518

    1) "3D Surface Graph" does not work stably; sometimes it changes its properties (e.g. plot style) without me doing anything prior to that; a couple of times it lost a complete sense so that I had to delete the graph and install it again
    2) I tried to remotely run a VI which contains a 3D Surface Graph in it. It turns out, the use of the "3D Surface Graph" somehow blocks the remote control over the panel. As a result of that, I got the following error message: Error #26: "window.cpp", line 11518 (with LabVIEW version 6.1).
    3) Is it possible to plug into the 3D Surface Graph a few plots at
the same time since there is a built-in control "plot number" (somehow by bundling them up or putting into an array - I tried both but didn't work) or it can be done merely by use of 'case' structure preceding the Graph, where case structure decides which plot to pass into the 3D graph?

    Hello mjoler,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
The following example will show you how to plot multiple 3D plots on a single 3D graph. Modeling your VI after the example may also alleviate the instability that you have been experiencing.

As far as the error you are receiving, it's difficult to say what could be causing this. ActiveX controls embedded on a front panel sometimes do not display on a remote client because they draw and operate almost completely independent of LabVIEW. If possible, try remotely controlling your VI with a client computer that has a complete installation of LabVIEW. The error could also be a bu

    Hello Xia
According to the error log , if you observe one statement " WDDynamicRFCExecuteException " which  you already handled this exception in your BAPI execution method using TRY CATCH block. There is nothing wrong in  the code.
    1) Problem is mainly because of your NETWORK , if the network speed is slow, user's request will not reach the backend ,at that time you will get this error message.
What to do : Just refresh the screen once , you will get the result , (But you will lose the data if you are in middle of something)

  • Run time binding error

ok so i have made a non visual component
    with 3 input in properties
    1)_input
    2)_check
    3)_output
    it works fine
the problem is when i preview it the output is shown in the cells
howerver when i try to change the checkpropertiy using a button or anythin ..... the value changes but commitproperties is not called and hence the output remains the same
now to check the problem i put an alert statement in the set function of checkproperty .... well that doesn't show .... so basically when i change the values at runtime .... the sette or getter is not called

Thanks, that worked.  I created a utility VI that opens a reference to the main VI, gets the control references, and then applies the binding method.  So the moral of the story for me is that the main VI can be editing programatically or manually.  In either case the main VI is still in edit mode.  Now I can just run this utility VI rather than rebinding all the controls manually each time I push out an update.  I attached an example for anyone who is interested.

  • Why am I getting Run-time menu error (Error 88 occurred at One or more illegal menu item index in...) in my built application (single .exe) , but don't get any error when running/debugging it?

I am using LabVIEW 6.02 & also downloaded the application builder patch. For my runtime menus, I've a subVI that first calls "Delete Menu Items.vi" to get rid of the standard menu items and then "Insert Menu Items.vi" to add my own. I only get an error when I try to run the built application.

There was a similar issue in LabVIEW 5.0 where you would get the error if you passed an empty array to the 'items' input of Delete Menu Items. This was corrected in version 5.0.1. Did you mass compile your VI's after upgrading to version 6.0.2?
I tried to reproduce the problem in a small VI but was not successful. I can run an executable built from this example without any problems. I am attaching it for you to test.
