Receive fax via bluetooth z520a

How can I receive a fax via my cell phone connected bluetooth to my mac?
I can iSync the z520a with my mac to update address book and calendar without a problem. What are the steps to use the bluetooth z520a as a modem and in what program to receive a fax?

I have not successfully faxed via my 8100 Blackberry. I haven't really found anything conclusive on the web that you can. Here is what I did try this weekend:
* Blackberry 8100 on T-Mobile
* No data services enabled
* MacBook White running 10.5.4
Steps...
1) Paired cell phone to Mac.
2) Sending files worked great (once I allowed it in the Mac firewall)
3) I configured the BT connection from BT preferences on the Mac.
4) I went to add a fax and BT was on the list. Also the blackberry had a separate line item as well.
5) I added both (at different times) as a fax.
6) I faxed a document.
7) Fax monitor program started up.
8) I saw some BT activity indicated by the BT icon in the menu bar at the top of OSX.
9) fax monitor put the fax "on hold".
That was as far as I got. Maybe this will help stimulate the conversation or help answer some questions. One thing I was unsure about was whether the blackberry port should be RS232 or Modem.

  • Fax via Bluetooth on Blackberry

I've googled and found instructions on how to fax via bluetooth according to this doc:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301077
But when I try to add the fax.ppd file, it isn't in the folder. I've tried to spotlight search for it, but it's no where on my computer. Does anyone know where to get this file. Or better yet, the proper way to fax via Bluetooth???

N72 - I can't locate receiving files via Bluetooth to the location I need

    I'm afraid not.
This is the safties way, when you receive some files via BT. You should have control over it. In otherway someone can place some unwanted, dangerous file e.g. virus.
You can decide, delete it or record, and where. But notice, that when you open such a BT message, phone recognise art of file and prompt you where it store.

I cannot send or receive files via bluetooth on my new iphone 4

That's because file transfer by bluetooth is not supported by the iPhone. These are the only supported bluetooth profiles:

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    See this KB:
KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones
If your other device is non-BB, then substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device. Unless you are on BB OS 6 or 7, do not skip the "Receive Using BlueTooth" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do.

  • E71 not receiving images via bluetooth

I tried sending images to my E71 via bluetooth but its not receiving.
It is ok for videos or for sound files, but its receiving any images.
I tried from many devices but it didnt work.
Sending images via bluetooth is ok. Only its not receiving. What to do?

I have a problem with sending images or videos. It sends randomly one or two maybe three but it won't sent all cause it blocks the process. And whan it blocks I have to cancel it, turn off bluetooth and than turn on an try again. But I still didnt succeed to send my video (~17Mb).

  • Transferring/Receiving Photos via Bluetooth

Is there a way iPhone could send pics to another phone via bluetooth? Checked the manual, and it seems there is no indication this basic function could be done. Also, it seems iPhone could not receive pics from other phone.

  • Can't receive files via bluetooth from my mobile phone

    Hi there,
I can't manage to send files from my phone to my MacBook Pro via bluetooth. I have (correctly, IMHO) set the bluetooth sharing options but my phone still can't send files to the laptop. However, I can send stuff from the Mac to the phone. It's a really weird issue, someone could help?

    Hi LadyMarwood,
I think the best solution for your problem is to try 'Photostream'. You can find this in iPhoto. Since it is photos you are trying to transfer, I think this is the best solution. If you have an active internet connection at home, the photos taken on any of your Apple products will be transferred throughout each device incuding your Mac. This is what I use to access all my photos on any device (iPad). If this is the kind of solution you are looking at, heres the process:
Go into 'Settings' --> iCloud --> And select Photos there by ticking --> Click 'Options' if you've got it on there and select both 'My Photostream' and 'Photo Sharing'.
Now, open up iPhoto --> Click on 'iPhoto' on the menu tab (to the left of the top of the screen) and click on preferences from the drop down menu --> Go into iCloud and select all the options.
The next step is to go to your iPhone and make sure that Photostream is turned on there as well. To do this, go into 'Settings' --> iCloud --> Photos --> and make sure that both 'My Photostream' and 'Photo Sharing' is turned on.
I think this the best alternative, since I too am an Android mobile owner, and I have to say that I prefer the Photostream option better than any method android offers, just because its in one safe and secure place to access all your photos at anytime and it is an option directly offered by Apple. JUST MAKESURE THAT YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION PROVIDES YOU WITH ENOUGH DATA, SINCE PHOTOSTREAMING DOES TAKE LARGE AMOUNTS TO UPLOAD YOUR PHOTOS, AND YOU DON'T WANT A HUGE BILL COMING OUT.
    But hope this helps!

  • Receiving faxes via voip?

I recent set up a Vonage account so that I could send/receive faxes and I haven't been able to receive any, I've sent one though.
I have my Print & Fax set up in System Prefs to use the internal modem and have the boxes checked for what I want, etc. but nothing is being emailed to me or saved on the hard drive and the sender gets error messages about it not getting through.
I've been looking around online since yesterday and haven't found anything helpful.
    Thanks in advance!
    -Cassie

I contacted Vonage "live chat" support and that person said I do not need to pay for the extra fax line and said it should be working and to send an email to their tech support which I did. Once I get an "actual" answer I'll post back here in case someone else has an issue later one.
I really don't want to pay $35 a month so that the person I work with/for can fax things instead of scanning/emailing like she has been doing for the last couple years. lol

  • Macbook Pro won't receive files via bluetooth

Strangely, I can browse devices, and send to them, but never receive from anyone's phone including my own. It seems one way.
I have deleted all relevant preferences. Phones, etc. are paired, and the Macbook is discoverable, but a phone always says "send error", and the bluetooth activity sign appears on the Mac menubar, and then reverts to normal immediately.
Any thoughts as to the best troubleshooting pathway for this over what I have done already?
    Many thanks.
    JKB

Here is the solution... Despite my faith in online support, apple's one really works!
