Receiving calls on my mobile

It has become apparent that neither my mobile nor my wife's mobile are receiving incoming calls. When someone tries to call them it appears to ring three times at their end then goes to voicemail. Nothing happens on the mobile. A short while later I receive a text message to say I have missed a call. I have spoken to customer service who have tried a number of things but problem persists. It was agreed that it wasn't a phone fault. What should I do now? I have no problem making outgoing calls and receiving text messages and voicemail. My wife's account and mine are completely separate. Both phones have been checked for call forwarding and call reject and there is nothing set on the handsets.

An update on my previous message. I have again spoken to tech support and given them the info from my last message. Having now spent several hours speaking to tech support and driving round the area as requested by tech support, I am being told that everything I have done has been a complete waist of time as it would seem that engineers are working on a mast that serves my home address, and have been doing for a couple of days. Surely when I first rang that information was available and the fact that would have been causing my problem. I am now being told it could be a further3 days before service is fully restored. The lack of communication from a 'leading' communications provider is totally unacceptable. If leane_T has more useful and accurate information I would be pleased to receive it.

  • Why wont my phone send or receive calls. keeps saying mobile network not available

goes straight to voicemail when someone calls me and wont allow mine to go out

It means it's not seeing a mobile signal - what kind of phone do you have?  If there's a SIM card, try removing it, shut the phone off, reinsert the card and then restart the phone.  If you have no SIM card,, then dial *228, option 1, and let the phone reset.
If you still have no signal, it may be your location, or other factors.  Try these and report back if it's fixed or not, and if not, we can investigate more.

  • Skype number forwarding to mobile costing to much each receiving call??

Hi, I brought a skype number, I only want to use it for receiving incoming calls.. I do not wish to call anyone on my skype number.. But I've been having to buy credit a few times now because each time someone calls my skype number & i have it so it forwards to my mobile phone it's costing me to much ? Is there a cheaper way I can have my Skype number & receive incoming calls forwarded to my mobile phone? When I answer not on Skype, iPhone mobile phone number I pick the call from?? I subscribed to something I thought was it but I was rong because I still have no credit to receive calls to my mobile phone?
Can someone help me please ?

    Hey, Mell.johns
    Welcome to the Skype Community!
To better understand your inquiries, let me re-word your questions and then attempt to answer it.
Q: Is there a cheaper way to receive incoming calls from my Skype Number on my mobile phone?
A: Sure, you can answer calls from your iPhone for no additional charge by using Skype for iPhone! Sign in and your calls will ring there at the same time your computers signed onto Skype would!
Q: When I'm not on Skype, can I pick the call up from my iPhone mobile number?
A: Yes, but that requires Skype Credit or a calling subscription for calling out. Again, picking up from the iPhone app won't cost you more.
If these questions & answers do not satisfy you, please attempt to re-explain your questions in further detail so that we could try this again!

  • How to receive calls?

Since I go to business trip around the world quite ofter, I was looking for the best way for me to make and receive calls.
Since most of my business partners are not skype users AND I may not have internet connection, I would like to know how can I make and receive landline/mobile calls without any internet connection.
It seems to me that I can call someone's landline/mobile using a Skype To Go number without internet connection, but how exactly can I RECEIVE calls using this same Skype To Go number? I know that I can receive landline/mobile calls with Skype Number in Skype but that would require internet connection.
Again, for Pay As You Go and Subscription, how can I receive calls from landline/mobile?
    Thank you very much.

Are you wanting these calls to go to your voicemail automatically or you'll be answering live?

  • How to disable the prompt for password when receiving a call on Lync mobile on iPhone

We are doing a pilot on Lync 2013.  We have mobile phones: i Phones.
When we are receiving a call, we are prompted to enter password to take the call, which in certain cases, might be a real irritant.  Is there a way to bypass, or simply removing this prompt?

I am not aware of any password to receive calls (and certainly there's no option I am aware of within Lync mobility policy settings)
Is this a phone password (i.e. such as the PIN code) or do you enter your AD password?
If it's the phone password then you can turn it off through Settings > Passcode, unless it set by company policy (i.e through ActiveSync policies in which case this is set through Exchange). Bear in mind that if it is your phone password then you'll have
    no security on your phone.

Hello and welcome to the Skype Community.
    1. Skype Numbers are for receiving inbound calls only. You can't make calls from one.
    2. Skype doesn't charge for receiving calls.

  • Only receiving calls I make from my mobile

I am currently only able to receive calls on my RTX4088 that I make from my mobile.  I have already reset everything including my modem/router multiple times.  I can call out from the handset to all contacts just fine.  Must people calling me dial the "1" country code even though we are in the same country and area code?  I'll give this 72 hours before I call to have my landlilne reconnected and close the Skype account.

    Hi Boxergirl,
Did you happen to install anything else, or make any other changes to your system. I'm flummoxed how signing up for an online service could affect file associations. Here are the steps for resetting file associations on Windows 8.1: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows8_1-desktop/windows-81-how-to-set-a nd-restore-file/16c2e10d-ec99-4fee-8f56-b87c4338e006
Please let me know how it goes.

I am receiving calls from 911, 917, 918, 919, etc. I believe these are international calls from mobile phones in India. How can I block/stop them?

Unwanted calls are never pleasant! To confirm, are these calls only coming from 3 digits numbers? If coming from 10 digit number we offer 5 free blocks via https://wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/safeguards/SafeguardProductDetails.action?productName=callMessageBlocking. While not the most convenient, we also offer the ability to change your phone number free via http://www.vzw.com/myverizon.

  • I can't make calls. I try to call and it just stays at the "calling mobile" screen I can't receive calls either yet people can call me?

This has just recently happened to me i've experienced this once before but briefly and it went away, now I'm on vacation (still in Canada) I'm from Vancouver and i am in toronto, and this has now happened since I arrived off the airplan. I'm seriously unimpressed with this, I had the iPhone 3GS before this iPhone4s and never had any problems with it, what concerns me the most is that in case of an emergancy I have no way to call for help, so this needs to be solved and solved quickly, I'm asking this question publicly before I get rid of this phone and get a smart phone which would be bad since I buy gucci accessories and cases for my iPhone, so here is you're last chance to help me and convince me to stay with apple,
Also I forgot to mention that people can call me with no problem but when I answer I hear absolutely nothing, yet I've been told that they can hear me, my Internet works (obviously) and my texting works just not receiving calls or making outgoing calls.
Please respond here because I'm on vacation for another week and I cannot contact anyone via calls only via texts,
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Alexander.

Try restting as a new device and see if that corrects the issue... You must backup your data first.
iOS: How to back up your data and setup device as new
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
This will rule out any possible software issue, possibly with the receiver of the phone....especially if the issue continues when you return to a known area where you have no issues. I would normally say try the speaker phone to see if they can hear you but it doesn't sound like you can even get that far. If the issue persists you may have a hardware issue and will likely have to take the phone in for service.

  • Curve 8520 cannot send/receive calls or SMS when in range of WiFi - since foreign holiday

Re-posting this in the Curve forum, where it belongs... hoping someone can help.
Recently the whole family went to Spain for two weeks. All four of our phones (a Google Nexus 4, a BB Curve 9300 and two BBCurve 8520s) worked OK in Spain, connected to local mobile networks, sent and received texts and so on.
Since returning to the UK, the BlackBerry handsets have all had problems getting re-registered to our home network (giffgaff, which uses the O2 network, as I understand it). The nexus has been fine from the moment we got back, but the BB handsets are not.
The symptoms: when in range of a registered WiFi connection, the phones cannot send or receive texts (SMS) or make or receive calls, when out of range of WiFi, they do (sometimes) succeed. It is as though the WiFi settings are over-ruling the service books / HRT for the mobile network.
The 9300 seems to have sorted itself out, thanks (possibly) to an OS upgrade. The 8520s remain basically useless.
We have tried: battery pulls, SIM pulls, manual network registration, clearing the service books and re-registering, switching SIM cards between the phones (whichever SIM is in the 9300 works OK, whichever SIM is in the 8520 does not work), OS upgrade.
The network shows on the handset screen, and connection is shown as EDGE. But calls do not get connected and SMS messages fail with "too many retries". Attempts to re-register the handset result in a message being received that the handset has been registered but it makes no difference.
The network provider (giffgaff) say they have done everything they can, and I should speak to "an engineer" - but it seems very unlikely to me that all three phones suffered a hardware fault while flying home from Spain, and that the 9300 somehow fixed itself. So I'm convinced it is a registration issue, but giffgaff are not exactly confident in their support for BB.
So - has anyone ever seen this behaviour before, and how can we fix it?
    Thanks

  • Issue With Receiving Calls. PLEASE HELP!!!!

For the past couple of months both lines on my account have been experiencing issues. Randomly, when someone attempts to call one of the 2 lines (me or my wife), they receive the "Thank you for calling Verizon Wireless. The number you have reached has been changed, disconnected, or no longer in service." They then have to call back (sometimes multiple times before they can get through). I experience it when I call from my mobile to my wife's phone as well. It is become quite a pain and VZW has been NO help at all!!! They claim I am in a marginal service area. There are multiple problems with that statement.
    1. I am in a great service area and I always have full service.
    2. The problem does not always occur in my home service area!!!
The rep then changed her mind and said it must be equipment, however my wife has been through 3 different phones within the past couple of months.
She then recommended I changed carriers!!!!! This really upset me as I have Verizon service for everything (VZW and FiOS).
Can someone please recommend any kind of solution????

First, you really should consider calling another representative and report your disatisfaction with that prior rep. Advising you to switch carriers was in poor taste. They are trained quite thoroughly to assist customers to the fullest and not advise leaving VZW. Secondly, if the issue has transcended the device in that it has happened through multiple esn changes (your wife has been through 3, you wrote), then it obviously is not the device. Next, if you are experiencing intermittent issues with this in an area that otherwise works fine, it probably has nothing to do with the service coverage; if the coverage was a problem, you either would be unable to make a call at all, would have multiple dropped calls, or would experience an increasingly degraded call quality. This tells me that it has to do with the phone's connection to the network, which an over-the-air program attempt might resolve (*228, option number 1 - you could even possibly get away with option number 2) like the prior individual explained above. The likelihood is that you are going to need to file a trouble ticket with your lines, which can only be done through technical support after going through the initial level of troubleshooting through customer care. You really should call them again, with this knowledge backing you up.

  • Online Number is not forwarding calls to my mobile

    Hi,
I have gone premium and selected unlimited landline for Australia. I have then bought an Online Australian Number. After setting up call forward to my Indian Mobile Number the calls are not getting forwarded, although the calls appear on Skype Client when I'm online. I have tried setting privacy and all that stuff, but it yet does not work. In the Call Forward tab following message is displayed: "All calls forwarded to phones covered by your subscription are included at no extra cost. Other destinations will be charged at our low per minute rates."
Am I missing something? Do I still need to buy credit? Thanks so much,
    Kind Regards
    Prabh

    Hello,
Skype Number enables you to receive calls on your Skype account and the caller will be charged local rates.
To receive calls to your Skype Number, you should be online on your Skype application, or you can enable call forwarding and voice messaging. And also, please make sure that you are signed in to only one device.
Please make sure that you have set up your Privacy Settings to "Received calls from anyone."
    Sign in to Skype.
    Tap the menu icon .
    Select Settings.
Go to Receive calls from option.

  • My iphone 5 is showing the network and 3G logos but has no signal bars and I cannot make or receive calls or use the internet

    Hi,
I recently bought my iPhone5 second hand off a friend.  Having inserted my sim the O2 network logo and 3G symbols appear in the top left although there is no signal registered.  I am also unable to make or receive calls as well as use the mobile internet.
The phone is registered to O2 so there is no network clash

    Hello denman1991,
It sounds like your phone is not connecting to the cellular provider network, and you are also unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network. I would recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
iPhone: Troubleshooting issues making or receiving calls
    https://support.apple.com/kb/TS3406
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
    Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
    Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
    Restore the phone as new.
Also, for your Wi-Fi network issues, I would recommend this article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
