Receive error "bobj undefined" after deploying Web app to Win 2008 server

Developed Asp 2 app in a Windows 2003 server environment with VS 2005 and an upgraded full version of Crystal Reports 2008.
Installed full version of Crystal Reports 2008 on Windows server 2008.
Copied Web app over to Windows 2008 server.
App comes up fine until I attempt to display a report where I receive the bobj undefined error.
Searched the forums and found that the majority of the problems are caused by the Aspnet_Client folder not being copied to c:\inetpub\wwwroot folder.
The folder already exists and is populated. Just to be sure I copied the aspnet_client folder from the development environment over to Windows 2008.  Still get error.
Installed vs2005 on Windows 2008 and applied all the necessary patches. Opened the Web app project and ran within VS 2005. Get same error "bobj undefined".
Checked versions in Web.config for app as well as assembly entries in c:\windows\assemblies, c:\Windows\Microsoft .NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\ASP.NETClientFiles and all reflect the correct version 12.

Well it appears that the problem is fixed. The issue was tha aspnet_client folder was indeed copied to c:\inetpub\wwwroot folder but the folder did not show up under the default Web site as a virtual directory in the IIS Service Manager.
I created the virtual directory aspnet_client and pointed it to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client folder and now my reports render without error.
I will try deploying the app to another VMWare Windows 2008 server and see if this will work. I don't want to have VS 2005 installed on the production system so I need to be sure that I only require the installation of the full version of Crystal Reports 2008. I am assuming the Crystal Reports runtime will also be installed.
Installed full version of Crystal Reports 2008.
Created virtual directory aspnet_client
Copied ASP app over
Reports now work.
It appears that the Crystal Reports 2008 install can't create the virual directory aspnet_client on IIS7.

  • Deployed web app can't be server default?

    hey folks.
    i've deployed a web app (i can see it in the console under "web
    apps").
    i want to make this web app the default for my server. i went
    to the "target" tab for the web app and made my server the target.
    however, when i go to my server's HTTP page, there's nothing but
    "none" in the "default web application" pulldown.
    anyone have a clue? if you have this working, can you show me
    the xml from config.xml? i will just enter it manually if all
    else fails.
    thanks in advance,

    Hi, Gene.
    Check with support. Switching the default webapp by modifying config.xml is
    more compilicated than I descripted in my post. I wish support could address
    this regression ASAP.

    This seems like a pretty serious regression!
    I created a new war directory (testwar), and tried manually modifyingconfig.xml to switch to a new
    DefaultWebApp, called "testwar". Unfortunately, I get the followingcomplaint of mbean unable to
    find "testwar" component when I restart the server. I looked inconfig.xml and sure enough,
    "testwar" component isn't registered there; seems like the admin serverwas able to detect my
    creation of a new war directory, gives me the message that testwar isdeployed, but did not write
    this info into config.xml!
    This is another reason why manual editting of config.xml is unadvisable,and that this regression
    further exacerbates the problem! Is there a quick patch fix to this???

    It is a bug in SP1. We just create a case. At the same time, you can use
    your editor to open config.xml, search the following section:
    <WebServer
    ClusteringEnabled="true"
    Targets="mycluster"
    />
    Add or modify following line:
    <WebServer
    ClusteringEnabled="true"
    DefaultWebApp="myWebApp"
    Targets="mycluster"
    />

    Thanks. I find the issue. Should only deploy ViewController project to war and don't deploy Model project at all. Let Application level deployment take care of it.
    Beside, I have a question, I currently deploy inside JDeveloper. In my standalone WLS, I deploy some of my shared library. Is there any way to specify the shared library name (goes into weblogic-application.xml) when I deploying inside JDeveloper? Or I have to deploy to ear file first, unzip, update weblogic-applciation.xml and zip up the ear file and deploy the ear file to standalone WLS by hand?

  • Data sources in deploying web app. to Oracle Application Server

    I am using simple web application - JSP with BC4J (JDeveloper 9.0.5.1).
    I want to configure my application to use Data Source instead of JDeveloper connection and deploy it to production database, so DB administrator will take care of username and password.
    First, I create a new application module configuration that uses a data source instead of a JDeveloper connection with BC config. name TestAppModuleWithDS.
    Then I modify my application client (DataBindings.cpx) to use the new configuration (TestAppModuleWithDS).
    After that I create deployment profile and deploy to application server connection and try to test it on standalone server, and on production server together with my DBA.
    But the application is not running, always displaying error messages...
    Please what is the procedure and how to set Config of ApplModule.
    It is working properly with embeded server, but on standalone server there is an error:

    iAS 1.0.x is StoneAge Technology (TM).
    Using the E-Business Suite you should look into the newer versions of the Application Server. I believe that 10.1.2.x supports the EBS, otherwise 9.04 should do the trick. Webservice support is much better in the newer versions. 1.0.x is from around 2000/2001 so the Webservice technology back than was "different" :-)

  • (Re)Deploying web apps under [/] on SJSAS PE8

    I need some help on deploying web app under root []of the default virtual server.
    The problem is when specifying "Default Web Module" for the virtual servers I guess...
    How can I use asadmin or Ant task to deploy a directory under / ?
    Is it possible to use asadmin to specify virtual server's "Default Web Module" without restarting it.
    The optimal goal is to have ability to deploy/redeploy/undeploy a web app under / via ant task without restarting the domain itself....
    How can I accomplish this under SJSAS PE8?
    Any help on this topic is appreciated...

    You may want to look at the responses in this thread:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=529445&tstart=0&trange=50
    This thread may also be helpful:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=526094&tstart=0&trange=15
    Note:
    If the "redirect" that happens when you try to access the "docroot" of the admin instance is acceptable behavior, you may want to look at the differences between the 'server' and __asadmin Virtual Server.
    While you can do that with any text editor, I would suggest that you use the admin console app to do this.
    By deleting the docroot property and setting the default web module property you may be able to get the behavior you want.
    You will have to deploy the web app, with a context-root that is NOT / and restart the app server.
    You should be able to redeploy your web app "normally" after that, though....

  • Help using JMX to Get Context of Deployed Web Apps

    I think this question is more of a JMX question that anything else (like a JNDI question), so I am posting here. If anyone feels this should be posted elsewhere, please let me know.
    I want to be able to get a handle to each deployed web app's context, so that I may get a BasicDataSource from it, then look at the connection attributes inside of that BasicDataSource, i.e., Number of active connections, number of idle connections, etc. for each deployed web app.
    This is the path I am heading down (if there is another way, please let me know). The code below is inside of a JSP running inside of a web app within my Tomcat 5.0.16 server, running JDK 1.4.2.
    Here is the entire JSP...
    <%@ page import="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource,
                     javax.naming.InitialContext,
                     javax.naming.Context,
                     javax.management.ObjectName,
                     javax.management.MBeanServer,
                     java.util.Set,
                     org.apache.catalina.mbeans.MBeanUtils,
                     java.util.Iterator,
                     javax.management.ObjectInstance,
                     org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext"%>
    <html>
        <head>
            <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="3"> <!-- refresh every 3 seconds -->
        </head>
        <body>
    <%
        //InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
        //Context envCtx = (Context) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env");
        String dsName = "";//"jdbc/raptor";
        String appName = "";//(String) envCtx.lookup("appName");
        BasicDataSource ds = null;//(BasicDataSource) envCtx.lookup(dsName);
        MBeanServer mBeanServer = MBeanUtils.createServer();
        ObjectName oname = new ObjectName("*:j2eeType=WebModule,*");
        Set contexts = mBeanServer.queryMBeans(oname, null);
        Iterator it = contexts.iterator();
        while(it.hasNext()) {
            ObjectInstance oi = (ObjectInstance)it.next();
            ObjectName cname = oi.getObjectName();
            System.out.println(">>> cname = " + cname.toString()); // this prints something like this: Catalina:j2eeType=WebModule,name=//localhost/accesstracker,J2EEApplication=none,J2EEServer=none
                Is this the right way to do this??? I seem to be getting the web app, I just want to be able to
                get a handle to that web app's context, get a BasicDataSource from it, then look at the connection
                attributes inside of that BasicDataSource, i.e., Number of active connections, number of idle

    %>
        </body>
    </html>The above JSP will output all of the info for each deployed web app, however, when it gets to getting the Context of the web app, it simply outputs information repeatedly for the web app this JSP is in (which makes sense since I'm using InitialContext).
    I appreciate any help anyone could provide.
    Thank you

    If you want your application to work only with specific JRE version, you should use static versioning. I installed JRE 1.3.1_15 and JRE 5.0U5 , both of them works successfully. I used the below syntax to load applets:
    for 1.3.1_15:
    <object

  • LMS 3.2 on Win 2008 Server - Web Server Issue

    Hi,
    I just installed LMS 3.2 on Windows 2008 Server Standart X64 and the CiscoWorks Web Server service does not start (Apache service is down but Tomcat up).
    All other services seem to be correctly started even if this is quit long.
    When I try to manually start the Apache Service with "pdexec Apache", i got :
    ERROR:Get reply from server failed:
    ERROR: Daemon Manager startup in progress. Please wait.
    When the deamon is up, the second line disapeared but apache is still not responding and of course, the URL is unreachable.
    This is a HP Proliant Server with 12Go RAM, is there a maximal size for the paging file ?
    I did not modify TMP and TEMP variable, should I have done it before the installation ?
    it appears to be some service startup issue on win 2008, is there bug fix or work around ?
    pdshow attached
    Thanks for your help, this is quit urgent.
    Cedric.

    >>>  is there a maximal size for the paging file ?
    There's indeed a swap file issue with Win 2008. See the first reply in this thread for corrective action: https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/675893#675891
    Though it may not apply, because you've installed LMS 3.2 ok, since you seem to be aware of it, the TMP/TEMP variables do need to be shortened, as noted in this post: https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/677383#677383
    Is your Win 2008 Server running any Microsoft Service Packs? Because AFAIK Win 2008 SP2 is not yet supported, and no one seems to have any luck on it with LMS 3.2 yet.
    After LMS 3.2 is up and running, if you can't log in to the web GUI, you might be running into the CSCtb17186 bug, described in this post: https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/676256#676256

    What could be wrong? I have tried shutting down the J2EE engine and re-starting. I have also tried to bounce the server the J2EE is on. Still no luck. I see a ClassNotFoundException for com.eac.vendor.model.Viqmel, but Viqmel is not part of the package anyway?!?!?! What's really weird is that it was working fine a few hours ago! Please help!!
    Kunal.

    Hi Guys,
    Here's how I solved it, actually this was quite a random solution!
    1. I undeployed the application from SDM
    2. I shut down and restarted the J2EE Engine.
    3. I re-imported the Model.
    4. I rebuilt, recreated the archive and re-deployed the app.
    And to my surprise it started working again.
    Thanks to all of you that replied.

    Arun,
    Do you see the application status active in the Admin console?
    Are you testing the web application by typing the complete URL in the browser that includes the name of the webpage including the context root , ipaddress/hostname and port number of Server..?
    404 indicates application doesn't exist.
    Please share the URL you are testing.
    Please check the server log if you found any deployment issues when deploying your application?
    Thanks,
    Vijaya

    I am using netbeans 6.5.1. The java EE Version is configured to J2EE 1.3 and JDK version is 1.4.2 for the project.
    The application server is WebLogic 8.1.
    On deploying get the error "ServletContext(id=18276115,name=WebApplication3,context-path=/)]: Deployment descriptor "jar:file:<file path>/.wlnotdelete/extract/EdcSrv1_WebApplication3_WebApplication3/jarfiles/WEB-INF/lib/standard.jar!/META-INF/c.tld" is malformed. Check against the DTD: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'taglib'. (line 6, column 19)"
    The same error is repeated for x.tld, fn.tld, fmt.tld, scriptfree.tld, sql.ltd
    Checked web.xml file and does not have any taglib tags.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">

            <param-value>client</param-value>
        </context-param> ....will post the entire file if required.
    do i need to manually add the taglib tags?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • Error after deploying Web Part

    Hi ,,
     I am Preparing my Company Portal using SharePoint 2013 ,
      I install sharepoint and Sql in same Server .
     Then I create my web application and siteCollection and everything is fine.
    Next I develop a custom Webpart using VisulaStudio 2012 which read the data from another Server ,
    and I test the Webpart in standalone machine and it's work fine.
    when I deploy the WebPart to my Real server , It dos't fetch the data. I put the Connection String in IIS and I put the Identity in application pool same  User which I put it in SharePoint wizard that Run all the service ,
    I try to logging to that server using the same Username and everything is fine.
    I get Confused why it's not work and I already have Sharepoint2010  portal with The same webpart it's work Fine
    Why it dose't fetch the Data?
    Is there any setting I miss It?

    Hi,
    Is there Alternate Access Mapping set on the real server , if yes you need to give the AAM Url or find the actual site url in Alternate access mapping manage page.

    you are probably using a older version of 6.1. please use the latest service pack. Service Packs are mostly bug fix releases and they are safe to be upgraded even on production systems. Please note - we always recommend using the latest service pack
