Received Alert after installing X11

Hello all-
I've just installed X11 off of the Tiger install disc and all seemingly went well until directly after the install and I got this alert:
Alert
You have an existing ~/.xinitrc File.
Windows displayed by X11 applications may not have titlebars, or may look different to windows dispalyed by native applications.
Would you like to move aside the existing file and use the standard X11 environment?
I have no idea what a ~/.xinitrc file is and if it might be important. I've looked for it in the computer and in the forum and no luck. So, what should I do? I am trying to use Gimp (my first time for that as well). Basically I need to know if answering YES to this is potentially going to screw with another application I have installed on my MBP, and there are many. Any and all help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the quick responses you guys. All seems to be running well now. Littleshoulders your link to Macworld was just the fix I needed, so thank you. And Grant Bennet-Alder you were totally right about the update, I never would have checked for it automatically otherwise and I'm sure it will be needed shortly. Now I can play with Gimp to my hearts content. I'm a happy woman.

Cannot send or receive mail after installing iOS6 on iPhone4.
All email accounts are still fine and not lost but ever since I installed iOS6 I cannot send any new email and I am not receiving either. That includes my Exchange, Yahoo and Hotmail. I didn't loose any old email in my Inboxes.

I am having a similar problem. I have iPhone 4 with the updated iOS6 and a Hotmail account. Mail had been working after the update, but I noticed that wasn't really pushing my mail like it used to before the update. I wouldn't get notifications after the update and when I open the Mail app, it would take much longer to download emails. I decided to remove my Hotmail account and then re-add the account to the phone to see if that would fix the problem. No such luck. Now I have zero emails in my inbox on my phone when there is new email sitting in my Hotmail inbox on my laptop. I've tried to delete and add the account multiple times now while rebooting the device and nothing changes...I've looked into other fixes mentioned here that say to change the settings on cellular date, airplane mode, push vs fetch, etc. and nothing is working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Receiving error after installing TimesTen update via "Check For Updates"

After applying the automatic update, I'm getting this error every time I start SQL Developer:
SEVERE 131 0 oracle.dbtools.raptor.timesten.TTAddin Cannot find TimesTen JDBC jar files in CLASSPATH

I'm guessing that you have not installed the TimesTen In Memory Database?
I got the same error because I have not installed TimesTen either.
You can easily disable the extension by Tools -> Preferences ->Extensions and uncheck the TimesTen one.
If you have installed TimesTen, I think that you need to add the jar files to your classpath environment variable ;-)

HT203242 iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.

I have the solution.
Uninstall Itunes.
That is what I did and my disc burner works fine. I am gonna wait for Apple to come up with a solution. So if there is no solution that means no Itunes which means no Iphone or Ipod and time to move on to a comany that has solutions not year old posts that most people cannot decipher and won't be able to fix on their own.

Wac discovery has failed Alerts form all mailbox/cas servers after installing CU5

Is anyone else seeing this alert after installing CU5?
Everything works normally.. Just the odd new alert.
Each of the 6 servers issues this alert about once a day.
Will simply setting the WACdiscoveryEndpoint clear this up?

We do not have OWAS and do not integrate it with Exchange, so we do not need to monitor health of this item.
After checking exchange health I decided to disable monitoring for
WacDiscoveryFailureEventDiscovery by editing xml file.
Browse to %ExchangeInstallationPath%\Microsoft\Exchange\V15\Bin\Monitoring\Config\
and edit WacDiscoveryFailureEventDiscovery.xml file by changing:

Enabled ="true" /> to Enabled ="false" />
Save the file and restart the Microsoft Exchange Health Management service on the server where you modified the .xml file. There should be no downtime applying this change and restarting the service.
This needs to be changed on all servers.

Vf_vmnic linkstate alerts after vMotion

We upgraded our UCS infrastructure from 2.1 (1f) -> 2.1 (3c). Ever since we've started receiving linkstate down/up alerts from vCenter whenever a VM is vMotion'ed. We're not doing high performance / DirectPath I/O.
I understand with the nature of dynamic vNIC's, these linkstate changes are normal with a vMotion. What I don't understand is why we only started receiving alerts after the upgrade. I've had a case open with Cisco TAC for more than 2 months, they can't reproduce the behavior - though their test environment is running 2.2 and they don't want to downgrade.
Does anyone know how to suppress these messages? Either from the UCS or ESXi side of things? We get a couple dozen emails each day due to this from vCOPS, and unfortunately vCOPS notifications aren't flexible enough to weed them out. I've been told vCOPS v6 contains a complete retooling of the notification system, but the beta isn't due until the end of the year.

ISE advanced eval license alerts after full base install.

Has anyone had an issue with the advanced eval license triggering the below alerts after a full base license has been installed and the advanced eval license has expired?
How can I keep the license expiration warnings and avoid receiving warnings for an expired eval licence?
This is on Cisco ISE Software Version 1.2.0 full running on a ISE-3315-K9. There is no requirement to go to a full advanced license.

Gary,
The way to supress this message is to disable the License Expiration Alarm.
To do this, go to Administration > System > Settings. Choose Alarm Settings from the Left Menu.
Scroll down and select Licensing | License Expiration from the list of Alarms.
Click the Edit Button and use the dropdown to change the Status to Disable. Click Submit and you're done.
I would then set a Calendar reminder through Outlook (or on your phone) to enable this feature once the expiration date for your Advance License has passed.

Well, whichever device you uncheck = exclude from calendars (and reminders) via iCloud will be excluded as both, receiver and sender. It's an "all or nothing", I guess. Otherwise it'd get more complicated, and the support calls could easily fill an extra forum...
@lmp68: don't think iTunes is it, in the days of iCloud that would sure take quite an extra effort, if possible at all.

After installing IOS6 on my iphone 4 and my daughters iphone 4s we have this wonderful connection that we would like to break. We are now seeing/receiving each others text messages. I love my daughter but I don't really want to get all of her text messages from her friends and I don't really want to read every response she sends. Additionally, she can also see my text messages and there are times I really don't need for her to know everything that I am doing.

Get your Apple ID sort out.
Only use the same Apple ID in Settings > iTunes & App Stores to share purchases, no where else.

My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.

Microsoft's Help site states that this error occurs when a driver attempts to access the C++ library without a "Manifest". I do not know what a manifest is, but apparently any attempt to directly access the C++ library is not permitted. The site instructs the viewer to contact the application developer.

Thanks but I don't think this will help. Like I said, all of my add-ons were working fine and compatible until after running a previous version of FF. I am sure they are still compatible, but they are not working at all.
I even checked my profile folder and all of the extensions' data is all still there but FF5 is just not reading it correctly. (like adblock plus... I see the folder for it but FF5 doesn't have it on the add-on manager page when I run FF5)

Outlook in Office 2007 stopped receiving email after April 2014 update installed
