Received new Kindle Fire 8.9 HD Skype no sound

I received a Kindle Fire HD and can't Skype since the sound doesn't work in this new version. How do I get the old version? Don't say cloud since I didn't have one before now.<br>This was the main reason behind this gift was to be able to Skype. Please help. I've tried removing the app and installing. No good.

I have no sound either but I do have a page of code. This is why I bought this for skype and small things and it was a refurb which usually is a better buy!Sherry.lynn wrote:

Is any information currently available concerning Skype compatibility with the new Kindle Fire HDX?

The video received by the Kindle Fire HDX is several seconds delayed from the audio.  Very annoying.  The quality is excellent and the person I'm talking to sees me fine.  I don't beleive it's a network issue because this does not happen when using Skype on other devices with my home network.
I just bought a new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and i am having the same issue; The video is very clear but it lags behind the audio for a couple of seconds. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Skype and still have the same issues. I have several other devices and desktops in the house to test with over Wifi and they all work beautifully with each other. It is only the brand new Kindle HDX that is behaving badly. I have not had issues with Skype in a very long while on any platform so this has me completely baffled. Any thoughts?

  • Anyone know if iTunes in the Cloud work on the new Kindle Fire?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not iTunes in the Cloud will work on the new Kindle Fire?

Just go into the music section, and choose the cloud option and the kindle will sync any music you have downloaded on your cloud drive.

  • The new kindle fire had won't load skype contacts

Help I cannot get skype to load on my kindle fire had. I log in and it will only show manage my features and profile but will not show anywhere to add contacts or to make a video call. Please help thank you!

I was reading a few comments about not getting skype to work on kindle hd/fire, as i had the same problem, but no more, its all working great now, what i was doing wrong was going through the web, then tried to download skype that way and yes it wouldnt show contacts, but then i banged my head and decided to go to the app store, then typed skype and when it came up  you just haveto do it press download, this is free, wait until its downloaded and your all done, so everytime you want to skype go through your apps each time, im not that good with laptops, kindles etc but iworked it out, good luck xx

  • New kindle fire hd no skype?

Just opened m kindle and it cant find skype. amazon app store returns no results. it shows in downloads in my account but not on the device any tips?

All we can do is contact Amazon and Skype. Amazon is tracking all the people with the same incident. Keep contacting both parties. The more people who report and persist that a resolution must happen, the higher the priority, and with more resources, then the incident will get resolved. Post on this forum. Post on Amazon. Review Amazon Kindle citing the problem so it will post and get more exposure. More people may report their problem as well. Consumers have a right to know about problems before making a major purchase.

  • Adobe Flash player doesn't support  the new android type devices such as my new Kindle Fire but i understand they are going to have an app out for these devices this year. Any idea on when that will be?

I understand Adobe Flash player will have out an app to download to the newer android devices such as Kindles that they stopped supporting a couple of years ago soon. Any idea when this will be? Thanks.

    Hello,
We don't have any plans for a new version of Flash Player for Android.  That said, some users have been able to get Flash Player working on the Kindle Fire by using third party browsers.

I don't have one of these devices, so I can walk you through the process (or even confirm if this is possible.)  However, it looks like other users have had success in posts like this:

  • Skype and Kindle Fire HD

The Skype app came installed with my new KFHD.  I logged into Skype with no problems.  However, I also use Skype on my tv through my home pc.  Since I am using the same account (my shortsightedness) I would like to create a new account for the KFHD.  I cannot uninstall the app from my KFHD but is there any way to remove the account info and create a new account?

  • Kindle Fire and emails

    Hello,
I may be in the wrong place here, but can anyone tell us how to SEND emails on our new Kindle fire?  We can receive them fine. We have a desktop with XP and use Outlook Express; we are with BT Broadband.  We thought we'd done everything correctly, but obviously not.
    Many thanks.

If its the standard Kindle email you are using and are happy with POP3 set up try these settings. (Obviously user name and password are your own BTYahoo ones). You may have used this set up

  • Live account not supported by Kindle Fire HDX?

I just signed up for a new account, which also involved creating a new Microsoft Live Account, so I could use Skype on my new Kindle Fire HDX. My login works fine on the website, doesn't work at all on my Kindle Fire HDX 7".

Mine won't work either going through Microsoft Live.  It'll ring twice and then fail.  Every time.

  • Kindle Fire HD changes login data during entry!

Hi all, My brand new Kindle Fire HD has Skype pre-loaded.  My account has always worked fine on WinXP PC so all name and password details are correct.
Trying to login to Skype on the Fire HD fails as, while the Skype name is entered correctly, it is then changed to a different text while the password is being entered!  xxxx_gb is changed to xxxx_bbc!!  Naturally, the response is "failed to recognise password" as it is for a different account name.  Renentering the correct name while the correct password remains entered still fails as the "automatic" change is reapplied.
Do I need to activate the Kindle on the account in some way?  Why isn't the existing account name recognised?
    {Yes, I made sure the PC was disconnected from Skype before using the Kindle.}
    Teddo.

Hi All, I tried using Skype from my main PC and it worked as usual with the original name and password accepted.  After a gap of 2 to 3 weeks I tried the Kindle Fire HD again.  Up came the same wrong name - obviously cached.  This time I just edited the last 3 characters and managed to get the corrected name accepted then the correct password!  I didn't change from my original data at all but it was accepted and worked by making a connection!  As a double check, I reverted to the incorrect name so I could see on screen the name I had tried before which was 100% correct.  I brought up the incorrect name and edited it again - failed!
One final change back to the correct data which was accepted and the Skype connection worked.  No explanation, it just seems to accept or reject the corrected name at random.  I am leaving it alone now!
    Teddo out...

  • Kindle Fire HD / Flash player ????

I have the brand new Kindle Fire HD...I went to watch a video...it said I needed to download flash player.  Here's what I've done so far:
    1) tried to download -  No luck
    2) checked for "settings" to enable flash - no "flash" listed
    3) changed settings from "requested view" to both "mobil and desktop" -  No luck
I'm getting frustrated...what now can I do ?   Do you have an app that I can use to download it ?  What do I try now ?      Please help.

As you've noticed, Flash is not available for the new Kindle Fire HD.  However, some users have been able to work around this by using alternative browsers like Dolphin.
