I am follwing
The specified item was not found. :: Blog for getting output in the format of excel sheet.
Well am using Altova Mapforce this :
Am having Outbound Interface with two elements : and : Inbound Interface with two elements .
I import these two Interfaces (Outbound / Inbound) as Xsd files into Mapforce.
All fine. I have a option in map force called insert "XLSX" will this help me out to produce output in EXCEL format ??
How to use Michal blog , i see in his XSLT Mapping not having any Elements of Outbound Intyerface what he has mentioned

But without using XSLT mapping also, I have generated the Excel File attachment.
Throgh R/3 coding I am passing following.
G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-FROM = From Mail Address.
      G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-TO = TO Mail Address.
      G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-SUBJECT = 'Test Alert mail'.
      G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-DATE = SY-DATUM.
      G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT_TYPE =   'text/plain;name="CSV_data.csv"'.
      G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT = 'Testing1,Testing2,Testing3'.
      G_ALERT_INPUT-MT_R3REQUEST_MAIL_SEND-MAIL-CONTENT_DISPOSITION = 'attachment'.
And in the Mail Receiver Adapter i have configured as following.
Use Mail package and Keep Attachment both options are selectd.
So I am getting the data in different columns in the excel file But How to set the Next ROW in Excel file?
I thnk i am missing something in CONTENT value.

Here are the steps I took to create an XSLT transformation in XI 3.0:
1. I created my source and target XSDs using XMLSpy.
2. I created the XSLT mapping from source to target in XMLSpy (referencing the souce XSD schema).
3. I created another XSLT mapping to format the target into Excel XML.
4. Import the source and target XSDs in the IR's External Definitions
5. Zip each XSLT mapping (.xls) and import it into the IR's Imported Archives
6. Reference the XSL mappings in the Interface Mapping

Edit .app file in excel and then open it in client tool?

Dear Gurus,
I am very new to HFM and would like to know what practice a HFM consultant will use in editing the metadata.
My boss recommend me to edit metadata( .app file) in excel and save it into a format that can be read and opened by client tool.
However, I find no way to achieve this.
How can i edit metadata in excel and then open it in HFM client tool?

Good morning,
I think the best way to do it it's working with macros. You can work with an Excel file and then, convert it to the .txt format by using macros. A .txt is more suitable to be later worked as .app.
However, you can also do it by using Copy/Paste.
1. Open the .app in a Note Pad, so you can work with .txt file.
2. Copy the .txt data in the Excel file.
3. Then, it's just working with Data > Text to Columns to format the file. Then, you can work in Excel.
Then, you will have to put the Excel file in a .txt, so you will have to follow the data files requirements. You still can do this manually, but you will have to pay attention to the format (FILE_FORMAT=11.1.2, !VERSION=11.1.3609, !CUSTOM_ORDER=Custom1;Custom2;Custom3;Custom4, !APPLICATION_SETTINGS, !CURRENCIES, etc., as it is the Admin Guide). It will also depend on the HFM version you're working with, specially when working with customs.

File to Excel using Xi

Hi All,
I am having new requirement for creating an interface in which file is comming SAP ( R/3) to XI then XI need to sned it to the receiver in EXcel sheet. I have referred lot of forums most of them are saying that either i need to use convertion agent or using adapter module ( Using Jexcel API) or xslt mapping. But in my know ledge in the receiver file adapter we can create the excel file by choosing content conversion with .csv extension and tab delimited file. Please correct me me if i am wrong and please guide me which one is the easy way to generate excel file form the xi at the receiver end.

Ask the customer first, what exactly he wants. A real excel sheet or a csv file.

When opening files in excel 2013, it is showing contacting.... makes it very slow

When I open a file in excel 2013 , it is shown that the file is contacting so many files (ONE EXAMPLE IS ATTACHED HEREWITH) that it takes nearly 2-3 minutes to open.But the same file is opened in Excel 2010 immediately.
However this file doesn't have any links or references or formulae and the files which are being contacted, I think, have nothing to do with this file.
How to solve this problem? We have around 1000 PCs of Windows 7 in our organization and this makes the users very annoying. Please help me...

For the questions you raised the answers are,
1. No, the excel files which excel 2013 is contacting are not in the same folder.
2 . both, local workbook and received through mail.
3. before I tell the outcome of your suggestion, I have attached the few lines which I got fromone of the users.
The following are the problem experienced in Newly Installed Office 2013 Excel Software
While opening file containing links to external link, relatively longer time (approx. 2-3 min) is taken for opening the file.
Even if the links to external sources are
delinked, all the references are being contacted while opening the file. This is also taking the same time like the old file.
When more than two excel files are opened, only last file is available in the tab. Rest of the files are hidden in the minimized tab.
As per the user, he has linked some files to this excel file(problematic file). But even after the links are removed and the problematic file is opened it is still contacting the old linked files.
Please suggest something.

Variable substitution not working for dynamic file name in Receiver File CC

Hi Experts,
I am doing the scenario of Proxy sender to File receiver and my purpose is to Create the text file
as per the filename available in Source Message payload.
I am using the Variable Substitution method for this as shown below.
Source Message Structure:-
     <Row>            -
having Cocurence 1.1
         <Filename>     -
having Cocurence 1.1
         <Item>            -
having Cocurence 1.Unbounded
          <Field1>
          <field2>
         <Item>
         <Item>
          <Field1>

Target structure is same as the source structure and i have mapped the Filename field of the Source
with the Target structure Filename.
In ID the following is the File receiver CC Configuration.
File Name Scheme:- %Dyn_filename%
In Advance tab, I have selected the Enable option and added one row as Variable name %Dyn_filename%
and Reference as payload:Row,1,Filename,1
In testing I am getting the Error as 'variable Dyn_filename is not found in Message payload'.
Please suggest me.

Email attachment name in sender mail adapter to the receiver file adapter

Ths is regarding email to file scenario. I am trying to create file (in rceiver file adapter) with the same name as the email attachment that i read from mail sender adapter. I want ro use adapter module for this. I could find from blogs that there is module - GetAttachmentName - available that i can use for this in sender mail adapter.
Can you please let me know what whetehr i neeed to mention any module key and parameters for this.
I assume , i need to do following steps :Please confirm.
1. i can use this module - after payload swap module and before standard mail adapter module in sender mail adapter
2. select ASMA option in advanced tab in sender mail adapter
3. In receiver file adapter select ASMA option in advanced tab in sender mail adapter
4. Also select file name option in ASMA in sender mail adapter

If you use the Module getAttachmentName, which is described here,

your scenario should work as you described it.
You just need to make sure that the Attachment Name that you read in the first place, is mapped to the Filename Attribute of the
Fileadapter (http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File/FileName).

How to embed and open PDF files within excel

I constantly need to embed PDF files onto Excel documents as well as extract/open/view PDF files from Excel documents. I am unable to do so with a macbook, i know that there is a workaround but it's such a tedious process. Is there a software i can buy or setting that i can do so that i can embed and open PDF files easily as i need to view these files multiple times a day for work.

Open the PDF file using it. If security restrictions don't prevent it you could also print it.

Checked to see how much free space there is on the startup disk lately?
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

If disk space is not the issue, booting in Safe Mode deletes system caches that may help.
A Safe Mode boot takes longer then a normal boot so be patient.

How to automatically open csv files in Excel on imac

I am migrating back from Google Chrome to firefox and would like to have the browser automatically open csv files to Excel on my mac desktop. The step to have them saved in the download folder and then go in an open it in Excel adds an unnecessary action. In the earlier versions of Firefox on my windows machine this worked as desired. I have a scenario in which I need to generate a file in tab delimited format. But in the receiver file adapter configuration we have only text/binary file creation mode. By setting the File Type in TEXT mode will I be able to do a tab de-limited file?? Or is there any other configuration settings need to be done?

I think I can find some stuff but still it would be helpful if you could forward the doc to [email protected] Also, yeah it looks like the receiving file format would be complex with header and footer. In the content conversion can we specify header and footer?? or is there any other way to define...FYI my source file also contains header and footer..I am just a little confused on how to set up the message types for mapping...

Getting "Cannot Insert Object" message while attaching .pdf file to excel spreadsheet.

While I am trying to attach an adobe (.pdf) file in excel spreadsheet I am getting message as “Cannot Insert Object”.
I am following the below mentioned steps and getting message as “Cannot Insert Object”.
Open the adobe (.pdf) file from IE browser.
While saving the adobe file on local machine it gives warning as “This document does not allow you to save any changes you have made to it unless you are using Adobe Acrobat 9, Pro 9 or Pro Extended 9. You will only be saving a copy of the original document. Do you want to continue?” On pressing "OK" it successfully saves the file on my local machine.
While I Tried to attach the saved adobe file in a spreadsheet of excel it gives message as “Cannot Insert Object”.
Does any one have any thoughts at all as to how to solve this?

The alert dialog your screen shot depicts will only display if there is some kind of form annotation present in a PDF that is not "Reader Enabled".
Look closer at your 'final' PDF.
A PDF, not "Reader Enabled", that contains any form annotations will, when opened by Adobe Reader,
result in the alert dialog that you mention. A "hard wired" default.
Note that the forms document message bar can be "off" by a selection in Adobe Reader / Acrobat Preferences.
Select the 'Forms' category. Select "Always hide forms document message bar".

How to populate target directory from the source XML in Receiver File Adap?

Hi All,
Our scenario is IDoc - XI -(Receiver File adapter) File. Is it possible to populate complete "Target Directory" from the source XML message??
Lets say we added field to maintain target directory in Idoc structure and some how populated value to it, then grab this target directory from the IDoc-XML and pass in Comunication Channel. I think its possible through Variable Substitation ...just want to make sure and if sombody has done the similar scenario their inputs would be great.
