Received approval notice but podcast not showing up in iTunes

Greetings,
My podcast was approved today but hasn't shown up in the store via the link given.  When clicked it gives a "The item you've requested is not currently available" message. For reference, here's the link I was given as well as my feed:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/seek-and-destroy/id792528292
http://seekanddestroy.libsyn.com/rss
Does it usually take a while for the podcast to show up in the store?  The email said a few hours, but its now going on 6 hours since I received the email and the link still isn't working.
Thanks!
Brett

As an update, the podcast is now searchable and the page shows the three current episodes.  The original link is the only thing that is not currently working, and still gives the "not available" message.

When I try to sync my music on my iPhone 4 I have a tab at the top that says 'on this iPhone'.  This is at the end of all the other tabs like info, ringtones, music etc. The music in that tab is always on my phone but does not show in my itunes library.  How can I get it into my library?  It doesn't sync either.

The new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version.  You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes.  Or you can adapt to the new look.

  • Podcasts not Showing up In Itunes

I had an issue with a damaged itl file - seemed to have recovered by that by copying the damaged itl file over the new one that was created.
However, I have a lot of podcasts on my computer which I can see in my itunes music/podcasts directory. However, these are not showing up in itunes under the podcasts directory. Also none of my subscriptions are showing up. Any ideas on how to fix this.
    Thank you!

  • Descriptions of individual episodes of my podcast NOT showing up in iTunes Store Listing

    Podcast feed: http://talkradiomeltdown.com/podcast.xml
    Feedburner variant feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/talkradiomeltdown
    Store listing: http://talkradiomeltdown.com/itunes
I have coded my podcast feed entirely by myself, using the template provided here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#example
While checking my feed in the iTunes Store recently, I have noticed that after Episode 64, the descriptions for each individual episodes are displayed as "--", and I am not seeing a link to open descriptions of these individual episodes in a new window. This appears to be a recent problem.
I am noticing no difference in XML code between Episode 64 and Episode 65, as the template is unchanged with each update to the feed. However, I have noticed that, when checking my feed through FeedValidator.org, I receive this message:
"Your feed appears to be encoded as "UTF-8", but your server is reporting "US-ASCII"
I have attempted to rectify this issue, but to no avail. I wonder if it is causing this issue to occur. Again, this appears to be recent. Last I checked the Store listing for my podcast (a few weeks ago), I was seeing descriptions for each individual episode.

Don't worry about the Feedvalidator error.
The Store is using the feed at http://talkradiomeltdown.com/podcast.xml - the Feedburner feed doesn't come into it.
Not filling in the 'itunes:subtitle' tag is what's caused the problem. When subscribing, the 'Description' column is presumably populated by the 'description' tag in the absence of the proper one, but the Store is not doing this.
Oddly enough your latest episode does have the 'itunes:subtitle' tag but it's not showing in the Store - did you add it subsequent to posting the episode? - if that's the case the Store will pick it up when you post a new episode.

  • Podcast not showing up in itunes search after 1 week

i submitted my podcast with one episode and it was accepted on 17 july. i am able to get to it in the itunes store by using the url as provided in the email.
    iTunes Store Welcome
    Dear Podcast Owner
Your podcast, located at [ http://feeds.feedburner.com/meterdown ], has been approved. You should expect to see it in iTunes within the next few hours. When it's available, you will be able to access it with the URL below.
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=260194221
i have put an icon with that url in my blog (meterdown.wordpress.com) and that works fine. people are taken to the podcast in the itunes store and can subscribe.
however when i search the store, my podcast is not turning up either by podcast name (meter down) or by author/artist name (kabi) or by keyword (taxi, bombay, hindi).
I can ping using the podcast ID (id=nnn) and it returns the podcast feed url (http://feeds.feedburner.com/meterdown) and the podcast ID.
it doesn't list an episode however. is it supposed to?
my main question is "why am i not showing up in the search?"
is there something wrong in my xml? I host at switchpod and run it thru feedburner and I use the feedburner feed.
i have read and read the forums here, feedburner, podcast alley and also am emailing switchpod support. still can't figure it out.
    thanks

    ssukotto,
Thanks for the information. What you mention is boilerplate that is automatically sent when a new podcast is approved. I also quoted it like scripture before diving deeper into researching this issue.
The research into this problem suggests that there is a minimum number of podcasts in order to be included in the search index (or at least the search results) whether it's undocumented or unintentional.
Case in point, Meter Down posted his first complaint that his podcast hadn't shown up in the search even after a week (far outside the 24-48 hours you mention and that is documented)..that was a week ago. A total of at least two weeks that his podcast could not be found by searching by the exact title. His podcast showed up search within a day after adding his second episode (yesterday).
Jerry Pine posted July 17 that his podcast "Everything Algae" had been approved July 13 but couldn't be found by searching...even by name. July 28th, he added a second episode as a test...and his podcast became searchable.
There are several others who went for days or weeks without being listed in search results by even searching for their exact podcast title...common trait between all of them was that they only had one episode. They added a second episode and within the day they show up in search results.
There are others that had newly submitted podcasts whose podcasts showed up within the 24-48 hours timeframe...but they had at least two episodes.
I'm just providing the facts...could be coincidence that they just happened to be searchable just after posting a second episode.
I'd invite you to read through and share with the iTunes podcast developers the several thread from various people who have reported problems with having a searchable podcasts and draw your own conclusions.

  • Created Podcast Not showing up in Itunes Store...

Hi Gang...I was wondering does anyone know y my created podcasts are not showing up in the itunes store...my rss feed has been validated and i am able myself to subscribe to it...but when i do a search it does not come up and doesnt show....also how can i find out if ppl have downloaded and listened to my show...my rss feed is jason1977.libsyn.com/rss

When I first created my podcast, I noticed quite a bit of lag between the time my feed got accepted and the time when it would be found when i did a search on iTunes... I think it was like 2 days before a search on my name or the name of my podcast would bring up my feed.
Give it a little while to all come together.

  • Song PLAYS but does not show up in iTunes

I have an mp3.  I right click on it, select "open with iTunes" and then iTunes begins playing the song.  however, it does not show up in the song list with the other songs. You can see the title up in the top, where it shows the song thats playing, but it is not in the song list!   When I search my iTunes for the song, it does not appear.  What's going on?

What format files are these?  If WMA the Mac version of iTunes cannot read those.  If WAV they will transfer without labels (tags) because WAV does not support tags.
Have you looked in the Recently Added folder just to make sure they didn't end up with labels you weren't expecting?

  • Ipod Nano detected by Windows & Itunes but Does not Show up in Itunes

    Please help....
Brand new Ipod Nano 1 gig.
Shows up in itunes when I go under help and the diagnostics tab...(itunes fully updated)
    Shows up in my computer
    did the drive letter thing
turned the power option for the my usb to always on...
The diagnostics from itunes shows I'm runnning firmware version 1.1 on my ipod nano which makes sense because I'm unable to update the software because itunes will not recognize it in the main menu.
I have another ipod hooked up to this computer occassionally.
Not at the same time though....
    Please help!

Thanks!  For whatever bizarre reason for which I have no answer - I sync'd my iPad to my MBP the old fashion way (not iCloud) and the movie showed up just fine.  It is Nikon camera 'how to' video. I like to watch them for a better indepth discovery of what the camera can do.  The only weird thing about the hard wire sync is that it was placed in a catagory "home movies" which was never there before...actually it showed up in two places "home movies" and TV shows.
    So, thanks anyway!  Pretty cat!

  • New podcasts not showing up in iTunes

    http://rototalk.com/?feed=podcast
My feed had been working fine in iTunes until I uploaded a new episode yesterday.  However, this new episode (#8) is not appearing in iTunes (or stitcher for that matter, which I was just approved for yesterday).
Feed Validator is also saying my feed is now invalid, although I didn't change anything.  It was fine 2 days ago.  My new podcast episodes ARE showing up in Pocket Casts, the podcast player that I use on my iPhone.  Not sure what is going on.
BTW, I use wordpress and PowerPress to post my podcasts
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your iTunes Store page is at
    https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/rosterdoc-fantasy-football/id689353108
The latest episode showing there is that of 25th August. The feed has two further episodes, of 28th and 29th August, and they show when subscribing.
There is nothing wrong with the feed: the 'errors' in FeedValidator aren't significant, or even errors. 'itunes:order' is a newly introduced tag which is valid but it doesn't recognize; and it doesn't understand RawVoice. This isn't any sort of problem.
It's quite usual for the Store to take 1-2 days, sometimes more, to show new episodes as it caches the feeds and visits them in some sort of rotation to check for updates. Since the earlier of the two 'missing' episodes was posted only yesterday, 28 hours ago, it's not abnormal for it not to show yet. It's just a question of waiting.

  • Podcast not showing up in iTunes keyword search

    Hello, all -
    Podcast: Z.E.D.D. Radio
I asked Apple support for help with this, but they basically wrote back and gave me this forum URL.  Yes, there are other posts on this "keyword" topic, but they seem to be from 2012, and they didn't quite give me the info I was looking for.  Would anyone be willing to help me out?  I'm still kinda new at this, even though I've successfully posted 42 episodes of my podcast on iTunes already.  I feel I might be losing a large number of potential subscribers because the only way to find my podcast is from the name of the podcast itself, not keywords, and not many people are aware of my podcast.
Basically, I am using Google Feedburner with the Smartcast settings.  My show is hosted on Talkshoe.com.  A friend set up my podcast on iTunes for me last year, but I have total control of the Feedburner account.  I have only 7 keywords in Feedburner and the first one is "zombies."  The 2nd one "zombie."  I'm sure there are tons of zombie podcasts out there, but when I type "zombies" for a keyword search in iTunes, I'm shocked to see podcasts listed there that have nothing to do about the subject.  Worse, after a keyword search, I see shows listed that are not even running anymore.  It's like a podcast graveyard, but there is no sign of mine, which updates with a new episode every week.
Am I not submitting keywords correctly in my feed?  Is it based on popularity and number of reviews in iTunes?  I understand if my show can't compete with the big boys, but to have a podcast show up that has nothing to do with zombies while mine stays invisible (even though it's specifically about my keyword search), really baffles me.
Anyone willing to give me some insight with this?  Any help would be appreciated.  Just tell me what info or details you need.  Thanks!

    Thanks, Roger -
It seems to pull up every podcast with the word "zombie" in the title, and then displays some random podcasts that may or may not have anything to do with zombies.  I just figured that "zombie" is my one (and now only) keyword, I'd be in there somewhere.  Since I was not the one who initially submitted the podcast to iTunes, I have no idea what information was requested and entered at the time...or if that's even relevant.  What I do have control over is my source webhosting site (Talkshoe) and the Google Feedburner site, which I'm told is the only thing that matters, unless there was a keyword entry field specific to iTunes during the initial set-up I do not have access to.
It seems like I can enter keywords at Talkshoe (hosting site), and I can enter keywords on my Feedburner (RSS Feed).  I've read online that if the source has keywords, the feed keywords will be ignored.  They both have the same keywords, so I doubt that's the issue, but I've erased the source keywords and left the Feedburner ones.  I'll see if that changes anything when I upload my latest podcast.
Does iTunes ask for keywords during the initial iTunes application process that overrides everything?  If so, that my be my problem.  I have no idea what the guy who set up my podcast in iTunes wrote?  Is that part of the iTunes application process?
    Thanks again!

  • Episode of established podcast not showing up in iTunes. Why?

It usually shows up quickly, but today, nothing I do will make it show up. My feed is http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/podcasts/pwcomicsworld/index.rss What's going wrong?

Nothing is wrong - it shows when subscribing. It's quite normal for the Store to take 1-2 days to show new episodes - if you've been getting them in quicker than this you've just been lucky.
A couple of minor points: your 'pubDate' tag for the latest episode is missing the day -
    <pubDate>, 21 Jul 2013 00:00:00 EDT</pubDate>
though I very much doubt this has anything to do with the problem (the date shows OK when subscribing).
And some of your subtitles have coding in them:
    <itunes:subtitle>Fantagraphics%2C Geary%2C Eisner Foundation</itunes:subtitle>
which is showing in iTunes, not rendering, and looking messy. %2C is a comma: just put a comma in.

  • Podcast not showing up in iTunes

I have a podcast in iTunes called In The Bleachers (http://inthebleachers.net). My problem is that iTunes doesn't keep the episodes listed for long. I released one last thursday and today when I looked for it in iTunes it was gone. Is it because i am using the same feedburner link for my blog and podcast? My feedburner link is http://feeds.feedburner.com/InTheBleachersPodcast. Do I have to create a seperate feed for just my podcast? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Brian
