Receiving messages on broken phone?

My phone broke and was dead for about a week before I got my new one. I have the same number and I thought once I activated my new phone the messages would pop up like when you turn it back on after it has been dead. but it didnt and I know I got at least a hundered messages from a group message I'm a part of and my friends were yelling at me for not texting them back. Please help if you know how to get these messages.

Hi,
The iPhone and the Mac need to have the same Apple ID.
This then links the iPhone number to the Apple ID.
This in turn  means that iMessages sent to the iPhone are then also sent to any other device.
It may pay to restart the set up.
Make sure the Mac has the Apple ID in iMessages.
On the iPhone remove the Apple ID and then place in Airplane mode to break with the servers.
After a few minutes go back to the Settings > Messages.
Check the app is On for iMessages and the iPhone number is ticked (it is always greyed out).
Add the Apple ID to the settings.
(Enable Send as SMS and the MMS settings if your want to make sure the iPhone will send something if you are not on WiFi or suitable 3G coverage)
Now restart the App on the Mac.
It should now get pop ups saying what the iPhone is using.
You should accept these.
This will add the iPhone Number to the "Receive At" list and tick it as active and place it in the "Start Conversations From" drop down at the bottom.
I tend to have my Mac set to use the Apple ID as Send From and the iPhone as the Number.
However it really is up to you (if you are sending to iPhone contacts then it pays to use the iPhone number if they don't know your email)

  • Turn off I Message from broken phone

My wife broke her I phone, and replaced it with a Samsung.  However, when me and other I Phone users text her, she does not receive messages.  It appears that her broken phone was setup on I-message, and that is why she is not receiving them.  However, I don't know how to turn off I-Message on the broken phone.  All of the instructions I can find require you to do it on the phone, but the phone no longer works.  I also found where you can do it if she setup a profile, but she never did.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • HT4528 The new iOS6 allows you to send/receive messages from other phones linked to your iTunes account which is great for checking on my kids but I dont want them to be able to add my phone to their messages.  Is there a way to block from being added to

I updated to the iOS6, and it allows you to view and send messages with any phone on iOS6 and linked to your iTunes account.  You can unselect phones so they dont go out through the phone, but is there a way to block other phones from adding yours?  Example, I don't ind being able to see what my son is sending/receiving on his phone but I don't really want him to be abe to add my phone and see all my messages...

Simple process. If an iPhone go to the Apple Store and not Verizon
the phone from Verizon will be a refurbished device and not new unless under the 14 day worry free guarantee
    good luck

  • Why don't I receive messages on my phone from some contacts?

Since updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1.2 when some of my contacts send me messages it goes only to my iPad.  Even if I start the conversation on my phone!  Is this a OS problem or a problem with my carrier (Bell)? Why won't the messages go to both devices anymore?

I also have a contact that I can message from my phone but not from my iPad and the error message is that the contact is not registered with iMessage which is a load of elephant poo.

  • Email - POP3 account - how to keep/save the received messages on the phone after deleting on server

    Hello,
I'm new on this forum and I'd like to receive some help and indication with regards to one issue related to email POP3 account.
I'm using a BB Z10, and after setting all the email accounts I have seen that on the company email account, which is a POP 3, I can't keep the messages on device after deleting them on server (this is programmed to be once at 2 days).
Exists the possibility to check an option which allows saving the received messages on the device? As it is happening on other devices from other brands?
Looking forward to receive your advice and suggestions!
    Thanks!

    Sorry, no.
The Z10 utlizes ActiveSync technology which basically (for lack of a better term) "mirrors" the messages available on your server. You delete them from the server, they are deleted from the device.
You'd be best off on your server instead, to "file" or move those messages to another folder. This too might delete the messages on your device (since they no longer appear in the INbox, but at least they will not be completely deleted.

  • I have an iPhone 4S and my friend has two ipods with two Apple ID's.  Why can't he receive messages on "Message" on one and he uses a free text app on the other which receives messages from my phone just fine.

My friend has two ipods.  Two Apple ID's and on one ipod he has a free text app on it and only Message on the other.  He cannot receive a message from my iphone 4S on the one with Message, but receives it fine on the one with the free text app.
He can also receive a message from my iPad on the one with Message.
My question is how can he recieve a text from my iPhone to the ipod which has a different Apple ID than the other but does not have a free text app?
Also on the ipod he has the free text app he has not upgraded to ios7 and won't.

Are the use the correct email address for the contact? Those are listed in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive. When Messaging somene the iOS devices used the email address (or phone number if applicable) listed in the Contact app for that person.
Thus, it appears the you Contact apps only has that one email address listed for the person you are trying to Message.
If he can send you a Messages can you reply to it? If so save the sender to your Contact app.

  • HT3529 i am receiving messages intended for someone else and can also see their replies

    Hi
I am receiving messages on my phone intended for the wife, but i can also see her replies to the person
    how is this?

They are iMessages & this is happening because you both use the same Apple ID for iMessage, iCloud & FaceTime. One of you needs to get a separate Apple ID & use that for iMessage, FaceTime & iCloud. You can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes content, but for the rest you both need separate Apple ID's. You can create an Apple ID here:

  • My iPhone both sends and receives messages from 2 different phones. They are registered with the same iTunes account. What can I do to stop this?

My partner and I both have iPhone 5s and an iPad. We registered all three products with the same iTunes account as we download music and movies together. I have noticed when my partner sends me a message it also appears on my phone that I have sent it AND recieved it. The same goes for when I text him. I send the message to his phone and my phone also recieves it. Facetime does the same thing. Its very strange. Does any one know what I can do to stop this from happening?

To stop this, don't use the same Apple ID on both phones for iMessage and FaceTime.  (You can continue to use the same ID for iTunes; it doesn't need to be the same as the ID used for iMessage or FaceTime.)
On one of the phones, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID.  Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

It sounds like it still has her information on it, so it might be efficient to navigate to Settings, then General, then Reset, then Erase All Content and Settings. You can then set up the phone again, using your information. This way the phone will be yours, officially, and her data and information will be removed.

I figured that was the case, but I've used the same passcode for years and I can't seem to figure out how I managed to screw it up when I set up my phone. Without being able to access my phone for a restore, how would I accomplish this? iTunes? Thank you very much for you help!
