Receiving Multiple Copies of e-mail on my Blackberry

I have had this problem since I started receiving e-mail on my Blackberry.  I have spent hours on the phone with Bell Tech Support and tech support for our hosted outlook exchange service.  Both keep pointing the finger at each other and have not been able to come up with a solution.  I use BIS to receive e-mail on my Blackberry.
Here's what's happening.
When an e-mail is received at the exchange server a copy is sent to the Blackberry.  When I open or reply to the e-mail from my desktop using outlook or if I access the e-mail via the web a duplicate copy of the original e-mail (not a reply copy) is sent to my Blackberry as if I am receiving the e-mail on my Blackberry for the first time.  This happens every time an e-mail is opened or replied to from my desktop machine or via the web.
Bell suggested there might be corruption of my mail account on the server and wanted them to delete and recreate my mailbox.  Instead I created a new test mailbox on exchange and added it to my Blackberry. The same thing happens with the new test account so it has nothing to do with corruption of my original e-mail account.
I've deleted the e-mail account in BIS and recreated it a number of times with no different results.  I've deleted and downloaded the service books a few times.  Nothing seems to work and I have both providers pointing the finger at each other while I drown in duplicate e-mails.  There are NO forwarding rules in place for the e-mail account or automatic cc'ing or bcc'ing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The workaround is as follows:
1. log in to BIS
2. set up a new account
3. enter email ONLY - do not enter the password; hit next
4. choose "I will provide the settings to add this email account."; hit next
5. choose "This is my work email account."; hit next
6. Yea! Now you can choose "I can access my email account using a Web browser (Outlook® Web Access)" and hit next
7. Fill in the web access url (remember the https if it's secure), user name etc.; hit next

  • Receiving multiple copies of text messages

i have an iPhone 6 plus and have been receiving multiple copies of the same text message (up to 4x) from various contacts across various carriers. This has been an issue throughout having an iPhone 5s and 6 plus, and only occurs with regular messages, not iMessage. It also does not occur for automated text messages sent to me (e.g. Redbox). While I have unlimited messages it is frustrating because they are sent to me multiple times, and not necessarily in the same order each time. It is also inconsistent. I might get a single copy of one text and four of another. I have reset the phone, changed phones, and every other thing possible. This seems to be an issue not on my end. Assistance would be much appreciate.  Thanks.

Great information Kashume42! Let's make sure that your messaging application is not the culprit. Please download and install Verizon Messages http://bit.ly/1mTrHaQ from the App store. Make it your default messaging application and test. Keep us posted.

  • The past few days my Mail app has started downloading multiple copies of e-mails from all pop servers.  This is only happening on my Macbook not other macs.  Deleting mail from server does not help. I ran ClamXav found 2 viruses deleted problem continues

opps.  Long title there... The past few days my Mail app has started downloading multiple copies of e-mails from all pop servers.  This is only happening on my Macbook not other macs.  Deleting mail from server does not help. I ran ClamXav found 2 viruses deleted those.  Checked for software update and installed suggested downloads.  Problem still contintues.  Any suggestions?

    Folks,
even after having repaired the inbox folder under "properties" a few times, I still had some e-mails where the contents are different from the subject line.
In other words in the inbox there are two e-mails: one with subject line "abc", and another one with subject line "def".
When I display the e-mail with the subject line "abc", the contents are from the e-mail with the subject line "def" in the in-basket.
What else can be done to correct this problem?
    Thanks and best regards.

  • I receive multiple copies of all the messages from my inbox

    e-mail SP: exmail.qq.com
each time I check my mail with thunderbird (POP3) all the mails in the server inbox are downloaded again.
I have tried all the suggestionn from the form (deleting the index, deleting the date file, un-checking leav on server box).
my colleagues who use outlook have a checkbox to solve the problem ("do not download multuple copies of one mail). I don't see the equivalent in TB.

Your 'popstate.dat' file keeps a record of what it has downloaded, so that when it connects with the server and looks in the server Inbox, it should not download anything that was previously downloaded.
In your case, you have kept old previously downloaded mail in the server Inbox and the confused popstate.dat is seeing them as needing to be downloaded.
This means that the 'popstate, dat' file must be corrupted - gone awol - because it keeps downloading previously downloaded emails.
You need to access your Profile Folders and delete the 'popstate.dat' file.
    Profile Folders are hidden folders.
make hidden files and folders visible:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    access Profile Folder:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird
    In thunderbird:
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    click on 'Show Folder'
a new window opens showing your Profile Folder.
'''Close Thunderbird now''' - this is important
    Click on 'Mail' folder
    click on 'mail account name'
look for 'popstate.dat' file and delete it.
    close the window.
    Open Thunderbird.
    What will this do?
When Thunderbird restarts, it will create a new 'popstate.dat' file. The downside is this. As it has no knowledge of what has been downloaded, it will download everything that is on the server Inbox, but only once.
The good thing is this. This should fix the popstate.dat file and prevent further downloads of previously downloaded mail.
You will then need to delete any duplicates that were previously downloaded. There is an addon that you could use to help with duplicates.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/remove-duplicate-messages/
see image for where popstate.dat file is located.

  • User in multiple groups gets multiple copies of one mail

I have a user who is the manager in a department with multiple groups in it.  There is an email group in eudora set up for each administrative group (logical), and the manager's user is in each of those groups (also logical).  Frequently it will be logical to send an email to 2, 3 or 4 of those groups, and then (just as you would expect) she gets 2, 3, 4 copies of the email in her inbox.  Which falls into the "just what we asked for but not what we want" category...
Does anyone know how to get mac mail or eudora to do "de-duplicating" ?  Or are we just stuck with this?

    Hi..
Ok, so forget group mapping from AD. What you have here are two seperate network services that require individual provisioning... what I call "Service Differentiated Provisioning"
This is where Shared RADIUS Authorisation Profiles come in (I know because I deisgned them :)
Create a NAF for each device - simplest by using their IP addresses.
Next create two shared RACs - one for each service (mobile & home). Inside use RADIUS attributes to assign the ip pool depending on your RADIUS vendor (Cisco?)
    eg cisco-av-pair = ip:addr-pool=poolA
Next create the two NAPs - one for mobile access and the other for home access by selecting the appropriate NAF to activate on. Select the authentication types (MSCHAP) and databased (Windows)
Next, edit the Authorisation part of each NAP. Uncheck the tick boxes "Include attributes from user & group records" - this will merge attributes from group, RAC and user... gets MESSY. Anyway you should see a default rule displayed "If a condition is not defined...." - in the Shared RAC dropdown select the RAC that is appropriate for the NAP (ie mobile or home). Then submit.
At this point to avoid clashes... remove any ip allocation settings in the ACS groups A & B.
You should now be able to authenticate users on each network service. They will still map to an ACS group (as before). However the ip pool allocation will now come from the relavent RAC instead of a group.
It may look complicated (um, guess it is) and the NAP pages are not very friendly, but if you work through these steps it should work a treat.
If you run CSRadius -z -p from the command line you'll see all the extra helpful debug I put in :)
Now all you need to do is download the trial of extraxi aaa-reports! (www.extraxi.com) so that you can generate reports to audit the fruits of your labours!
    Good luck

  • Mail Delivery Subsystem sends multiple copies of returned mail

Since installing Leopard, I've sent several messages (usually with attachments) that are undeliverable to the recipient. Problem is, I get dozens of copies of the same "Returned mail: see transcript for details" message, last time about 80, each with multiple MB attachments, and the net effect is to slow Mail down quite a bit. Very annoying. This has only happened to one specific recipient who is with sbcglobal.net, but I'm not sure if its their problem, or mine.
Any thoughts? Obviously, I've stopped sending messages to that particular address, but it may occur again.

Thanks very much for posting this. I was having slightly different issues than the people above - only one of my two POP accounts was being constantly picked up, and I had hundreds of versions of each email... strangely, even after I went to the (Yahoo) account and deleted all the emails out of there. Your solution worked perfectly.
    Thanks again!

  • Multiple copies of e-mails in the wrong family account.

I have a family account for MobileMe set up with only two accounts, one for my wife and one for me.
MobileMe syncs 3 computers (iBook, new MacBook and a 24" iMac all running OS X 10.5.6) and an iPhone 2.5G and an iPod touch.
When an e-mail is sent to my wife, it appears 3 times in my InBox and not at all in her InBox. Messgaes sent to me only appear once, correctly, in my InBox.
Has anyone any ideas about what could be causing this? For instance, does having 3 computers have some bearing on it?
    John

A further thought is that multiple e-mails in the wrong InBox only occurs when the sender has a mac.com or me.com account. I have noticed that "outside" e-mails addressed to my wife go into her InBox correctly.
But this may not be true of all e-mails.
Also, after making some changes to my Mail prefs, I am now only getting 2 e-mails in the wrong box!
Note: I was reducing the choices for incoming mail servers. No smpt.mac.com. Only smpt.me.com.

  • Why are multiple copies of outgoing mail saved in drafts folder?

It looks as if these are being auto-saved every 5 minutes. How do I fix this?

If it takes you longer than 5 minutes to compose a message, you will get more than one copy saved to Drafts. You can change the time interval in Options > Composition or uncheck "Auto Save every X minutes".

  • Multiple copies of same emails

    Hey,
My problem started few days ago, I received multiple copies of same emails (about 5 copies/email). Now I tried to delete those copies using the plugin (Remove multiple messages) but it doesn't seem to delete. Still shows same amount of emails (about 35000), about 28000 needs to be deleted, in my inbox folder.
So when I try to get new emails, it says hard-drive is full etc... it isn't full. Webmail works great, but only have the latest 7days emails.
I'm using POP. please help to fix this fast.

Were you able to resolve this problem? I have the same issue, but on a macbook pro.

  • Mail is putting multiple copies of sent emails in my drafts folder, or in trash.

Mail is putting copies of emails successfully sent in my drafts folder, sometimes multiple copies, sometimes in trash.
Also, new email keeps entering my inbox after I've moved it to other mailboxes or to the trash or junk mail. Also, if I search for a name to which I have sent or from which I have received an email, the results shows a copy of each mail in all these mailboxes: Important, All Mail, Sent Mail, Sent G-Mail. This is a recent phenomenon. For every sent email I get 5 copies in my trash box.

I phoned up Appe Support yesterday and i discovered that SOME (not all) of my trouble was caused by my 2 Gmail accounts, which werent correctly designated as Gmail Server WITH the correct password, it was set to use the server from one of my other accounts.
I do still have another problem which doesnt go away, i open Mail normally and there is ghost Open Window, which cannot be opened, to view my Mail i have to open a NEW viewer window, even though there is a Window open all ready, the Ghost window !

  • Mail 3.6 downloads multiple copies of emails from my pop account

Since I auto-upgraded to Mail 3.6, Mail is downloading multiple copies of email from my pop mail account. This did not happen before and I haven't changed any of the mail settings. I have read discussions about a similar problem with an earlier version of Mail and the solution seemed to be deleting some file linked to Mail so it could be rebuilt, but I can't find such a file on my system that I could try deleting.
It may matter that I am not 'strictly' supposed to be using os x 10.5.8 on my powerbook G4 (according to what is said on the packet).
    Help please!

  • Why does mail program show multiple copies of a message, in various stages of completion in the trash folder ?

I am using an iMac with OS 10.9.4, Mail 7.3. My mail trash file contains multiple copies of partially complete messages I've sent. This problem seemed to begin when I began using "Maverick".

I have this exact same problem.
32 copies of one email. 3 o4 copies of others…
Rebuilding the trash makes no difference at all.
Any other suggestions? I have rebuilt my other mailboxes as well.

  • Multiple copies of email appearing in Apple Mail

Suddenly I am starting to see multiple copies of an email in me Apple mail client.
This seems to have started when I did the software upgrade earlier today - although I have no idea if this is a coincidence, or part of the problem.
fyi I am using Apple mail with a Google App mail account. This has worked perfectly for a number of years until today. When I look in my gmail account using the web client there is only one copy of the email.
    Any ideas?

In general iTunes is slightly more liberal when it comes to spelling than the iPod. As the iPod enumerates the tracks it will see each different spelling as a new artist so it may list one album multiple times. The iPod also takes no account of the Album Artist field so tracks with guest artists may also be viewed as separate albums. Disk No. & No. of disks may also affect the order in which tracks are enumerated or grouped. For a given album the following terms should all have exactly the same values. Album Title, Artist (except for Compilations), No. of Tracks, No. of Discs. & Part of a Compilation. The Sort Artist & Sort Album fields take precedence over Artist & Album and, if used, should either have the same values for all tracks, or match with the existing values for Artist & Album on other tracks.
Normally selecting all the tracks from the album and overtyping the Album, Artist & Album Artist info. is enough to fix this issue, although once I had some weird extended character that refused to be replaced in certain tracks. In this case the answer was simply to add some random info. into each field, e.g. add X onto each value, apply the changes, then remove the excess text & reapply.

  • Mail for Exchange (MfE): multiple copies of distr...

    Nokia E71
    MfE v3.00.050
    MS Hosted Exchange 2010
Please refer to configuration data mentioned above. I'm seeking help for the following, quite bizarre problem...
When my secretary sends a distribution list email on which I'm included, I receive numerous copies of that email on my E71.
Even worse: it's impossble to delete those copies from my E71. The only way out is to completely remove the MfE-account on my E71, make a new one and re-synchronize.
This only happens on my E71, not on the Inbox (Outlook 2007) on my PC, nor on Outlook Web App (OWA). There I correctly receive just one copy of the message concerned.
Apart from that: this ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY seems to happen with distribution list e-mails sent by my secretary...?! AFAIA all other distribution list e-mails reach my E71 appropriately: i.e. single copy.
    > Help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

EAS is Exchange ActiveSync, so it's definitely MfE alright. Try reinstalling it.
Edit- Actually if you've installed a new version, that would've done the same job, so my advice is no use.
