Receiving double alerts from Calendar ...
Hi,
I am experincing double email alerts from Calendar. Not all alerts are doubled though.
As an example, I asked Calendar to send me an email 7 days before my November 5th appointment. The appointment is sceduled from 4H00PM (16H00) to 5H00PM (17H00). I received 2 emails ... one at 5H00PM (17H00) and one at 5H21PM (17H21). See the picture below.
Why am I receiving 2 email alerts ? Could this be related to the Calendar app on my iPad or my iPhone ? But then I would receive 3 alerts ... !!!

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
Since syncing will transfer all calendar events as they are on Outlook (or Exchange server), it may not be possible to filter out this information on the phone.
What you can do though, is to disable the calendar notifications on your device.
To turn off all Calendar notifications (sound alerts):
Menu > Calendar > Options > Settings > Calendar alarm tone > None

Not receiving email alerts from my bank
I have my bank's online alert system set up to send me email when certain actions occur to my account. These alerts stopped coming to me some time in January. I thought it was a problem at their end because they had said that they were upgrading their system, but yesterday I added a Gmail address to the alerts and those are now coming through!
I have checked the spam folder on my computer (I usually use Forte Agent to receive mail via POP) and have disabled spam filtering at Verizon's end, but the email from the bank won't come to my @verizon.net addresses. I would prefer not to use a Gmail address for this, as Google knows too much about me as it is, I don't need them sniffing the alerts I get from my bank!
As far as I know all other email is getting through to my @verizon.net addresses, but I guess I can't be sure of that!Telcoguru wrote:

They haven't sent me any messages about their email being bounced, and I haven't called them to ask about it. I assume that their alert system is automated and have not tried sending any questions to its address. The bank's web site doesn't list any email contact addresses, just a phone number to call, and I really don't like calling customer service voice numbers and have someone make me go through all of the steps I've already tried!
Is there a page somewhere on the Verizon site listing the blacklisted ip addresses? -
Wish there was a snooze function with alerts from calendar on iphone
hey guys, does anyone know of an app that acts like microsoft outlook in the way that, when you set a reminder, and it pops up on your iphone -BUT then gives you the option to snooze for 5mins, 10 mins, 15mins, etc.. until you "dismiss" the reminder? right now the calendar on the iphone doesnt let you snooze it, or maybe im just not doing it right. any help? thanks guys
No. For any calendar app to even generate the first alert, that app would need to be left running constantly since 3rd party apps cannot run in the background. Maybe with 3.0 and push notifications, there will be a 3rd party workaround, but don't hold your breath.
Really, it's up to Apple to implement a snooze function - it would be best if integrated into the Calendar app. -
Sync with new mac and received 6xx conflict alert on calendar and notes
I would like to have my iphone sync with my new mbp instead of my imac.
I transferred the itunes library, mobilesync folder, itunes folder,addressbook and ical data from imac to macbook open.
When I opened the addressbook, ical, notes, everything looks fine and they are showing up to date details.
When I sync with my iphone, I received an alert from the sync regards to about 600 new item add onto my calendar and they are deleting 6xx item. most of them are either a few minutes different or a day different.
If the ical calendar is from the same backup file as iphone used to sync with, why will there be such a numbers of conflict?
In terms of note, when I tried to modify my notes either on iphone or mbp, instead of updating the existing file, it will generate a few file.
Is there any way to fix the issue? Or can I restore my address book and ical to a fresh status so I can just sync the iphone detail onto them to avoid the conflict?
Many thanks for all your helpSyncing doesn't touch your camera roll except to include the photos and videos in the backup created during the syncing process. But if you want to be safe, without connecting your phone, go to iTunes>Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Now you can connect your phone to your new mac without syncing and import your camera roll photos and videos to iPhoto (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083). This will not transfer non-camera roll photos; if you need to transfer these you might want to either stream them to your mac (if you're running OS X Lion) using Photo Stream (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html) or use an app like PhotoSync to wirelessly send them to your mac.
As far as contacts, I'm not familiar with iDrive Lite, but if you want to transfer you contacts to Address Book on your new mac you might want to use the app My Contacts Backup. This will back up your contacts as an attachment to an email. Send the email to yourself, open it on your mac and double-click the attachment to import your contacts to Address Book.
Next, you'll need to import all your music into your new iTunes library from your external drive prior to syncing. Music purchased from iTunes, along with apps and other purchased media can be transferred from your phone to your iTunes library by following the steps outlined in this guide: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. Take special care to have at least one event in iCal prior to syncing, which will trigger a merge or replace prompt when you sync; when you see this choose merge. -
Can I create alerts/reminders for events on the server's wiki iCal so that all user who are subscribed to that calendar will receive an alert from their desktop iCal?

Mac Server Snow LeopardBump for solution. I have 10.7 server with Wiki's providing group calendars. So far all of my attempts to get alerts to show up for everyone have fallen short.

My wife decided to use her calendar on her iPhone 5 via our iCloud account so that it will be synchronized with her iPad 3.
I have been using it for many years for leisure activities and for my work.
Althought she chose, in her calendar settings, to only see her calendar and not my calendars (I have many for leisure activities, for one of my job, for my other job etc...), she still gets alerts from my calendar events even thought she do not see the events on her iPhone nor on her iPad.
Has anyone a solution for this ?
I read many things on internet about this but found no solutions yet.Well, let take the personal service point of view : let say, I had two calendars on my iCloud account : one for work, one for my leisure activities.
On my MacBook Pro that I use at home as well as at my office, I would want the two calendars to show and since I am alone in my office, I would want the alerts for both my work and my leisure activities to show (and make a sound at the same time).
But on my iPad that I only use at home, I would only want my leisure activities alerts to show (and make a sound) and on my iPhone that I only use for work, I would only want my work alerts to show (and make a sound).
That is a personal service that simply does not work.
Why would Apple give us the opportunity to hide some calendars on certain devices but not allow us, on these same devices, to switch off the alerts linked to these calendars that we have chosen to hide ? Why having alerts of calendars that do not even show on these devices ?
And I am an Apple fan since 1984, since the very first Mac. I still do believe Macs and Apple devices and/or software (iOS, OS X and others...) are much better and much more efficient than " Microsoft, Windows, Google and other Android devices and software.
But that does not mean everything's perfect (and I find that quite normal).
Nevertheless, in this case, letting alerts make a sound on a device where a specific calendar is not shown, that does not make any sense : when uncheking those calendars, the alerts linked to those calendars should be automatically switch off (but alerts should be able to work on the calendars that are shown.) -

YES today in the UK, the email text is as below, together with several Links to "Apple" sites and an Apple logo and European support address.
Fairly crude but could fool naive users.
Any one know how to get to the addresses behind the links without clicking them? Just copying and pasting as plain text doesn't seem to work. Any other way just copies the Hyperlink.

IPhone alerts from subscribed calendars
Hi there,
I keep getting alerts from colleagues subscribed calendars that are synced to my iPhone via mobile me. In iCal, I have selected to "Remove Alarms, Attachements, and To Do Items" from their "Get Info" menu.
Any solution for this? Thanks.I guess that's why it's called me.com... All about me, not us and sharing.
How do we get an acknowledgenent from Apple when encountering stuff like this? I'd guess there is a large percentage of customers that are partners and wish to SEE the other's calendar, but not get the reminders. -

Since I've bought an iPhone 4s, I can't sinc ical from my iPad to my iPhone. Even my appointments in iCloud. When I try to do it from my mac I receive an alert 507 " operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation". I don't know what it means. Can U help me?
You need to have the latest version of iTunes on the computer, version 11.1.3 to be able to handle syncing a newer phone with iOS 7. The iTunes on the iPhone has nothing to do with syncing and is installed by the iOS.
Go to iTunes on the computer, click on Help, Check for updates to update iTunes on the computer, or go to to www.apple.com/itunes/download and download and install the latest version of iTunes to correct your problem. -
I have 2 email addresses on the phone. How come only one accepts a alert tone. When I receive an email from 2nd email it does not notify me of its arrival. What am I doing wrong?
Each email account can have its own alert or notification settings.
Settings > Notifications > Mail > tap on each account and set the alerts you want. -
IPhone not receiving calls, and receiving double texts
I have read through these forums, and searched this on google and haven't found a solution to this problem, or anybody with a similar issue.
Over the last two to three weeks, I have had many people telling me they'll call, and it won't go to voicemail, but instead it'll state that # is not reciving calls at the moment, my phone will be turned on and will never ring. Also along with that I'll have an issue where I am receiving double text messages from time to time, it'll happen at least 5 times a day.
I would take my phone to Apple, but as it'll be hard to produce these results at the genius bar I'm not sure they'll be able to do much, and my iP4 is out of warranty.
So far I've tried these things:
System Restore
Reset All Settings
Reset Network Settings
None of these work, the Restore will work for a day or two, but the issue will come back everytime.

I'll have to use the standby button to put the phone to sleep, then wake it up and then the home button will start working again.
