Received alert on Safari saying had 2 viruses Browser.highjackerspy/trojan.fakeAV-download. Is this legitimate?

I received an alert supposedly from Safari about 2 viruses which should be removed and was given a phone number to call. Is this legitimate?

No. Do not phone them. You will find them trying to sell you expensive and useless (and probably dangerous) virus removal software. There are no viruses in the wild (i.e. outside laboratories) affecting Macs.

• How to uninstall malicious viruses Rootkit.Sirefef.Spy and Trojan.FakeAV Download

I got a screen that states Warning: System may have found viruses on your computer. It references Rootkit.Sirefef.Spy and Trojan.FakeAV-Download.
I can no longer get onto Safari without directing me to the address:
macibr.com/mac/ibr-2?sub_id=008612858011772470948
There is a pop up window that reads:
WARNING! Please Install Update To Continue.
How do I get rid of this warning? There isn't an appointment in the Apple store for two days.
Anyone had experience with this?

These are most likely scams. Ignore them. You do not have to do a thing.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.
You Don’t Have a Virus and Don’t Pay Money to Remove
This is not a virus nor is it pop-up adware. Fortunately, it doesn’t affect anything but the browser, and it can be easily removed.
If it has opened a tab or window, then close the window by pressing COMMAND-W. A large box may pop open. Press the RETURN key which should dismiss the box and close the page.
If the above does not work then try the following:
1. Select Safari preferences. Click on the Security icon in the toolbar.
2. Locate the checkbox labeled, Enable JavaScript, and uncheck the box. Do not
close the preferences dialog.
3. Close the bad window or tab.
4. Re-check the JavaScript box and close the preferences dialog.
If the Preferences menuitem is inactive then quit or force quit Safari. Run Safari by holding down the SHIFT key while clicking Safari’s Dock icon. Select Safari preferences and click on the Privacy icon in the toolbar. At the top is a dropdown menu labeled, “Cookies and other website date.” Click on the Remove All Website Data… button.
Check your Downloads folder for anything you don’t recognize or remember downloading and delete it.
Also see: I just got a "warning: system may have found viruses on your computer" message on safari.

i had to reset my pc cos there was a virus in it. i downloaded itunes and downloaded all my purchases and synced my iphone back in and had to put all my cds back in and everything. but i cant seem to find where the ringtone i bought it. it worked fine before i synced my iphone back into the new virus free computer. i can see it in the ringtones tab but its grey and i cant access it. can somebody help please?

Unless you saved them somewhere you need to download and pay again. There is currently no way to just get them again. You can create your own ringtones

• I received an e-mail from apple store asking for billing information update. Is this legitimate

I received an e-mail from apple store telling mr that my account billing information is out of date. Is this legitimate

If it has a link than most likely no. For example
It has come to our attention that your billing information is out of date. To fix this, refer to the link below
That is most likely a scam and you should not click on it. It would help if you provided a copy of the email, just to be sure.

i have a license for all adobe files but recently i had a virus and all my files were deleted. Now when i want to have them back with my redemption code it says that i cannot use it anymore. But my license is not expired. How do i get my files back??

Your redemption code was used to acquire an activation code. The activation code is what you need to use when you want to reinstall/enable the software again. Check your Adobe account online to see if the number(s) can be found there.

If you suspect malware issue, Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

Help
WiFi only works close to router, DNS fail, Signal Bars present but Safari says no Internet, I've deleted and re-added through to reset and full reset, I had no problem with 4.3.2 only 4.3.3 both my iPhone4 and my iPad2. I am now beside router - no problem, but go 20 metres and WiFi becomes unstable. Only way to get either to work is disable WiFi either as a Hot Spot or turn it off and use the 3G connection. This worked with 4.3 & 4.3.2 what has gone wrong? I raised it at the Apple Store in Belfast as a problem but was told that there was no problem with Apple but I must have a faulty router - yeah - that's a lot of faulty routers, my home, my office, my holiday home, Starbucks, my friends house, my son's house. I've tried all the 'fixes'. I think it is a plan to force us to buy Apple Routers

Two ways out, I added two more Belkin Access Points in my house in Spain so that I'm not more than 10Mtrs away, (Reinforced Concrete & solar glass 2010)
I bought 3 Apple Airports, 1 x Extreme and 2 x Express (1 as a hard wired AP, 1 as an extender) for my other house (Brick construction 1930's)
Everthing now works perfectly, as I said 'an apple plot', so either blast them with signal or visit your nearest apple store.
Early beta iOS5 (iPad) is also much inproved in Beta 3, I have not had any problem with 'Lion'
Happy hunting!

Reinstall OS X. That will also reinstall a new copy of Safari for you.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utiliities to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery.
