Receiving messages after turning on iMessage

Hello,
When you place an iPod touch on Airplane Mode and then deactivate Airplane Mode, any text messages that were sent to you during the time the device was on Airplane Mode is then received. Is that the same scenario when I de-activate iMessage for a short period of time then turn it back on? Will I receive any text messages that were sent to me during the time I had iMessage turned off? Also, another question I had...does the sender get an error or a "Not Delivered" status if they send me a text while my iMessage is turned off?
Thanks

Ok, thanks. So then I assume when I do re-activate iMessage, it then will not automatically send that message that the sender was attempting to send?

It's up to the cellular carrier, but I believe most (if not all) will enqueue the messages when your iPhone is off.
So generally speaking, a few minutes after you turn your iPhone on, your messages should display.  Similarly, your voicemails would arrive.

My imessage wont activate and work, and i dont receive messages from people useing imessage? how do i get imessage to work?

I recently moved back to Australia for school from Canada and signed up for the new iphone 6 plus. After using icloud to save and backup from my previous iphone 4s, all of the apps eventually worked....except for whatsapp. After looking through my phone and numerous chat forums, it appears that my imessage and facetime are stuck in, "waiting for activation".....is anyone else having problems with this?
I am curious as I am unable to receive the whatsapp code to re-activate my application. This brings me to my second question, is this an iphone/apple problem or a whatsapp third party problem?
I've had friends send imessages to me and they appear to coming through. I have already rebooted and restarted my phone numerous time. A strong connection to wifi and data stream have all come in loud and clear.
I have tried all of the directions that were posted and still have no whatsapp and imessage still inconsistent.

  • Mail stops receiving messages after a period of time

Every since installing Mavericks my Mail app stops receiving messages after a period of time. I know because I get the email on my phone, but I try to grab them in Mail and nothing. If I restart Mail then they come through.
I'm using Gmail as my email provider. Is anyone else suffering with this? Is there a work around?

Workaround or not, this is an annoyance, and that's a nice way of putting it. Coming from Mountain Lion, when Mail was working flawlessly, having to deal with this issue is just plain ridiculous. What happened to the Mail application? I don't understand how Apple could screw this up to badly.
Every time I restart or reset the connection to the servers, the Mail app is downloading thousands of messages (I can see the display on the bottom-left). I have no idea what it's doing or why, for that matter. If Apple doesn't fix this soon, I will seriously be forced to look for an alternative, which saddens me greatly. I really like Mail, but if it cannot reliably get my mail simply because I've left it open too long, or hidden it behind another window, I will stop using it.
What's worse is that I've had similar issues with other applications like iPhoto and iTunes. Whatever is happening to Mail is probably not just application-specific. It's probably OS-specific. I hope Apple is working on it and that we will see a major update to Mavericks soon. All I know is that, right now, I'm seriously regretting upgrading to Mavericks.

To get rid of "pop-up ads and other crap on my computer when I am on the internet", click on Safari in the Menu bar, and select Preferences. Next select Extensions. Delete all of them. Restart Safari.
The first step in addressing the black screen is an SMC reset.
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Consistently receive the following message after importing serveral songs from CD into iTunes (latest ver 11.1.5.5)...
"Error occurred while converting the file 'songname'.  The required folder cannot be found."
CD/DVD ROM is no longer recognized until computer is restarted.

I have the same problem.  I recently moved my music from a Vista PC to a new Laptop with an external CD drive. It will copy one song from the CD and it will show in the Music file and then I get the message ' Error importing a CD - Folder not found'.  I must unplug the CD drive and plug it back in.  I have seen no fix for this problem.

  • IPod doesn't receive  messages when turned off

I Own a 32gb 5th generation iPod. The version is  iOS 7.1.2   In the past month whenever I turn my iPod off it doesn't receive messages that have been sent to me. Sometimes when I turn it on I will get messages that weren't delivered that day, it will always be from exactly 6 days ago. I'm not really sure what could be causing it and I have not changed anything that would have caused it that I know of. The only way that this doesn't happen is if I leave my iPod on 24/7.

Are you powering the iPod off (Slide to Power off)?
Or are you letting the iPod sleep?
When powered off it can't receive anything.

PROBLEM SOLVED by Apple Support Chat
In order to get around this issue I had to put the phone into RECOVERY MODE, and connect it to iTunes.
Here is the support article that tells you how to put your iPhone into RECOVERY MODE. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Connecting to iTunes in RECOVERY MODE worked even though all my iPhone backups are in iCloud not in my iTunes.
It is NOT TRUE that you can't re-activate and recover your iPhone if your SIM is locked.
It is NOT TRUE that you have to unlock your SIM in another phone if you are trying to re-activate your iPhone with a locked SIM.
It is NOT TRUE that you need to get a new SIM from your carrier if you're trying to reactivate your iPhone with a locked SIM.
All you need is a computer running iTunes, your SIM PIN, your iCloud login and password, and you need to put your iPhone into RECOVERY MODE. (See link above or click here.)

  • IMessage for Mac not receiving messages after ios8 upgrade

I recently updated my iPhone 5 to iOS8, however, after doing this my Macbook Pro now does not receive iMessages and is unable to send them. Can anyone give me some help to get the iMessages on the mac working again? Thanks.

    Hey DenholOliver,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are not receiving iMessages on your MacBook Pro since updating your iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Let’s check to see that your phone number and Apple ID are setup correctly on both of the devices:

  • Access a received message after transformation

    Hi,
    in my BPM,
    i am receiving an Idoc
    transfor it
    make a BAPI Call.
    this works fine.
After this i want to transform the BAPI-response and
the original IDoc to a new message for the next BAPI-Call.
But i have no data in this original IDOC.
I created an transformationstep which has 2 source
Messages and 1 target messege. But the Data from the
    IDoc message is empty.
Could anybody give me a hint where to find the error?
    THX
    Benjamin

    Hi Benjamin,
take a look at this document
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/xi/xi-how-to-guides/how to monitor integration processes ccbpm.pdf
open the technical log for your BPM
and find out when your IDOC data gets deleted
    >>> transformationstep which has 2 source
Messages and 1 target messege. But the Data from the
    IDoc message is empty.
are you sure your mapping is correct?
try pasting the IDOC and BAPI-response
from sxmb_moni (right click - save as file)
and check if it gives the desired result
    BTW
this souldn't happen - normally idoc should have the data till the end of the process unless you delete it

  • IChat does not receive messages after a few hours

I always leave my computer on at night since I often get chats from overseas that I don't want to miss. Ever since I have started using iChat 5, these messages never arrive at my computer anymore. I am also using it in conjunction with AIM on the iPhone. Could that be causing the problems? Ususally the chats arrive on both iPhone and Mac.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
This can be a case of sorting out whether the computer Sleeps,
Whether it is receiving Off Line IMs,
and How your Forwarding was set up.
Use this page to Login to AIM
    https://settings.aim.com/
Once you do that it should return to this page but will have your Name on it.
At that point you can check the Off Line IM status.
If you computer sleeps then ichat may well start faster than the computer reconnects to your LAN - in which case iChat does not login again.
This may mean it is "Missing" IMs when technically iChat is Off line.
I have never set up forwarding but you might have to check device order priorities. If the Phone is Off does it default to the computer ?
Is it supposed to be gong to Both ?
On that Settings page they call it Mobile (rather than Forwarding).
Hope this give you some ideas about where to look.
