Receiving calendar invites?

When someone sends me a calendar invite I get an email with the event attachment on it. Is there a way to make all invites appear in the iphone calendar inbox instead? As currently my calendar inbox is redundant, this currently means I get no notifications of invites, they just sit in my gmail inbox with all the other rubbish I get sent.
Thanks

I am also having this issue. Even if I send to my @icloud.com apple id it goes to mail inbox as attachment not calendar inbox. Already enabled calendar and new invitation alerts...it did not repair the situation.
It would be great to not have to "click" three times to get a calendar invite on my calendar especially since Apple seemed to have gone through the trouble of building a calendar inbox feature.
click to open mail app
click to open email
click to open ics attachment
click to add to calendar
click to confirm which calendar
presumeably calendar inbox would eliminate the 2nd and 3rd click.

  • Receiving calendar invites from gmail, possible?

I am attempting to receive calendar invites from my girlfriends HTC to my iPhone calendar.
She sends an invitation from her calendar app (which runs in google calendars) and sends that invite to my apple ID (which also happens to be a gmail address).
I receive an email which I can manually input into my calendar but I get no 'invite' as such. No invitation is shown when I click the button in the calendar app on my iPhone.
I'm just curious if it is possible?
I have successfully sent invites the other way around. My girlfriend received an email which allows her to accept through iCloud and then the entry shows up automatically both on her phone and on google calendars. To be able to do it the other way would be awesome.

    Hi there,
There seems to be two parts to your problem:
    1. Receiving the invitations through email rather than through the app's inbox.
    2. Not being able to reply to the invite through email.
Regarding 2: does the event show up on your google calendar when you accept it? You can check that by logging into your gmail account in a web browser and looking at your calendar web-app.
If it does, then make sure, in your phones calendar/mail settings, that you gmail address is set to sync it's calendar to your phone.
If that doesn't work, I'm afraid I don't know more about that.
Regarding 1: What I might be able to help you with though is getting those invites to you Calendar app on your phne. Countless people have had this problem and still have it. This solution worked for me, it might work for you. If that doesn't work for you, I suggest you browse the forums here and at macrumors for more help.
    SOLUTION:
    1. Log in to you Google account ON A DESKTOP COMPUTER (I tried on mobile and it didn't work for me).
    2. Access your google calendar. One way is through the "9 squares" icon on the top right of your browser.
    3. On the middle-left portion of your screen, you will see your various calendars listed (e.g. Personal calendar, contacts birthdays, holidays, etc.). The top one should be your primary calendar, and immediately to the left of it is a downward pointing arrow. Click on it to reveal an options menu.
    4. In that options menu, choose "Settings".
    5. In the settings menu, at the top, there is a navigation menu. Click on "Notifications".
    6. Inside the notification menu, there are a number of options for Email and SMS alerts. DISABLE ALL NOTIFICATIONS.
    7. Don't forget to save the changes.
For me that did the trick. I assume that when a new invite is being processed through iCloud, it first checks with the email address if there are notifications settings enabled, and if so let's it handle the invite. Which could actually be the desired behaviour, although it should be more obvious. Either that or Google Calendar somehow hijacks the process.
Anyway it seems that when there as no notification setup with Google, the invite god through to the Calendar Inbox as usual.
This problem was a thorn for me, so I hope that fixes it for you as well!
    Vincent
Info: Using iPhone 5S, with iOS7, but previously had the same probl with iPhone 3GS using iOS6. Have been using the same Gmail account since the beginning and always had my Apple ID ash gmail address.

  • Can't receive Calendar invites (.mac or .me)

Recently, I have been unable to receive Calendar invitations at my .mac email address.  Oddly, if I am invited at my .icloud address (which nobody I know knows about) I do receive the invitation.  Also, if I send an invitation from Calendar to my wife's .me address, she receives it.  However, if she tries to send an invite to my .me address, like my .mac address, Calendar indicates no reply or unable to send. It used to work quite well, but has become squirly, and now that only my .icloud address seems to work in Calendar, an address that nobody knows, the system has become unusable.  Any ideas?

I do experience the same issue, but I would say that it is not all...
When my friends (iCloud users too) send me invites on mac.com (I told them to do so in order to make it work), and I accept these, they never receive the answers since my mail address is [email protected] and not the one they sent invites to.... that is unbelievable ! I can not use invites with other iCloud users ! Please Apple fix it as soon as possible !

  • TS4002 Issues receiving calendar invites via iCloud

My girlfriend used to send me calendar invites through iCloud (@me.com of @icloud.com). But it seems that ever since I updated to iOS 6 I can't send or receive calendar invites anymore. I have tried everything and can't get it to work.
    Can anyone hp me out???
    Bob

You are not missing anything, you are referring to integration of Apple product - icloud and Microsoft product - exchange. They do not integrate, were never intended to do so by either of the companies - as far as I know.

  • How do I stop receiving calendar invites on iCal/iCloud and use exchange 2013 calendar instead?

I Have an exchange 2013 email account which isn't registered as part of my iCloud account.
i Use my outlook calendar (exch) for work and the same exch calendar day to day from all my iOS devices.
when a colleague or outside email away from my company sends me a calendar meeting request, it works fine. (Using my exch email as the invite recipient).
my girlfriend sends me a meeting request from her hotmail account using the same exch email address for me, but he. Invites always arrive to my iCloud/iCal calendar instead! I can't seem to change it so I often miss diary notes or reminders unless I constantly look at both calendars.
i Just want to use exchange calendar and lose iCal (or if easier sync both iCal and exchange calendars vica versa - but that may be over complicating the issue, basically I just need one calendar and would rather it be my outlook exchange cal)
    any ideas?

    Hello again,
False alarm..... it didnt work sorry.
I removed the iCal accounts from my mac, and also from my iphone. Then when my partner sent me a calendar invite it simply didnt arrive at all!
She has a hotmail account installed on her IOS iphone 5.
She is sending the invite to my exch 2013 email address which is not associated with any icloud account.
My exch 2013 email is installed in both my Outlook for mac 2011 and IOS device Iphone 5s.
When I switch the iCloud Calendar back on in my iphone 5s, the invite comes through but ONLY optional to the icloud calendar. I cannot seem to get it receiving on my default calendar which is set to Exchange 2013 account.
Its very strange as its only her invites that do this. Anyone else's come through on my exchange calendar because its the same email address receeving it my end.

  • I don't receive calendar invites from google calendar on iphone

I use ical on my macbook as well as on my iphone.  I have them both logged into the same apple account.  When I receive an invite from someone using google calendars I receive this invite via email as well as a notification on the macbook ical.  I don't receive this on the iphone ical.  Even if I accept and it is showing up as an event on my macbook ical, it still does not show up on the iphone ical.  This is when it is sent to a specific email address which is not my primary icloud email address, but it is listed as one of the email addresses for my icloud account.  Any suggestions?

I should note that this is happening when someone sends me an invite from google calendar to a yahoo business hosted email account.

  • I can't receive calendar invites but I can send them?

I can send calendar invites but I can't receive them? I don't have an icloud email only my yahoo account. I've checked to make sure only that email address is linked to my Itunes account....I've checked my settings agaisnt my husbands phone and they are the same?
Anyone know whats happening or how to resolve?
    Many thanks in advance

The calendar will remain on the server and should be restored when you add back the account. Regardless of that, you can back up a calendar by exporting it:

  • Cannot receive calendar invites in iCal

Since upgrading to iOS 7, when my wife (who uses iCloud with an @outlook.com address) sends me a calendar invite, it comes to me (using an @icloud.com address) as an email rather than a notification to my iCal app, on any device. When I accept the event, it won't add to iCal either. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

I Used to able to accept events from outside the iCloud world and add them automatically to the calendar.
    NOw nothing.

  • Cant send/receive calendar invites using gmail

Im having trouble sending/receiving invitation in my iPhone cal. I notice it only seems to do this with gmail accts. I read some old posts on this being a problem with iCloud and gmail addresses for apple ID. Trying to see if there is a more updated fix before contacting Apple?

OK. This seems to be a problem, at least more so, with a google secondary calendar. If I send/receive invited on my default Google cal at least some of them are working. When I try to send with the secondary cal selected (a calendar added under my default calendar that is shared with others) nothing happens? I do have gmail set up through exchange and have deleted it and reinstalled once with no help.

  • Removed delegate permissions but still receiving calendar invites

I’m running Outlook 2011 and had added a delegate from the exchange so that we could see each others calendars but instead I am getting all of his meeting invites and he isn’t seeing them at all. So we removed each other as delegates, but I am STILL getting his invites (though now I cannot respond). Delegate permissions were removed from both computers.
Has anyone encountered this issue before?

  • Not receiving icloud calendar invites or calendar sharing

I am so sorry to bring this up but I have gone through discussion after discussion and nothing seems to be working for me! This is the first time I have ever posted so any help would be greatly appreciated.
My apple ID is a hotmail.com account and it is no longer receiving calendar invites or invites to share a calendar. They worked perfectly up until around the end of January 2013 as far as I can see so this appears to be a problem that has appeared in the last couple of weeks
I have tested it with some friends and it appears that some of my invitations are working when I send them out but it appears to be hit & miss (Last night I invited someone to share my calendar and they received the invite- when they invited me I did not receive anything)
I have changed my password on appleid so it meets the new security guidelines,
I have checked my appleid to ensure that there are no other unverified e-mail addresses linked to my account,
Both my iphone and ipad have had the latest updates (iOS 6.1.2)
I have changed my appleid to a different hotmail address and then changed it back to the original one and the invites did not work.
I have logged into icloud.com on my PC but no new invites have appeared on there.
Syncing of my calendar, reminders, safari and contacts etc is still working fine between my iphone and my ipad.
Please let me know if any more detail is needed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Are you still experiencing the issue?? Have you called Applecare?

  • How do i get calendar invites to open and update icloud calendar instead of my local outlook account?

I recently started using iCloud for my calendar and have installed the MS Outlook iCloud plug in, but whenever I receive calendar invitations in any of the mail accounts I have configured in Outlook, only my local calendar on my computer is being updated.   How do I set up Outlook to have incoming calendar invitations update my iCloud calendar?   I even tried opening the iCloud website, but all calendar items there also show up as .ics files, which automatically open in MS Outlook on my computer and again update only my local calendar (personal folders).   I also tried setting the default data file in MS Outlook to the iCloud data file, but when I did that, Outlook gives an error message advising against setting the iCloud calendar as the default.   I'm at a total loss and would GREATLY appreciate any advice anyone might be able to provide.    Thanks to all for your time!

    Hi Marknoon,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to resolve this issue where you are unable to use iCloud calendars in Outlook, please follow the steps below, ensuring you follow them in order and testing after each step.
Troubleshooting on Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook)
If you're having trouble with iCloud Calendar on a PC (with Outlook 2007 or later), try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved.
Note: iCloud Control Panel does not support Outlook 2010 Personal Edition. When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual menu (right-click) has also been disabled.
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration supported by iCloud.
Make sure that your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Learn about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel window. Learn about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
Make sure that iCloud is not your default account in Outlook:
In Outlook 2013 and 2010, select File > Info > Account Settings > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
In Outlook 2007, select File > Data File Management > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not updating on your other devices or vice versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the iCloud Control Panel:
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Make sure that the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook. (Learn more about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook.)
    Outlook 2013 and 2010:
    Open Outlook 2013 or 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
    Outlook 2007:
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Note: When enabling Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook .pst file to iCloud, then remove the Calendars from the .pst file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Make sure that you're looking for your data within the iCloud folder in Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data. iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.

    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • Outlook calendar invitations not showing in email

    I use Outlook with OSX10.9.5.
When I receive calendar invites, they don't come up in my email, so unless I scroll through my calendar looking for them, I don't know I've been invited. I used to get emails but suddenly they've stopped.  I've gone through preferences with a fine tooth comb and can't find anything related to this.  Please help.

Yes, all of my recurring events that do sync were created years ago in Outlook and I had no problem syncing them to my Blackberry Bold way back when. Initially when I got my iphone 4, everything synced both ways and then this year I got an iPad and intitally everything synced with it via iTunes/outlook with no problem. I've only noticed this problem within the last month or so and it drove me crazy. I reset both my ios devices but I refuse to uninstall and reinstall Outlook or iTunes. I've seen tons of posts on here that say it afffects the cloud, exchange servers and itunes so it's not just us. I've sent feedback to Apple and received no response. Others have too. Apple is aware of it and doesn't have a clue what to do about it. It now affects other events for me so I'm thinking maybe it has to do with default reminders and other things between Outlook and the ios devices. Maybe and update to iTunes or ios6 will change that, who knows. I still love my iPhone and would't go back to Blackberry; it's just way to slow for me.

  • Calendar Invite Attendee

    Hello!
I just replaced my Pearl with an 8900 Curve, but am having problems sending and receiving calendar invites as they are either not arriving at all or arrive just as text messages. This never used to happen on my Pearl a few days ago.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is not working?
    Thanks vm

No change to calendar invite status. Thinking I should just get a new handset to make sure.
Quite honestly, the calendar invite issue won't be a handset device hardware issue, it is a Service Book or email issue, something solvable with your own action in setting up the email to device.
First, getting your PIN of the current device may not be all you need to do.
Are you getting your emails to the device now? If so good.
So, go to Options > Advanced > Default Services, and select the email address the calendar profile will be connected to.
Also, Open your calendar and choose Menu > Options, and there also, select the calendar you will be using.
    And save.
Now try sending an invite again?

  • Can't forward Calendar Invites

I have been a Blackberry user and have made the switch. One thing I can not seem to do is...once a receive a calendar event (from outlook) on my I-Phone. I can't forward it to anyone if I want to invite them as well. It does not give me the option to do so. I can do this with the Blackberry. Can someone advise?

    Hmm,
Well you can accept calendar invites on the iPhone since 2.0 if you're using Exchange, but 3.0 added the ability send calendar invites from the phone with Exchange.
If you can't send or receive calendar invites by MobileMe it kind of puts a lie to the "MobileMe is exchange for the masses" comment from the keynote speeches doesn't it Maybe in 3.1 we'll see it, and maybe in 3.1 we'll be able to Sync Notes by MobileMe as well cough.
