Receiving Mail Sent From Inside A Word Document

I have a work colleague who is using a Windows environment and sending me MS Word documents by emailing from inside the Word document. When the email arrives in Mail the Word document shows as an attachment with the name winmail.dat. I have not been able to find a way of opening the file in a readable format. I am running OS X 10.4.6 and using Mail. I also have Office for Mac 2004 installed and have tried using Word on the winmail.dat without success. Entourage does not seem to have a means of finding files stored elsewhere. Preview does not cope and nor does GraphicConverter which is what Finder chooses as the default application to open winmail.dat.
Can anyone suggest a solution?

Hello Colin.
This indicates the sender is using Windows Outlook as their email client which is the cause of this problem.
See Dealing with the winmail.dat file: the problem and the solutions.
You can try using TNEF's Enough.

One Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from .mac

OK, this is an odd problem, and any help would be appreciated.
My girlfriend's Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from my .mac address. If I send email from my Gmail or Yahoo! accounts she receives the message. No one else has informed me that they haven't received email from the .mac address. Additionally, the .mac account is in her address book.
Anyway, has anyone seen a similar pattern with Yahoo! or any other email provider?

Thanks for the reply . . . and yes, the recipient's email provider likely holds the answer.
However, I was hoping someone here might have had a similar experience and could answer as the email provider is Yahoo, and they are slow in responding to help requests . . . for a period I hosted a personal, paid website through Yahoo Domains and help tickets lingered for several days on multiple occasions (this being the reason the site is no longer hosted by Yahoo). I also doubt Yahoo will expend too much energy resolving a problem for a free email account.
Anyway, I posted in the Yahoo mail forums, and hopefully something will come-up . . . .

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. This person receiving my email, while on a Mac with Safari is reading their mail through Safari using Horde--our recent discovery. Why they chose to do that in unclear. The last email we sent, however, was miraculously read and received and the attachment was viewed with no problem after we told them our mail was coming from a Mac thriugh Apple Mail. It seems that telling them that our emails were coming from a Mac and using Apple Mail was enough to make them think that perhaps THEY were doing something not quite right. Thank you both, Level 7 and Level 5.

Force mails sent from webmail route thru smarthost

I have already set a global mailroutingsmarthost in the ldap server so
that recipient address not matched in the ldap will go to it for relaying.
But I would like to config the Messaging Server (ver. 6.3) such that
for all mails sent from the webmail interface, they will go thru this smarthost regardless of
their address form (i.e. even if the recipient address find matches in the ldap server)
How to do it?

Can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile

After much troubleshooting, I've found that I can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile users. I never noticed the issue until recently, but I can't pinpoint when the problem began: Leopard 10.5.2, Mail 3.2... not sure.
When a Windows Mobile user sends me an email, it just doesn't show up in my inbox. It does show up in a web client, my iPhone, and in Thunderbird, so I know the mail is being delivered to my mailbox on the server. However, there is no corresponding message located in ~/Library/Mail, so it looks like the message isn't being downloaded from the server. I have emails before and after the stubborn email message, so it hasn't interfered with anything else that I can tell.
Anyone else been able to pinpoint this issue and figure out a fix or workaround? Anyone have any ideas?

I am experiencing precisely the same issues. Messages from Windows Mobiles v.6 (more than just a single handset) are not being displayed in Mac Mail 3.2
I have tried rebuilding mailboxes and changing the IMAP port connecting with Exchange server. The mail is there as I can see it in Outlook, OWA, and OMA
Similar situation to you in that I have no idea when this started to happen, but it can only be in the last 3-4 weeks max.
Please, if anybody has a fix or workaround, or knows what changes have been made to Mac Mail in the last few weeks.

I would require few details in order to diagnose the issue correctly :-
1) Are you able to launch Acrobat XI pro ?
If yes, please try Help -> Repair option to repair Acrobat XI pro. Then try to perform the covert operation.
2) Let me know the Operating system installed on your computer.
3) Is there any error code or error message?

Mail sent from iPad not appearing on desktop (windows) pc

Have had to change my BT Yahoo email account to BT Mail so on the iPad deleted the BT yahoo account and then added the BT mail account. Problem is that mail sent from iPad no longer appears on the (windows) pc. What am I missing

If it is IMAP, then obviously something is wrong. I don't know if there is a problem on the computer setup. Are you sending the email from a web browser or from an email client? I don't think that should matter anyway unless you have incorrect settings in the email client.
Have you tried sending an email from your computer and see if it shows up as sent mail on the iPad? Have you considered deleting the account and then add it back yourself on the iPad?

How to duplex print from a MS Word document in HP 1020 Plus printer

Two days before I have acquired a HP 1020 Plus Laserjet printer . How to duplex print from a MS Word document and Corel Draw document in HP 1020 Plus printer? I tried manual duplex printing by printing the odd pages first and then even pages ....it came out correct ,...but whenit comes to Page numbers continuity it is not properly printed ....why?? Can anyone highlight on this and give me a step by step instructuion to print Duplex and thereby help me to create 20-----------page or 30 page booklets.....from MS word typed document or corel draw document......Expecting a speedy solution

The laserjet 1020 only has manual duplexing capabilities. Please refer to this document for a complete set of instructions.
Print on both sides of the paper (manual duplexing)

You need to click on Export PDF to convert from PDF to word document.

If you have PDF pack subscription you can avail all of the services like export PDF,create PDF & etc.
Otherwise you have to purchase every service individually.
