  • If I have just upgraded to the current version, why do I get this message on my homepage? "URGENT! Your version of Firefox is no longer protected against online attacks. Get the upgrade - it's fast and free! "

This message keeps appearing on my google home page no matter which upgrade is installed. this has occured for the last three upgrades. It also affects youtube and hotmail which keep telling me my browser is outdated even though I have just installed the current version. I am running xp pro on an old, slow Netvista.

  • I have a MAC with OS 10.6.7 and after upgrading Adobe Flash Player to 10.1.102.64, after which I got a message saying Firefox was no longer protected against online attacks. I tried to upgrade to Firefox 4.0.1, could download it but could not install it

When I tried to drag the Firefox icon (as instructed after downloading) to Applications, it kept "bouncing" back. I have assumed my system would not accept it.

What have you figured out? Anything? What you show just shows a pretty quiet system except for firefox having a bunch of tabs open. You've got some page ins and outs so you maybe your'e hitting your HD with swap files more than what you think?
I think something like coconut battery app or something like it will tell you the charge cycles on the battery. How many do you have?
Lastly, are you using any extensions like ad blocker, or click to flash?

  • Message that says: URGENT! Your version of Firefox is no longer protected against online attacks. Get the upgrade - it's fast and free! I clicked to download version, try to open it, get warning about viruses, coming from firefox?

Is there always a warning about virus downloads for Firefox?

"legitimate message" is not much to go on.
I'd be only too happy to upgrade, but my end users are dependent on Java Initiator to load specific software interface to access Oracle database. that functionality is disabled in FF 3.6 and later...
We aren't the hosts of the database, and our(my) pleas to the admins who host the third party front end to upgrade the JRE on the server are met with, "we're not going to reverse engineer their system..."
So while I'm stuck at 3.5.x, i'd like to know what it is in 3.5.18 or 19 that makes upgrade so Urgent, and I haven't found guidance in support.mozilla.org.

  • When I open Firefox a message appears: Urgent! Your version of Firefox is no longer protected against online attacks. Get the upgrade - it's fast and free! I've tried downloading upgrade a few times, but when I open Firefox again, same message appears.

All the information is in the question above.

  • How do I get rid of 'urgent your version of Firefox is no longer protected against online attacks'. I have the current version. This is irritating. If it continues, I'll get rid of Firefox.

I've downloaded the 'new' version twice in the last week. This has no effect.

You need to reset your user agent string (identifies version of Firefox). Yours has been modified by several add-ons and is now stuck at showing Firefox 3.0.5
For details of how to fix this see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Websites+or+add-ons+incorrectly+report+incompatible+browser

  • I have iBook G4 with Mac 10.4.11 and I received a note: Your version of firefox is no longer protected against online attacs. What do I do?

what version of firefox can I use?

What that message is referring to is one of the safer browsing features no longer working in older versions of Firefox. Firefox has a feature to warn you if a site you are trying to access is a suspected phishing site/web forgery or contains malware. It does this by checking with a database maintained by Google of suspect sites, and if the site is in the Google database it warns you before you access the site. The database used by Firefox 3.0 and earlier has been discontinued so you will no longer get any warnings. Firefox 3.5 and later use a new database of suspect sites.

  • How to get rid of message You are no longer protected agaist online attacks.

    Hello,
I have an old mac 10.4.11. When logging on to firefox there is a message that reads Your version of firefox is no longer protected against online attacks
They won't let me upgrade firefox.

Firefox 3.6.17 is compatible with Mac OSX 10.4 and PowerPC architecture; later versions of Firefox don't support either.
    Get it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

The product that I purchased is not working!!!! I need help and I've been stuck in your "Contact us loop" for the last few days and I'm getting frustrated. How do I contact you for HELP!

Probably the best place to start is the right forum for your product. This is the forum for Distiller Server, a long dead product used by big companies, and probably not what you have. If you can't find the right forum, please let us know the FULL name of what you paid for (please check your invoice, as Adobe have many similar products), and we can perhaps direct you. Good luck!

  • At Firefox Start I get a message saying Urgent Your version of Firefox is no longer protected against on line attacks Get the Upgrade it's fast and free. Get the Upgrade is underined to click on. Is this legit or a scam?

It has a yellow triangle next to it with a ! in it.

That is a legitimate message from Mozilla. Support has ended for Firefox 3.5.19. You need to upgrade to a newer version of Firefox. The hyperlink takes you to a download page for Firefox 4.0.1 and Firefox 3.6.17 is available here - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • II have downloaded several Apps that state they work with iTouch but they will not install and give error message that I need updated software, while all my updates available are installed on both iTouch and my computer iTunesWhy will Mindtools app not

My iPod Touch will not function with certain updated apps ie MindTools, YP.com, Mint, Ymessenger etc and I get the error message that I need to install updated software to load these apps to my iPod Touch; however, I have double checked and all the software updates have been loaded in obht the iPod touch and my computer. There are no updates availabe; yet the error message on App is a software update is required for App. "was not installed because it requires a newer version of iPod software."
The iPod Touch is using 3.1.3 software and it tells me that is the current and updated software version.

You are correct in that your 1G iPod Touch has all the latest software updates.  It can only be updated to version 3.1.
However that Apps you are trying to download and install likely require iOS version 4.0 or later, which is not compatible with your iPod Touch.  So either you'll need to buy a newer iPod Touch or find other Apps that are suitable replacements if possible.
    Sorry.

  • I keep getting the message that I need to download the images update to open old documents.  The update was downloaded on 11/24/13.  Checking for new updates shows all updates have been made.  What is the issue?

I keep getting the message that I need to download the new update for ipages when opening old documents.  The latest update that I have download was done 11/24/13.  When I check for updates it shows that there are no new updates available.  I downloaded Maverick a few weeks back on to my iMac.  What is the issue

You have both your older iWork apps and the newer Maverick apps on your computer.
The new Maverick apps are in the Applications folder.
The older iWork apps are in the Applications/iWork folder.
Of the two, the older iWork apps are more useful so don't throw them out.
Check out about Pages 5, keeping the older Apps and how to manage updates here:

I would "guess", since you were in the middle of backing up, your backup is corrupt & most likely unusable. Only one way to find out though, & that's by trying to restore from that backup. If your pics are not there, they are gone.
