Receiving emails hours later and duplicate

For the past week I am receiving my emails hours later and sometimes they will duplicate themselves. I have upgraded, backed up, completely dumped everything and still nothing has worked.  If I receive an email at 2PM it won't show up in my phone until 8PM.  Help!

How are you setup? Imap POP3
When did it start?
Have you resent service books?

    So, if a remote wipe occurred as the email stated, how did the person with the phone immediately go back to using the data on the phone.  Wouldn't the person have to register the Iphone through Itunes?  I got the email saying the erase was happening at 11:10.  Looking at my cellular data usage, the phone began using data about that time after about a 12 hour break. So it seems like Find my Iphone quickly picked up the phone.  But then the phone continued using data for about 3 more hours.  How could the person be using the phone if it had just been wiped?

    I understand that iCloud's erase function is totally distinct from Verizon's cellular service (i.e. the phone could be wiped and Verizon would never know).  It's been a while since I've activated an Iphone through Itunes, but when you activate the phone don't you have to register it?  If the iPhone was wiped at 11:10, how could it be using data at 11:15 and consistently for the next three hours.  How long does the Itunes registration process take?

    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    I can't send or receive emails on my iphone 5s and ipad air, I'm not very technical but have tried everything i know including resetting both products. I desperate for help as currently recovering from spinal surgery as left paralysed at mo, so both items are my lifeline outside of hospital and intense residential physio.....help!

  • My Sprint cellphone has not received emails since yesterday and I entered the correct settings incoming and outgoing from my Thunderbird email account, advise?

    I have not received emails on my Sprint Galaxy S3 since yesterday morning. I can send but not receive. I have matched my settings to the phone from my Thunderbird account. I thought I had everything synced. Sprint told me there may have been a change in server settings from Thunderbird but I never received any notification from Thunderbird. I am at a loss and not very good at this so any help will be appreciated.

    Thunderbird is not an email provider. It has no servers to have settings to be changed. It is email client software just like the one you have on your phone. You would need to get the correct server settings from your email provider and set your phone to use them correctly.
    Too bad that the "helpless desk" at Sprint is not smart enough to know that.
    Thunderbird software does not run on any mobile phones so troubleshooting your phone is outside the scope of this forum.
    One thought, is your email account set up as IMAP or POP?
    You really need an IMAP account if you are going to use multiple devices to check your email. If you use POP and have your computer set to remove the emails off the server then there are no messages left on the server of your email provider for the phone to download. IMAP email is server based and the messages are left on the server and remotely viewed by the remote devices.

  • Receiving emails day late

    In the last 4 days I no longer receive emails as they arrive. I now receive a batch of them around 3am and they are the prior day's emails. I don't receive any more until the following morning. Because of my business, it's very important that I receive them in real time. SMS and MMS are not affected. Can anyone give me a few suggestions on resolving this issue. Thanks all.

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    Assuming this is BIS-based email and not BES (you didn't say), then I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Resend Service Books
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.

  • 2.5 hours later and iphone is still backing up? trying to upgrade to 3.0

    Hello - I have tried 3 times today to install iPhone OS 3.0, this last time was the longest I gave the attempt and 2.5 hours later the backup process (before 3.0 is even installed) has been going for 2.5 hours and the status bar is only at 30% done...I have been having a problem backing up, but not with syncing, since iTunes 8.2...what is wrong here? How can I fix this?
    3.0 downloaded quickly, extracted quickly, but I cannot get past the initial back up before 3.0 can even be installed on my phone!

    I back up at least once a month but I have done some research and the things that typically slow that down are not the case for me (tons of apps, tons of photos...i have maybe 10 apps and 10 photos on my phone right now)...2.5 hours spent and only 30% of the way backed up is crazy though...

  • When receiving email, Thunderbird freezes and displays "Not Responding" in screen header. Adds popstate folder to account.

    I'm running Thunderbird 31.6.0 on Windows 8.1 with BitDefender 2013.
    PROBLEM:
    When getting email, Thunderbird freezes and displays "Not Responding" in screen header.
    When TB is closed then reopened, a popstate folder (popstate-1.dat) is added to account. A new popstate folder appears with each crash/freeze, and as long as they are not deleted, they pile up with unique numbers (popstate-1.dat, popstate-2.dat, etc.).

    NOTE: I've included troubleshooting details below for all the fixes I tried, thinking it might be helpful to anyone who has a similar problem and is thinking about going down those paths. Ultimately, it seems that FIX ATTEMPT 5 is the winner.

    FIX ATTEMPT 1:
    Following the suggestion in this archived mozilla support post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1026288, I restarted Thunderbird in Safe Mode (Help > Restart with Add-Ons disabled...), checking the "Disable all add-ons" and "Reset toolbars and controls" and clicking "Make Changes and Restart" button.
    In Add-Ons Manager, BitDefender Toolbar now appears to be disabled.
    (see attached screenshot)
    But the problem persists.
    FIX ATTEMPT 2:
    Following the suggestion in this archived mozilla support post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1016811, I clicked Help > Troubleshooting Information > Show Folder button. This opens a File Explorer window for 3I58b9dq.default (this is the "profile" folder) which contains panacea.dat and folderTree.json files.
    I changed file names to panacea-changed.dat and folderTree-changed.json (rather than deleting them, in case I need to restore them), and I reopened Thunderbird.
    This did not solve the problem -- and, furthermore, the profile folder seems to have automatically generated new panacea.dat and folderTree.json files to replace those for which I changed the filenames.
    FIX ATTEMPT 3:
    Following the suggestion in this mozilla support post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1044774, I restarted Windows 8.1 in safe mode with networking enabled (using these instructions: http://www.howtogeek.com/107511/how-to-boot-into-safe-mode-on-windows-8-the-easy-way/.)
    TB does not crash when Windows runs in safe mode, but the aspect ratio of my display is distorted; everything's really big and stretched horizontally, and my two displays are mirrored rather than extended. Running Windows perpetually in safe mode is not the ideal fix.
    QUESTION 1: I understand that troubleshooting is supposedly done best in safe mode — What might I do in safe mode to diagnose the Thunderbird problem?
    FIX ATTEMPT 4:
    This article https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues#Symptoms, suggests that problems with Thunderbird associated with BitDefender can be solved by uninstalling and re-installing BitDefender.
    Not really comfortable uninstalling and re-installing, I disabled Bitdefender (Settings button > Antivirus button > Shield tab > On-Access Scanning toggle Off) to see if that would work. It did not fix the problem.
    QUESTION 2: Would uninstalling BitDefender be any different than disabling it?
    FIX ATTEMPT 5:
    Create a Bitdefender Exclusion for the Thunderbird folder:
    Settings button > Antivirus button > Exclusions tab > Excluded files and folders link > Add button > navigate to Thunderbird folder (c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\thunderbird) > Both radio button > Add button > OK button
    THIS FIX DID THE TRICK! YAY!

    FIX ATTEMPT #5 above did the trick, and now I see that it was the chosen solution for a similar post of the same problem at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1044774

  • Receiving email on iMac and MacBook, but not iOS devices?

    Not sure why this is happening, but I'm not getting all emails on iPhones and iPads. I've had several emails addressed to my me.com address that show up on my iMac and MacBook, but never show up on our iPhones or iPads. This applies only to my me.com stuff. Even an iTunes marketing email doesn't show up on my iPhone.
    I just transitioned to iCould last week and that's when it started. All devices were converted to iCloud and the iMac and MacBook are set up as IMAP accounts.
    Any ideas?

    I finally figured this out. I use SpamSieve and when it's identifies something as Spam, it moves the email into a local folder and removes it from the cloud. The solution (in SpamSieve's documentation) was to create a new mailbox in iCloud and change the rule to move the messages there so that you can see any mis-identified on the iPhone.

    I just spend an hour trying to find a way to contact Verizon online. Calling them is a nightmare. I am ready to find another carrier!!!  My emails are not getting to me until HOURS after they are sent. I communicate with someone during the day via email and it is CRUCIAL that i get my emails in a timely fashion. I waited for a very important email from this person yesterday at 3:55pm. He did email me back at that time, but I didn't receive it until 9:20 pm!!! This is unacceptable! VERIZON...please help or you are going to lose this customer...and why oh why do you make it impossible to contact you!??!?!

  • I can send but not receive email using Mail and Comcast

    My incoming mail [Mac Mail 3.6(936) ] slowed and now has stopped. I get error message "mail.comcast.net" on port 995 timed out. I can send. I can receive at Comcast.net. I have tried changing the port setting to 101 and no SSL and 587 (the comcast online set up guide), etc. and sometimes it works once then fails again. I have deleted the p-list in the Mail Library and restarted and still nothing.
    I deleted the account and set it up again but still no luck. Oddly the Preferences says deleting the Accounts will delete everything but the Mailboxes are still there. Part of the problem?
    I do not have this issue using Thunderbird which is a program I do not like.
    I used Comcast's various online guides, a long useless chat and useless email to no avail. My Primary Account Holder email (which I never use) works but not my every day email account.

    Here is what I would try -
    Run the disk permissions utility....see if a repair works....
    On the mail menu, go to Window => Connection Doctor - do you see errors (red dot) If so, what does it say the error is caused by?
