Receiving contact info via messaging
I have a new 3GS and all seems well. My son has one also and I asked him to send me a contact through text messaging. He tried and no go. He can send me a text but not the contact. He can send them to my wife's 3GS. I have gone through everything to try and fix it but am coming up with nothing. Help!!
Yes hers is and I got the solve. Apple support went through it and came up with a carrier issue. I called their support and they could not do it right away but did say that it is an issue on their end. I am awaiting the solve. They say 24-48 hours. They will text me to state all is well. When it is actually done I will come back and give my final piece so someone can use it for future reference. Happy New Year!!

Business card/vCard is exchanged through MMS and not by SMS.
Make sure your MMS is configured and activated and you have cellular data/3G ON while exchanging MMS. -
Export contact info via Bluetooth to auto
My Toyota Highlander can receive contact information via Bluetooth but I can't find any way to transmit it from my iPhone. Any ideas?
You can check on the Toyota website what your compatibility is. I've got a 2007 RAV4, and it won't accept data from the iPhone via Bluetooth, although it will dial numbers.

Hello together,
I actually try to modify contact informationens like Phone Number, email etc called VCARD via the EPASSoap Interface.
I found a function called modify-contact-info but this doesnt work.
The Problem is the response gives me a 'content' => 'succeeded', but in real he has not changed the vcard. Can anybody help?

Appologies in advance if this has been asked before.
I have an iPhone 5/iOS 6. My friend(s) use Android phones. At times, they request a contact I have, but every time I select "Share Contact" via the button in my iPhone's Contact list, either as an Email or Message, they recieve an unusable file format - in other words, it just doesn't get to them. If I manually copy and paste the fields into a txt, they will get the info. Is there an app, or something I need to do differently to be able to share contacts with Android users via the "Share Contact" button in iOS?

NathanShouldn't be an issue here, as the iPhone shares the contact info in standard vCard format.

E72 - Phone loses contact info/ sms messages after...

I switched from a win mo IPAQ to the E72 ..I absolutely love this device!
The problem i am facing is that everytime I connect to the PC Suite i lose part or sometimes my entire inbox content. The first time i connected to the suite it wiped out all my email accounts. 2nd time it wiped out all my recently added contacts. I am unable to retrieve them... I just connected my phone to the suite right now and it wiped out part of my inbox.
Has anyone encountered such a problem? Please advice.

I am a newby like you but I faced a similar problem with my Nokia E71. I cannot synchronise with my Outlook contacts but it sends me to the OVI one.
This forced me to look into the synchronise settings. If you go to Tools>Syncronise. Once you are in you should see the PC suite. Go to Options. Then you should see different settings. One thing that springs to mind is whether you have syncronisation both ways, i.e. PC Suite and phone update each other instead of one takes over the other.
One thing to bear in mind, as Nokia E72 is FP2 whilst E71 is FP I am not sure whether they share the same software.

Since upgrading to IOS7 my ipad will not show contact info for messages. On my iphone the upgrade works fine.
Hi, In such case, try to check the things below:
1> Make sure all contacts are stored in unique memory : sim or phone memory (recommend phone memory)
2> Try to avoid 1 contacts has few numbers and other case, similar or same names for fews contacts
3> Add your country code into the normal number format, eg: 0123455678 --> saved as +60 12345678 (+60 is the country code for MY)
4> Check the settings under Contacts folder: Contacts > Settings > Contact view or Display contacts > try to change Last name/ First name view option one by one -

iPhone 4S, the last two versions of IOS: I receive a text, in iMessage, reply, get error message instructing me to use valid 10 digit number. Only this person. I've deleted and re-entered her contact info - still cant send txt. What's up? ATT says they've never seen this. I thought I used to be able to share contact information with another iphone user via messaging. Recently I tried sharing both contact information and "note", but have been able to do so. When I try touching the send button, nothing happens. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or, am I mistaken, is sharing via messaging not an option?
If I send via email from either iPhone or iPad it seems like it has sent but it doesn't. If I send via text message from iPhone it says message failed to send and won't send again no matter how many times I try

No Call or Contact Info on my Text Messaging screen
Ihave an iPhone 3G - but I don't have the Call or Contact Info button available on my text messages screen. It is infuriating to receive a text from someone not in my contacts list and (a) I can't call them and (b) I can't add them to my contacts as I don't have either of these options displaying on my screen within Text Messages. My friend has the same model of phone and does have these options available. I cannot find where to amend the settings. Please help.
Actually have found the buttons right at the top of all the message stream for each text.

iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

Messaging does not let me move from one conversation to another without going to the contact info of the person and choosing "send a message", then I can continue the conversation. I'm sure it's a setting I have made by mistake, but can't figure it out

Here si what I do:
Since I tend to message with teh same people I leave the messages available to me. If you are in one conversation with "Karen" and want to message with "Kathy" tap the message back arrow and select Kathy.
As always just be careful to rememeber who you are messaging to! -

When a group of files is selected, how can I copy just the file names?
I used to be able to select a group of files in a finder window, copy, then paste the names in an email or document. It no longer allows this. Is there away around this other than copying each file name individually?

Why are mxml docs showing as Unix executables?
Every time I save an mxml file, either from Flex builder, TextMate, or BBEdit its icon shows as a Unix executable (and it does indeed have execute set). Why is this, and how can I ensure it always just shows as a plain text file, which is what it is?
