Receiving iMessages on iPhone and iPad

All of my messages used to go to both my iPhone and iPad. Now new incoming iMessages are only going to my iPhone. If I originate an iMessage on my iPad the reply will only go to my iPad. If someone originates a IMessage to me it will only go to my iPhone. I can't figure out what's happening. It used to work fine.

The best I have on this at the moment is that the Messages App is still Beta.
Secondly there have been some changes to the way the iMessages parts are syncing.
This may be due to Apple making changes to the iMessages server and the resultant sync issue to do with that.
Of course in the change over, if my guess is right, some messages may have been lost.
Some of this seems to be altering the way Messages get Flagged as to whether they were delivered or not.

Is this on wifi or cellular data?
Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home/power button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Have you gone into the email settings and making sure the password are still there?

Imessage on iphone and ipad

Hi all,
I've got a question regarding imessage. I've used imessage on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 3 (wifi only) for a while. I received messages on both iPhone and iPad.
Since last week however, the imessage only goes to the iPad and not the iPhone. When I manually open the message center they are visible, but there is no notification of any sort (visual, sound).
I've tried logging out from apple id on imessage and ipad, but still have the problem.
The only thing that I can see that is different on both devices is that, when activating imessage again, on my iPad it said 'reveiving messages on phone number and email address' and iPhone it only said 'receiving on email adress'.
Looking at the settings, both devices are logged in via apple id.
the 'you are available' part both mentions my phone number and email address - however, on my iPhone, the phone number is grey. Both the email address and phone number on both devices are marked.
New conversations are, on both devices, started from my phone number.
So no difference in settings.
However, when someone sends me an imessage, the iPad plays a sound and displays the new message, while the iPhone stays silent. Very annoying since I only have my iPhone with me during the day and therefore missing messages.
Anyone any suggestions on solving this issue?

I want to sync my iMessage between my iPhone and iPad. How do I do this?
Also, is there a way I can sync all of the conversations made on the iPad to the iPhone, but not sync conversations made on the iPhone to the iPad? I sometime share my iPad with my family and don't want anyone reading my conversations when i am on my iphone. But I am the only one who uses iMessage on the iPad so I won't have a problem With the conversations on the iPad being sent to my iPhone.

Two things:
1st: In System Preferences, click on iCloud, uncheck Mail, if it's checked, wait about 30 seconds, and then re-checkit. That will redo your iCloud mail setting.
2nd: Look at your account setting in Mail's preferences, it should look like:

I can't send or receive emails on my iphone 5s and ipad air, I'm not very technical but have tried everything i know including resetting both products. I desperate for help as currently recovering from spinal surgery as left paralysed at mo, so both items are my lifeline outside of hospital and intense residential physio.....help!

Hi I seem to have a problem using imessage. If a new message lands (fro unknown reasons) on my ipad mini, it does not appear in my iphone.
How can I have messages appear in all devices?

Assuming you use the same iCloud account for all devices, check the following on each device:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached at > enable the phone number and email addresses you use..

Used to be able get iMessages with iPhone and iPad. Cannot register # or email.

I used to be able to get iMessages using either my phone number or email address besides the me.com one. Now I can't and it won't verify them. I am not even given the choice to add my phone number as on my wife's phone. It keeps telling me I have to register my phone number and email addresses.
Then when I attempt to I am told I need to put in a "code" sent to me on the iPad but have no clue where to look for that code. Nothing shows up in Messages or an email.
HELP!! My wife's iPhone 6, bought and set up the same time, works fine.
Using Yosemite and iOS X latest versions of each. Verizon service.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you are trying to use a phone nnumber and email address to use Messages. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

HELP!!!! iMessages on iOS6 is sending messages from my iPhone to both my iPad, my other iPhone and other friends iPhones! and receiving messages from friends on both iPhones and iPad.

On the iPhone and iPad you can "turn off" the Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Received At (and possibly) > Caller ID.
iOS 6 will delete the email/Apple ID across all devices (you get a warning) but presumably Messages is either left alone on the Mac or you add the ID back in again.
AS has been said you can then set up each device with it's own Apple ID

Check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on both your iPhone and your iPad to make sure that the following are all true:
(1) you have selected the same Apple ID on both devices,
(2) you have the same entries checked under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" on both devices,
(3) you have the same entry checked under "Start new conversations from:" on both devices,
and
(4) that the entry checked in #3 is one of those checked in #2 on both devices.
When you say it has affected your iCloud account, what effect has it had?

HT4528 Iphone will not send new calendar data but will receive it from PC and ipad.

Are the other phones that can't receive messages iPhones? If not, that could be the problem.

I looked into your question and believe I may have a solution for you.
Your iMessages likely aren't syncing because of a bug in iOS 5. Syncing iMessages between iOS devices is supposed to happen automatically, but sometimes it does not.
You could likely manually activate syncing by navigating to Setttings --> Messages --> Receive At --> Caller ID on both your iPad and iPhone and selecting your Apple ID.
