Receiving emails when I want to

How do I set up my 8520 curve to only receive emails when I want it to? At the moment it is constantly going of all day telling me  emails have come in and I would just like to be able to open a inbox and then they all come in then..Like my PC
is this possible?
If not can I turn off the notification of emails received so it don't keep bothering me all day long ?

It is a push device.
Set your Sound profile to Phone calls only or all alert off.
Maybe a holster would be good too, I set it up so that most alerts only do a short vibe in holster.
This is what I do to sleep at night.

  • When I had my old blackberry connected to my computer, all incoming emails were routed to my outlook so I did not get mails on my blackberry.  How do I get it so my iphone4 does not receive emails when connected to my computer?

I am getting my iphone inbox bombarded so would like it to not receive emails when connected to my computer.  My old blackberry had an app that took care of this which worked really well.  Am wondering if I can do the same with my iphone4.

Blackberries were/are able to do that with some types of e-mail accounts because the mail is routed to an intermediary (BlackBerry Service).
There is no equivalent for the iPhone as the phone communicates directly with the mail servers and does not go through a 3rd party.

  • How do I receive emails when I am not on WiFi

I recently purchased a Galaxy Note 2.  I am unable to receive emails when I am not connected to Wifi.  I spent a couple hours on the phone with the tech from Verizon Help Desk and the gal I spoke with tried everything to help me and I still cannot get my emails on 2 different accounts unless I am connected to Wifi.  Please help!!!

One is my personal email  set up in the email app and the other is my business email set up on the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.  I have already tried removing and reentering which is not possible unless I am tethered to someone elses phone or I am on Wifi

I'm having problems with my email account. I receive emails when I'm in a wifi zone.  But if the wifi is turned off and i'm not in a zone I don't receive my emails through the cellular network.  Only when I power off the phone and turn it back on, do I receive the emails through the cellualr network (again with the wifi off)

In your email settings on the phone check to make sure it is set to receive emails on cellular network.  It's a feature you can turn off so your phone isn't constantly updating emails on the cell network, but if you are usually in a place with wifi and aren't concerned about going over your data allowance, you can turn it back on.

  • TS3899 Why cannot I receive emails when my iphone5 is on gprs.

Why cannot I receive emails when my iphone5 is on gprs.

thanks.  I was reading some of the other postings that I see on this page and got that impression.  Not sure what IMAP is but I'll keep reading and see if I can figure it out. I saw something that said a Mac.com email was IMAP so maybe I need to start using that instead of my Charter acct.  I know my work is an exchange account.  I have an Iphone, Mac and Ipad and need to start figuring out how all these work together and get more educated on this.  Thanks for your time.

  • Can't send or receive email when mobile

I am using two 3rd party email accounts as well as my verizon.net account with Outlook Express. Everything works fine as long as I am connected to my home server. Immediately I go on the road I can no longer send or receive emails using the 3rd party accounts in Outlook Express. And yes I have changed my out going server port to 587 in Outlook Express

What 3rd party email are you using?
Do they allow 587, or should you be using a different port?
hat error are you getting when you attempt to send?
What Internet Service Provider are you using when connecting away from home?

  • Galaxy S5 Can't send or receive email when not on wifi

Samsung Galaxy S5.  When I am not connected to my home (or other) wifi, I cannot send or receive email.  Email provider is Time Warner Cable (Roadrunner).  I don't recall this being a problem when I first bought this phone.

Thanks for any help you can provide. - Not sure of date that the issue started.  Phone purchased in March of this year, and worked fine for a while.- Default email app.- Not happening with any other email account.- Able to load web pages, send text messages, can even receive email; just can't send.- When I try to send an email message, it goes to the Outbox, and tries to send, but then I get an error message at the top of the screen with the words "Sending Failed" and the message subject.  If i go to the Outbox, the message is still there, but with the word "Failed" to the right of it in orange letters.

  • Only receiving email when connected to computer

I cannot receive any emails when I am not connected to the computer where the BB software has been installed. I'm a new user...so this might be a simple fix?

No, there are several places on the internet that can change the battery for you or buy a battery and do it yourself.
    A couple quick searches...
www.ipodjuice.com $45 to have them change the battery.
www.iresq.com $63 to have them change it.
I think both of those include shipping back and forth.
That seems like a lot of money for a 2nd gen Nano. You can buy a battery alone for about $10-20 and do it yourself. If you are not comfortable doing that, then probably a better option is to spend $99 and get a refurbished 3rd Generation Nano.
    Good luck,
    Patrick

  • Can't receive email when I'm in an LINUX network

    Hi
I'm not the best in Network questions.
Just working for a company at the moment who has a linux server. I can go on their network and get conected to their data server via ip adress with mac osx and even with parallels. I can also go on the internet with safari and skype is working as well.
the only problem is that mail can't receive emails and msn isn't working as well.
does anyone know which settings I have to change to get into that network.
and is mail able to use the microsoft exchange server from that company?
    thanks

I'm pretty sure their firewall is blocking the ports for POP3 and SMTP or they simply substituted the ports with others. Many companies with an own mail server block the ports and you're stating they have an Exchange server. So there's no way to get your mails unless they open the ports OR they tell you the substitute ports. As for your 2nd question: Yes, Mail is able to use it, just ask their admin for server name and login details. If there are problems the Exchange server may need to be configured to use the IMAP protocol.

  • Cannot send or receive emails when connected to roaming wifi

Recently I was traveling and stopped in a Starbucks for a coffee and to send some important emails from my MacBook Pro. I signed into the local AT&T WiFi but was unable to send or receive emails through my MobileMe accounts. I checked all the Airport and network settings and cannot figure out why it wouldn't work. Any ideas or solutions?

Yes. I also tried my Cox account with no success. It would seem to me that MobileMe or another internet based account like Yahoo or Gmail would work, but Cox would require changing the POP and SMTP settings. I would think MobileMe would just work given that it is an IMAP account.

  • When i make search in my old email, when i want to open some of them for a lot i cant. For some no problem. There are emails from the same folder in same dates.

I search in my email something. When want to open the content from the emails, for some i can but for other i cant.
Same type of emails, same date, same attachments.

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Website-Email-Marketing/EBlast.html
This one will create the form, database and send out the emails...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/Website-Email-Marketing/MailShoot.html
The alternative is to use a marketing service if your business can justify the cost. Their templates are tested in all the common email clients...
