Receiving duplicate e-mails

Why do I receive 200 of the same e-mails in one day?  Is it my pearl 8130 or is the problem with the sender?  This only occurs on my phone not in outlook.

From which mail ID you're receiving mails? Did you try deleting the mail ID and reintegrating it again?

  • Mail receive duplicates e-mails, I switch to Thunderbird

Sorry Apple, Mail is really not a gift. I use it for years because I wanted to forget Outlook or Entourage years. I found it was a good idea to use email soft integrated in OS. Now I'm fed up :
    - From several month, in spite of several upgrades, I always receive duplicates e-mails (even following the steps on your support site).
    - Junk mail doesn't works (Mail leaves marked Unwanted messages in Inbox).
    - Font and color palettes are really a pain. (I have discovered recently that actually the font palette is inspired by its sister in Windows WordPad !)
    - Sometimes, text pasted in the compose message window from different sources become impossible to format (lines breaks anywhere, crazy line spacing, etc.
    - No way to control if a file in particular is shown in the body or as attachment.
    etc.
So I switch to Mozilla ThunderBird (1.5.0.4) not so smart either anyway.
    - Difficult to import messages from mail (but i succeded finally)
    - Idem for addresses.
    - There is aslo a big bug for the moment : you cannot paste an image in the message body !
    Sigh

    Dear mister Allan Sampson
I'm happy you finally got into the light. It seems I owe it you that my previous posts were censured. By advance, may you excuse my poor english ?
What I notice first, is that I'm said that my post dislikes when you answer to it but not when you simply trash-it. You could have told me what was wrong with my message. So I'm obliged to guess what is wrong by myself.
1 = it contains "beep" words ? However "fed up" or bored appears hundreds times in the forum.
2 = I name competitors ? Yes, but I name their lacks too. The word "thunderbird" appears hundreds time on the forum.
3 = my post was not actually a question to members ? No indeed, I only post questions when I dare to disturb people when I'm lost with an issue.
4 = I sould have write to http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/ ? Well I didn't know this adress but be sure know I note it.
And did you know I'm an Apple suporter since 1987, have bought a dozen of Macs and selled the twice ? You wanna imagine how much bugs I had to deal with in that carreer ?

  • Has anyone solved the problem of receiving duplicate e-mails?

I've posted this previously, but not gotten any satisfactory responses. A mail account I've been using for years is suddenly receiving duplicates. I have about ten mail accounts on my Mail app, and only this one is having this problem. I haven't changed any rules, I don't have a duplicate account. It's a huge pain, because there's so much I have to delete outright whenever I check my mail, plus, I have to do twice as much maintenance to keep down the amount of trash in the application. Anyone have any idea if this is a bug from a recent update? Or what's going on?
I've got the latest version of the OS X and mail (10.5.7 and 3.6). The account has been many places -- it was on my old G4 that had Tiger, then I got an aluminum Intel Core 2 Extreme iMac with Leopard and migrated everything over from the old system; then Apple had to replace my iMac three times because of power issues. Actually, it originated long before my G4 with Tiger. I've used this account forever. The problem, however, just cropped up spontaneously a few months ago, with no changes on my end. Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you looked on the web site for that one account to see if there are duplicate messages there? If not check that first. If therre aren't any duplicates there, the problem could be as simple as a corrupted Mail Index, which would be an easy fix. Post back with results.

  • Receiving multiple e-mails from another .Mac account

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but my fiance and I usually e-mail each-other back and forth throughout the course of the day. I, via my .Mac account on my iPhone and her, through the .Mac webmail.
The last few days, however, I've been receiving duplicate e-mail from her on my iPhone. It started out a few days ago with just one or maybe two duplicated in my inbox, but today I just received SEVEN copies of the same e-mail. She, on the other hand, is not experiencing the duplicate e-mail which leads me to believe that this is an iPhone related issue.
If its of importance, we're on a "Family Pack" .Mac account and it doesn't seem to make a difference if I'm connected via WIFI or simply EDGE.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Perhaps much more detail would help?
Could you ever send e-mail from the iphone?
Can you send e-mail from the same account on your computer?
When you try to send e-mail from iphone to you get an error message?
    What is the message?
Do you have a connection to the internet (edge, 3g, wi-fi)?

  • Duplicate e-Mail Since Upgraded to 3.0

I am receiving duplicate e-mails on my iPhone since the upgrade to 3.0 when retrieving over the air or from wi-fi. I have an original iPhone (2G) with 16g. I have 3 e-mail accounts, 2 are from gmail (both giving me duplicates) and 1 from ATT (no duplicates). The e-mail service with gmail on my MacBook are using IMAP, whereas the ATT mail is POP. e-Mail on my MacBook is just fine, as it is if I retrieve via the net from gmail. Only duplicates appear on my iPhone.
If I delete just one of the e-mails, it actually deletes both. So I have to choose to keep both, or both get deleted.
Any solutions out there to this, or is Apple addressing??
    Thanks

I'm having the same issue with a POP account on my iPhone 3G S with OS 3.0 (I didn't have this before with the same account config on a 2.x 3G, which I upgraded.) My GMail and Yahoo! mail accounts seem to be OK (although I don't get as much mail at either of those).
The duplicate issue comes and goes; not every message is duplicated on my iPhone. None of the messages are actually duplicated on the POP server.

  • Receiving Duplicate emails on shared Mailbox

We are using Exchange Server 2007 and outlook client is Outlook 2010.
We are not using PST concepts(that is mails downloaded to local copy and remove from the Server).
one of the shared mailbox is accessed by many people and they are receiving duplicate emails frequently on the shared mailbox.
Is there any solution to stop receiving duplicate email.

    Hi,
Agree with Willard. Please check if these duplicate messages have the same Message ID.
If they are sent separately, we can't stop this. If they have the same Message ID, please check whether there is corrupted rules in Outlook.
Besides, please check if there is any third party add-ins from Outlook user side. If the shared mailbox is accessed by 5 users, then we need to disable add-ins on these 5 users' Outlook client.

  • Is it safe to delete duplicate e-mail accounts on iPhone?

Downloaded new iTunes update 4.3.5 to my iMac OS 10.6.8.  Then did a sync to my iPhone 4.   Now the Mailbox on my iPhone 4 reflects the Yahoo account it has always reflected but now two duplicate sbcglobal accounts have also appeared.  Is it safe to delete the two duplicate sbcglobal accounts?   Many previously deleted e-mails have also reappeared.

I am new to this community so I may be doing something wrong...since it has been almost 3 hours and I've not received any replies regarding my question about duplicate e-mail accounts.  Or is it just that no one has an answer for me?
I've read lots of replies regarding the error to the download 4.3.5 but none of them were my issue.  Thanks for anyone's help!

  • Stop Duplicate E-mail Sending, How ???

    Hello.
    Versions:
    CF8, MySQL 5.5.27
    Database record fields:
, FirstAttemptByCertNumber <-- same certification number
    , SecondAttemptByCertNumber
, ThirdAttemptByCertNumber <-- same certification number
    , FourthAttemptByCertNumber
    Scenario:
Web based airway management report. Four attempts are allowed per patient. An individual attempts an airway insertion and is not successful. This would be recorded in the first attempt section of the report. A different person does a second and attempt and is not successful. The first person attempts a third time and this time around is successful. So the FirstAttemptByCertNumber and ThirdAttemptByCertNumber DB fields would contain the same certification number. After the information is inserted into the DB and e-mail is generated and sent out. Client would like to have all information in a single DB record
The goal (if possible) is to only send out one e-mail for each Certification Number in the DB record. I am able to get the last record id inserted, but cannot seem to get my head around how to stop duplicate e-mail sending.
Is this even possible and if so, any suggestions on how to accomplish such a task? If more clarification is required please ask.
    TIA - Leonard B

My machine sends them immediately with a prefix in the Subject line saying <RE: hi > then the original email title.
And you have verified that they are indeed being sent by your computer based on an analysis of tcpdump logs or Wireshark logs running on another "believed clean"computer on the same LAN? I would strongly encourage you to submit excerpts of these logs to the likes of Intego, MacScan, etc., if so. You haven't downloaded any freeware from sites of unverifiable integrity, right? Is your DNS settings directing you to the DNS servers that you think they are (perhaps rerouting your sent mail to a rogue smtp server)? In Terminal, type scutil⏎ then type show State:/Network/Global/DNS⏎ and make sure you recognize the IP addresses of the reported DNS servers. (type exit⏎ to exit scutil)
Spammers in Africa can't send their results immediately. Looking at the long headers of a spam returned to me, it's got the same routing info as me and was sent at the same time.
Why not? I doubt that there is some guy sitting there manually doing this with email messages, it is automated, and would probably take milliseconds to duplicate your email, append the canned spam message, and shotgun it back out onto the internet. I live in Colorado and I picked a random server in New Zealand and pinged it (don't trust even pinging anything in some locales). The results?
    myOldMac:~ jv$ ping {hidden}.org.nz
    PING {hidden}.org.nz (202.6.116.6): 56 data bytes
    64 bytes from NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN: icmp_seq=0 ttl=52 time=168.514 ms
    64 bytes from NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN: icmp_seq=1 ttl=52 time=167.807 ms
    64 bytes from NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN: icmp_seq=2 ttl=52 time=167.624 ms
    64 bytes from NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN: icmp_seq=3 ttl=52 time=167.954 ms
    --- {hidden}.org.nz ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
    round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 167.624/167.975/168.514/0.333 ms
That's only one-sixth of one second ... that's pretty fast.

  • Duplicate e-mails

    Hi All,
I am getting one strange problem. I am using javamail to send some notification to all of my applicatio users. But I don't know some of the users are getting 200-250 copies of same e-mail and I am not able to find out what could be the reason. Here is the code which I am using to send the e-mail.

  • Receiving duplicate Gmail messages (IMAP)

When receiving messages from my Gmail account in Mail, I receive duplicates. One copy is at the top of the left-hand column under the heading "Inbox." the other is on the bottom of the same column under "Gmail>All Mail." So, when I receive an email, I get the notification that I've two unread messages in my account.
Also, when I receive messages that go straight to the "Spam" folder through Gmail, I receive a notification that Mail has received a new message. In other words, I wake up every day to 15 messages. But 14 of those so happen to be spam.
Can someone help me with adjusting the settings for the issues I've listed above?

I asked this question in the Google help forums and got this ANSWER (which WORKS!):
"You can hide All Mail from Apple Mail and other IMAP clients, if you enable the Advanced IMAP Controls lab."

  • Duplicate Inbox Mails

Help! I keep receiving my e-mails in duplicate! I think I created a new account and that's why, but now I don't know how to undo it. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Francisco!
You may have duplicate accounts or duplicate
mailboxes. First go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts
and see what you have there in the left window pane.
That's where your accounts are listed. If you don't
see anything funny there then just go to your inbox
icon on the left side of your main Mail window.
Assuming you have more than one account you will
have a small arrow that will drop down to reveal all
the accounts there. Take a look if you have any
duplicates there. If you find a duplicate account
it's ok to delete it just make sure you get the
right one. Check the messages inside and keep the
original one and delete the one that was duplicated
    somehow...
    Hope that helps...post back ok?
    Reg
Okay, I did the little triangle thing and I found that I have two accounts: one is "[email protected]" and the other reads ".mac account." I don't know how to delete the unwanted account. Help will be appreciated!

  • Hi. Im receiving duplicates of all email (10x each).  If I erase them they come back.  Ive tried everything in Help.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

Hi, Im receiving duplicates of all email messages on my iMac (10.6.8) .  If I erase them they come back.  Today I have recieved 4716 duplicates.  Ive disabled all rules as Help suggested.  Does anyone know how to correct mail duplication?

Ignore this if you've tried it, but have you tried repairing the disk using the Recovery HD? Reboot holding Command + r > Disk Utility > Repair Disk. If anything gets altered click on repair disk again until you get a clean pass. Restart from the Apple menu.
Have you tried a Safe Boot? Restart holding down the shift key until you see the grey progress bar. Once booted restart as normal from the Apple menu.
It sounds like you've tried an SMC reset, but in case you didn't follow the exact procedure, here are the instructions. Sometimes attempting it 2 or 3 times can make a difference, according to a few posts on here that I've seen.
You could also try the PRAM reset that is listed as well. Good luck, but it might be a trip to the workshop for Apple to sort out.

  • Receiving duplicate emails from all last year!

I have been receiving duplicate emails from November 2011 all morning, and they were long since received and deleted.  The total will be 14,955, and after five hours, we're only up to June.  What's going on, and how can this happen?  I can't get my current emails until this is finished!

I'd like to get an answer for this as well.
A couple of days ago, I updated from os 10.4x to os 10.5x. Since then, there have been a handful of e-mails which have been plaguing my system. Roughly 10 times a day, the e-mail will show up as a new e-mail. When I use "mail2web.com" to double check that there are no messages on my server, it shows that they are no longer there. Still, every hour or two, these handful of messages show up again as if they are new, and this has been happening for 2 days now.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any suggestions. The suggestions already listed didn't work for me.
Thanks in advance! All input is appreciated.

  • Why am I getting duplicate e-mails?

When opening e-mails on my iPhone, I find that I frequently see duplicate e-mails. This is not the case when I check mail on my iMac. It primarily happens when I receive e-mails from companies, not the individuals in my address book. I know it is not due to sender error, since I just sent myself an e-mail from work, and it shows up twice. Anyone know a fix for this?

This very same problem began for me today.
I had not seen this happen, but today, every new mail item from the AOL account appears in duplicate.
None of my other mail accounts do that -- just AOL. I had Entourage check the same AOL acount and it only grabbed one copy of each message, so this seems to be an iPhone-AOL thing.
Beyond that, I haven't figured out the fix, but I wanted to let you know that there's at least two of us with duplicate messages.

  • Duplicate e-mails - I'm going nuts

I am setup via Exchange on BIS. We have Exchange 2007. It seems that when I reply to an e-mail from desktop Outlook, the original is sent to my phone. I don't get it. For example:
I received an e-mail Wednesday, November 11, 2009 1:43 PM and just replied. My Berry just went off and the original e-mail that I received hit the phone at 8:36pm under the Saturday 11/14 filter but when I open the e-mail, the time stamp shows Wednesday, November 11, 2009 1:43 PM. The only times this is happening is when I reply to an e-mail. What am I missing?

Here are a couple of similar threads on this subject.  It seems that this may be a problem with the Exchange IMAP and BIS (covered in the second link).  Unfortunately I haven't found an actual proper resolution, but hopefully the resolution in the second link will work in the meantime.
