    Welcome to the Apple community.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

    Yes you can change the email that you use for your iTunes account, but what I was saying is that you cannot change it to the me address that you use with your mobile me account. It isn't absolutely necessary that you use the same account for all Apple services, it may well help a little in remembering your login details, however unless you migrate your MobileMe account to an iCloud account and use it for your iCloud services you will not be able to use your me address.

    Delete them and then download them from the desired Apple ID. This may require repurchasing paid applications.

    Since switching from PC to Mac and having a .mac account I want to get rid of my yahoo email which my original itunes account is under. I want to do this but not lose all of my purchasing history and account info linked to the yahoo email address, does anyone know if it is possible to bring it all under my .mac account?

    You can contact iTunes Customer Service using the link that Niel gave you.
    But the answer to your request is the following:
    You can change the the Apple ID to other e-mail address. However, if you would like to change to a .mac address you won't be able. There's two options:
    Create a new iTunes Account, using your .mac e-mail address;
    or
    Click [here|https://myinfo.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyInfo.woa], log in and follow this instructions:
    Click Email and then change the e-mail address to your desired e-mail (.mac account). All your mail will be redirected to the .mac account.
    Note that you'll still need to log in on the iTunes Store using your yahoo email. Although you can get rid of this email address, once you won't receive mail there anymore!

    I just got my first Macbook Pro (YAY!!), and after fiddling around with it for a couple of days I would like to take advantages of the features of syncing with iCloud in my new hardware and my iPhone 4 (basicly clean up account stuff and enable stuff like Photostream).
    I have two Apple ID's.
    My [email protected] is used on my new Macbook Pro for iCloud: contacts, calendars, bookmarks, photostream, doc's and data and Find My Mac. It is also used on my iPhone 4 for contacts, calendars, reminders and Find My iPhone.
    My [email protected] is used on my Macbook Pro for Mail & Notes, Calendars and Chat. It is also used on my iPhone 4 for iCloud: contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks, photostream, doc's and data and Find My iPhone.
    To me it seems like my two Apple ID's are contributing with the same things from multiple sides etc. My hotmail used to be my primary email, but I've changed and started using google's services more (especially mail, notes, contacts and calendar). I would like to remove hotmail as primary mail from my devices and use my gmail account as primary instead, and at the same time of course redirect my visa from my hotmail iTunes account to my gmail Apple ID. I will still add my hotmail to get the mail in my iOS and OSX mail native mail programs, but only as a "secondary" account attachment.
    I've been reading about these topics of merging multiple ID's as well as the answer to this question https://discussions.apple.com/message/16400957#16400957 , but I can't figure out where to start and what to do. Can anyone please help me, let me know what to do, in which order or point me in the right direction?

    Family members living a distance away have a btinternet main account with a sub account. Both accounts are managed by their Windows Mail and have been operating fine for over 2 years. Last week an error 553 was given. Sub-account emails could be neither sent or received from Windows Mail. I went through the verification process via WebMail for them. Immediately they could send emails from the sub-account again, but not receive. The send and receive reports for both accounts report successful with green ticks. BT has remoted onto the PC and checked out the settings and declared it all working, yet still no emails received. I can see all the emails waiting via webmail. I've checked that emails can be sent to, and received from, another email address. What has changed? Is it possible the verification was incomplete?

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
    There is no particular need to verify any BTinternet sub accounts.
    The reason for this error is a settings change by some means or other, even accidental. As there have been mail server issues for a number of weeks now - is it possible your family may have tried to alter their Windows Mail account settings to try to fix the problem ?
    Verification has actually nothing to do with receipt of email, so that sounds to be a settings issue.
    I would suggest contacting your family to check the account settings again, and make sure that each one only refers to the email address in question, and any primary account details (e.g. that needed for verification) is removed from the sub account..

  • Merge MobileMe and iTunes account?! This is CRAZY unfair!

    When I first joined MobileMe some years ago I couldn't merge my iTunes account with my new MobileMe email address. Furthermore, at the beginning I believe (though I can't find any info to back this up) that it was NECESSARY that you had a seperate account for mobileme and the iTunes store, that's why I have two.
    Now that I've switched over to cloud my MobileMe Account is obviously the one I want to use for everything, but all my music and perchases for the past 4 or 5 YEARS are on another account, which I'm told I can't merge. What happens when people get married, or or change email addresses, or even countries?
    Are digital commodities really this fragile and fleeting? If so I'm just about done throwing my money at binary, and go back to CDs.
    Any thoughts... what can I do? I've spent hundreds if not thousands I'm sure over the past 5 years... this is crazy.

    Use your ex-MobileMe login for iCloud; use your iTunes ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match. There's no problem in having two IDs this way, and in fact it's more secure not to have your iTunes login the same as your email address (given the number of complaints about iTunes accounts getting hacked).
    Once you've got it running Keychain will handle the logins anyway so you won't even need to remember which login is which.

    I am migrating from a gmail account to a mobile me account and just tried to change my iTunes store email to my new Mobileme email. However when I try to do this from inside iTunes I get the follwoing message.
    "You cannot change this Apple ID to use an existing MobileMe email address. If you would like to use your MobileMe account you can Sign In using your MobileME account information. The email address you entered is already being used for an Apple Account. If it is yours, you can Sign In using that Apple Account."
    I wouldn't usually mind but I have 22 pages of purcahese linked to that account, so it would be nice to export it to my new email. Anyway round this?

    Honestly, there is not an EASY solution to this. However, you can take snapshots of the purchased receipts or proof in iTunes and save them in a folder on your computer. It'll take some time, but it would solve you're problem

    I accually called them and was on the phone for like two hours trying to fix it. Do you have an apple id? if so you can use that to buy a free song and then synce the phone and then after that try to buy something and your apple id name should come up. I was using my aol email address and then for some reason it stoped working and I couldnt bye anything. I did that and now I can buy stuff again..hope this helps

    Long story, but I have 2 iTunes accounts, one of which I no longer use.  The email system for my primary account is going away, and I need to associate this primary account with a different active email address. I'd like to associate it to my other accounts email address. Is there a way I can either close or disable this second unused iTunes account, and move the email address associated with it to my primary account? Any other suggestions on how to fix this problem (other than open a 3rd email account someplace)?

    For years I have been using my main Apple ID to sync with itunes on my work laptop. Over the years we've added many i-devices (iphone, 2 ipads, ipod, apple TV) which have been all syncing to the same Apple ID. I have gotten to the point where my work computer doesn't have enough memory to house everything and I wanted to find a resolution to this.
    My initial thoughts were to delete my kids' movies from the iTunes account on my computer and only keep them on the various devices. When I try to do so I get a warning that the movie I would like to delete will also delete from all of my devices. I don't want to do this...
    So, I just bought a new computer for the house and have created a new Apple ID for it. I would like to transfer all of the movies currently residing on my computer with my current apple ID to the new computer with the new Apple ID. I don't want to have the movies on both Apple IDs, only one so this should not be an infringement on copyright. I've searched on the web and have not found a solution for this.
    I must remove the movies from my computer (they were all purchased through iTunes, by the way) but don't want to repurchase them on the new Apple ID as it will cost me hundreds of dollars.
    Any ideas on how to transfer the movies are welcomed.

    All iTunes purchases are permanently attached to the account used to obtain them and can't be transferred.
    I would suggest you relocate your iTunes library onto a drive big enough to hold it all, with room for growth, and obtain a second to act as a backup.
