Receiving calls via BT Homehub2

I have today installed a BT homehub2 to work as a router for my computers' connection to the internet.
I have a hub phone, also provided by BT, and it can make outgoing calls.  Does anyone know if these cost me anything?
Is it capable of receiving incoming calls, and what number do people need to dial in order to ring my homehub phone (or have I missed the point!).
Finally, do BT provide any (training) support for broadband phones - do they have a contact number or email address?
Thanks.  Andrew Mozley

Just to confirm you have the Broadband talk facility on your homehub, you will need to check the status of the light on your HH, it's the fourth one down (marked with a handset).
If this is blue you would have BB talk, this is VOIP (voice over internet protocol) You would be provided another telephone number for this, could either be a geographical number (same as you area code, 01234 etc) or it could be a 056XXXX number.
The best way to find out either way would be to call your mobile phone from this line and check what number is displayed.
More details and pricing check the BT.com website Here
Calls are normally cheaper via BBtalk and you will prob have the free evening and weekend package.
PS. To switch from a BB talk call and a normal landline call you will need to dial a 5 on your hubphone, you can tell when it's switched as there is a different dialtone.
You can also setup what rings in your house when people call your BBtalk number, check in the homehub setup.
No training, just info on the BBtalk website

I understand that callers pay for a local call (so long as they're close to that local number)

Is there a software in which I can hook up my iPhone 4s to my computer and send and receive text messages and calls (via headset) through my computer? Whether it's free or cost money, can someone please give me a name of a program or software that allows me to do this? I can't seem to find anything like this for the iPhone.

  • IPhone calls via Mac not possible: I can't make phone calls on my Mac (via iPhone) although I am able to receive and accept those from others.

I can't make phone calls on my Mac (via iPhone) although I am able to receive and accept those from others.
I have activated all relevant options in FaceTime (either on the iPhone or Mac) but without success.
    Mac > Yosemite 10.10
    iPhone (5) > iOS 8.1
After trying a call via the iPhone in the "Message App" on my Mac - it says "iPhone and Mac must be in the same network"...
They definitely are... also I have logged in with the same Apple-ID's, etc.
    Can anybody help?
    Zadek

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, it does not make a difference. It still shows "iPhone not available. iPhone and Mac have to be in the same network"
Are there any settings which are fundamental on the iPhone, I have activated:
    - iCloud Drive
    - FaceTime (FaceTime and iPhone Mobile Calls activated)
The only strange thing - on Yosemite I can activate mobile phone number AND email in FaceTime whereas I can activate just my email in the FaceTime app on my iPhone...

  • RECEIVE calls on mobile via Wi-Fi?

I have wi-fi in my home, my verizon network is almost nonexistent inside my home which is mostly underground, I rarely actually receive phone calls unless I am near either of my doors. This isn't a problem in most cases, however I need to be able to receive phone calls from one of my clients in case they have an emergency arise. I can text sometimes, but generally phone call quality, as described above, is very poor. I have tried mobile apps that allow calls via wifi, but the ones I've downloaded either are made so that only you can initiate the phone call (not receive), or they require that the incoming caller has to also be using (and calling from) the app, which isn't a possibility in this situation. Please advise!!
    Thanks much!

  • I can't make calls. I try to call and it just stays at the "calling mobile" screen I can't receive calls either yet people can call me?

This has just recently happened to me i've experienced this once before but briefly and it went away, now I'm on vacation (still in Canada) I'm from Vancouver and i am in toronto, and this has now happened since I arrived off the airplan. I'm seriously unimpressed with this, I had the iPhone 3GS before this iPhone4s and never had any problems with it, what concerns me the most is that in case of an emergancy I have no way to call for help, so this needs to be solved and solved quickly, I'm asking this question publicly before I get rid of this phone and get a smart phone which would be bad since I buy gucci accessories and cases for my iPhone, so here is you're last chance to help me and convince me to stay with apple,
Also I forgot to mention that people can call me with no problem but when I answer I hear absolutely nothing, yet I've been told that they can hear me, my Internet works (obviously) and my texting works just not receiving calls or making outgoing calls.
Please respond here because I'm on vacation for another week and I cannot contact anyone via calls only via texts,
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Alexander.

Hmm... both microphones are free from obstruction? The mic on top next to headphone jack and the the mic on the bottom...
Try restting as a new device and see if that corrects the issue... You must backup your data first.
iOS: How to back up your data and setup device as new

This will rule out any possible software issue, possibly with the receiver of the phone....especially if the issue continues when you return to a known area where you have no issues. I would normally say try the speaker phone to see if they can hear you but it doesn't sound like you can even get that far. If the issue persists you may have a hardware issue and will likely have to take the phone in for service.

  • JNI_CreateJavaVM hangs in DLL called via Adobe plug-in

We have a plugin that works in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader. The plugin is written in VS2008 VC++ and calls into a DLL that we have written.
The DLL in turn uses JNI and calls into some Java code. We've tested the DLL and calls into Java separately and that works OK.
But when it is called via the plugin in Acrobat it is failing. It seems to die immediately during the JNI initialization in that case. There is a method called JNI_CreateJavaVM where it hangs.
Do you have any idea why that might happen? Is there something protected that would not permit a dll within the scope of Acrobat to call into Java code?

    Hi Leonard,
Can you please let me know the URL and any other contact information for opening a formal case with Adobe developer support group that can help with this issue?
I appreciate your time and consideration.

  • How to set a cookie in the browser from an html page called via an Iview

How to set a cookie in the browser from an html page called via an Iview
    Hello all,
I have an issue which is causing problems. I have a snap survey (html form with submit and cookie setting) which is embedded in a url iview.
Although the submit and the form work fine, the portal will not allow the cookie to be set it seems.
Is there a way to allow cookies to be set from an embedded page in a url iview??
You will make my day if you know!

    Kind regards
    Alex

    Hi,
    Check this:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/html/same_cookie_domain_with_pdkv2.html
    Cookie Basics
Web browsers have built in rules for receiving and sending cookies. When a browser makes a request to a web server and the web server returns cookies with the response, the browser will only accept a cookie if the domain associated with the cookie matches that of the original request. Similarly, when a browser makes a subsequent request, it will only send those cookies whose domain matches that of the target web server.
These rules are designed to ensure that information encoded in cookies is only "seen" by the web server(s) that the originator of the cookie intended. These rules also ensure that the cookie cannot be corrupted or imitated by another server. By default, the domain associated with a cookie exactly matches that of the server that created it. However, it is possible to modify the domain at the time the cookie is created. Relaxing the cookie domain increases the scope of the cookie's visibility making it available to a wider "audience" of web servers.
For example, if a cookie is created by a.us.oracle.com, it's domain will usually be set to a.us.oracle.com. This means that the browser will only send the cookie to a.us.oracle.com. It will never send it to any other servers. However, if at the time of creation, the domain of the cookie is set to .us.oracle.com, the browser will send the cookie to any server whose domain falls within .us.oracle.com. such as portal.us.oracle.com, provider.us.oracle.com, app.us.oracle.com etc

  • N97: making voip calls via the GSM mobile

    Hi All;
I am facing a problem that my Nokia N97 that is working with VoIP (via the SIP), is only working if I am using my wireless internet in the home (via the access point), but when I try to do the call using my GSM internet service provider (we call it EGO and in some countries it is GPRS).
Some other mobile, they support VoIP using the wireless access point or the internet via the GSM (mobile) service provider ...
So how can I fix this issue on my N97?
    Regards
    Bilal

I have the same problem: I can make and receive calls using my router but not through GPRS allthough i did set AWCDMA' and 'UAWMAC' to ON

  • Want to make phone calls via bluetooth on my iPhone from iPad

I can link my Garmin GPS to my iPhone via Bluetooth and make or receive phone calls.
I would like an iPas app that provides the sametype functionality including:
    Make calls
    Receive calls
    Look uphone numbers
Is this possible?  Using what app?

There are a couple of Apps out there that will allow you to use a Google Voice phone number to make and recieve calls via the iPad. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. If you are trying to replicate the Garmin / iPhone setup I don't think that is possible.
Google Voice  setup - gvconnect and talkatone. (wifi)
Skype - I think that you can make phone calls via Skype and Wifi.
I don't have a clue as if it is possible to make a phone call over 3G via the iPad.

  • Service Call via RFC

    Hi all.
I am currently starting with WDA and facing some problems in calling BAPI via RFC.
We have a "plain" WAS without SD or other modules. Our data is distributed over multiple R/3 systems.
When I try to implement a Service Call to the BAPI BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETLIST via RFC I got the error message that this FM is not available in the current system (WAS).
Does anyone has experience in how to get this working?
What is the best practice here?
    - Building wrapper on WAS which calls the FM via RFC on the other system?
    - Installing missing modules on WAS ?
    Any comment would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Sascha

    Hi again.
To shorten development time we considered the following solution:
We are generating web service proxy classes on the WAS for the BAPIs of the R/3 system we want to use. Afterwards we are generating wrapper function modules which will use these proxies. So we do not have to import all missing structrues cause these are generated automatically during proxy generation.
I tested this already with BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETDETAIL2. Calling the wrapping fm which calls the service proxy works fine from se80. I do get a result via the service.
Then i generated a service call for my WEBDynpro component using the wizard in WDA.
Silly is that the generated code is not compilable cause of missing ,. Anyway after correcting I tried to run my webdynpro application and when the fm gets called via the generated service method I receive the following message:
    CODE           SOAP:111
    ERRORTEXT     Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)
    Any ideas?
Why is it working when i call the fm directly but not when calling it from my webdynpro app?
    Thanks in advance
    Sascha
