Receiving numerous copies of emails sent from gmail account

I have my Blackberry 8830 set up to receive emails from my personal gmail account.  When an email is sent on my MacBook from our gmail account to another person, I will receive numerous copies of that email -- partial messages as it is being typed, sometimes if it is a lengthy email I will get 30-40 partial copies of the message as it is being typed.  This only happens when messages are sent on our MacBook.  Any suggestions?

It sounds as if when gmail is performing the periodic auto-save that it is treating like a sent email from your Mac to the gmail server.  As each time the gmail server gets the "partial" it is being treated as "new".  Bizarre.  First time I have heard of this type of problem.  Check to see if you can either turn off or change gmails auto-save intrrval and see what that does.  Macs....what can you say?  LOL

I believe those are just the headers from the email notice from Verizon.  I am not sure if the rest of the email, or at least its headers are returned.
Obviously the normal changes apply.  Check your machine for viruses, change your password, etc.
Of course if someone likes pretending they are you, nothing in the current protocols will stop them.  In that case try changing your email name, but then you need to notify everyone you want to hear from about the change.

  • Email sent from wrong account

I have set up my 2 email accounts on new iPad. When I send from default account, recipient sees mail as from second account even when I've made that inactive.. How can I prevent this?

If you have set the mail account you wish to use to send emails, then there is a bug. You may try deleting both mail accounts and then logging in again. Otherwise deleting the email account you do not wish to send mail from will force emails to be sent from the other account

  • Different email sent from

My company only gives me POP server settings. It asks me use my ISP or third party out going server to sent email. I setup the email SENT from Gmail but SHOWS my company's email address on Gmail web mail. Can I setup the same thing on iPhone? How?
Hope I made it clear. I want to send Email from my iPhone through Gmail "[email protected]", but recipient will see it is from my company's mail address "[email protected]". Of course it also shows "sent through gmail", but that's not a problem for my case.
Thank you so very much in advance!

Rather than using authenticated accounts, have you considered whitelisting the source IP address to allow unauthenticated traffic from those devices? (I'd recommend ensuring you have Outbound port 25 restricted to those particular devices on your
firewall before going this direction.)  You can configure an Inbound Connector in EOP to accept mail from specific IP addresses without requiring TLS/authentication.

  • One Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from .mac

OK, this is an odd problem, and any help would be appreciated.
My girlfriend's Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from my .mac address. If I send email from my Gmail or Yahoo! accounts she receives the message. No one else has informed me that they haven't received email from the .mac address. Additionally, the .mac account is in her address book.
Anyway, has anyone seen a similar pattern with Yahoo! or any other email provider?
    Thanks.
    - Jennings

Thanks for the reply . . . and yes, the recipient's email provider likely holds the answer.
However, I was hoping someone here might have had a similar experience and could answer as the email provider is Yahoo, and they are slow in responding to help requests . . . for a period I hosted a personal, paid website through Yahoo Domains and help tickets lingered for several days on multiple occasions (this being the reason the site is no longer hosted by Yahoo). I also doubt Yahoo will expend too much energy resolving a problem for a free email account.
Anyway, I posted in the Yahoo mail forums, and hopefully something will come-up . . . .

  • Emails sent from Thunderbird are not getting received when signature attached

Emails sent from Thunderbird aren't being received by my yahoo and gmail accounts when I have the signature attached.
It's a business email account, and I really need to have a professional signature.
    Thank you
    Susan

There is a reason we suggest only composing HTML signature in the composer and saving the file. However, could you email me to see what that signature actually looks like (It might bounce we will see how google likes it.) this forum really messes up HTML source

  • TS3276 An email sent from my iMac has a button linked to a clip hosted on Vimeo. When received, the link functions on iMac and iPad, but opens a window of app icons on iPhone and iPod touch. Any ideas what's wrong?

For anyone else reading this thread, it is worth knowing that sometimes an email is, or can be, corrupted thereby jamming the works. The solution above is good, but I just wanted to suggest another one.
If the problem arises, go to an online mail access service, such as Mail2Web.com and login to you mail account there and delete the offending message.
    Problem solved.
And George, as this is all entirely voluntary, whinging about no takers may not endear people to you. Besides which, a few minutes of searching on Google would have found you a number of solutions.

  • Email sent from iPad main account arrives from gmail address

Email sent from iPad main account arrives from gmail address

I have solved this. The main account SMTP setting was wrong so it was using the next outgoing mail server available which was Gmail. Disabling Gmail as an alternative highlighted that the main one was wrong. I fixed the main SMPTP outgoing server address and all now working. Hope this helps.

  • Can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile

After much troubleshooting, I've found that I can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile users. I never noticed the issue until recently, but I can't pinpoint when the problem began: Leopard 10.5.2, Mail 3.2... not sure.
When a Windows Mobile user sends me an email, it just doesn't show up in my inbox. It does show up in a web client, my iPhone, and in Thunderbird, so I know the mail is being delivered to my mailbox on the server. However, there is no corresponding message located in ~/Library/Mail, so it looks like the message isn't being downloaded from the server. I have emails before and after the stubborn email message, so it hasn't interfered with anything else that I can tell.
Anyone else been able to pinpoint this issue and figure out a fix or workaround? Anyone have any ideas?

I am experiencing precisely the same issues. Messages from Windows Mobiles v.6 (more than just a single handset) are not being displayed in Mac Mail 3.2
I have tried rebuilding mailboxes and changing the IMAP port connecting with Exchange server. The mail is there as I can see it in Outlook, OWA, and OMA
Similar situation to you in that I have no idea when this started to happen, but it can only be in the last 3-4 weeks max.
Please, if anybody has a fix or workaround, or knows what changes have been made to Mac Mail in the last few weeks.
    Thanks in advance.

  • I have several email account setup on iphone.  for one of them can receive from/to emails from phone, but emails sent from computer not received on phone.  phone shows receiving but does not come thru

I have iphone 4s with several email accounts set up.  For one of these accounts, and only one, test emails sent from phone come thru fine.  But computer generated mail doesn't come to phone.  For test messages phone shows "receiving" but nothing comes to inbox.  External sent mail does not  come to phone inbox, but does to outlook on computer.  Have checked settings and these seem correct.  What's up?  Four other accounts work fine.

If you can send e-mail when on WiFi from home, but not when on 3G, that indicates your email provider is blocking e-mail being sent from outside their network. This is done to control Spam. ISPs who do this will usually have a separate SMTP server that should be used when using a mobile device. Check with them again.

  • Unable to create new email from Gmail account in Mail

I just installed gmail to retrieve messages within Mail: I can receive gmail messages and reply to gmail from Mail. However, I cannot create and send a new message in Mail using my gmail account; when I do I get the following error message:
    Enter Password for Account
    smtp.gmail.com:xxxx[account name]
The SMTP server "smtp.gmail.com" rejected the password for user "xxx[account name]"
Please re-enter your password, or cancel.
No matter how many times I add it correctly and click OK, the same message returns.

Google provides instructions for setting up a Gmail
    account in Mail here:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13
    275
Make sure you’ve set up the account as described
    there.
That is what I used to set up my gmail account in Apples Mail App before your post. Those instructions say that when you click on the Advanced Tab that the port will switch to 995 - which it did for me. I do have a minor problem though. Is there any way to prevent emails sent from Mail via gmail from showing up in gmails web page? I don't really like web mail whatsoever!

  • IOS Mail App receives duplicates from gmail account

Everytime I receive an email using my gmail account, it comes in duplicate. Same time stamp. Both copies are in my inbox. It should have 1 copy in my inbox and 1 copy (the same copy) in my Google in box in my mail app. This happens on the macbook, on the iphone and on the ipad. So that if I delete the copy in my inbox you would expect the on in the Google inbox to delete as well, it does, but then there is still one more in my Inbox. Today I made a reservation with Supershuttle and used my gmail email addresss. I got to copies of the confirmation on each device. How do I eliminate the duplicate emails. I went through the google community and they say it is an Apple issue, not a google issue. So who to believe!

Remove the gmail account from one of the devices, and add it back. Does that issue go away on that device?

  • Emails sent from mi BB not refreshing in MSOutlook

    Hi, i have this enviroment:
    - MS Outlook 2010
    - BB Curve 8520, v5.0.0.592 (Platform 5.2.0.64), kernel v3.8.5.85
    - Gmail account
    - Provider: Movistar
    I have this configuration:
    - Gmail account: POP enabled, IMAP enabled.
    - MS Outlook: gmail configure as POP, emails kept in server & delete items deleted in outlook from gmail at sync.
    - BB Curve: only use gmail account. Configured by Movistar (i think it uses IMAP), auto sent a copy of the message (in email configuration), has no address saved.
    - Last version of BBDesktop for sync all data of the organizer between MSOutlook, and BBCurve (contacts, calendar, tasks & notes).
    - My primary app is MSOutlook, then BBCurve, then Gmail.
I need, as my hard disk fail to reinstall. So i translate all to my notebook. PST included. Install BBDesktop in notebook, etc.
    Everything is all right (...but):
In my PC i have this:
    - Emails sent and receive in Gmail, are sync with Outlook (with a single rule, all emails that i receive from gmail sent by me are moved to Sent Items Foldes in Outlook).
    - Emails sent from BB, are sync to Gmail and Outlook.
    - Emais sent from Outlook, are sync to Gmail, BB, with the side effect that Outlook gets emails duplicated (that is something to that i get used to, so, there is no problem with it).
Since i move all to my notebook, i can do almost everything, almost:
    - The problem is that Emails sent from BB, are sync to Gmail, but not to Outlook!
    - I have seen a lot of time all configurations, and all appear to be the same as always.
Solutions & Problem to be solved:
    - I try make BB sending me a copy of all outgoing message, automatically, and this seems to work, but now, i get the duplicated email in Gmail.
    - As my primary app is still Outlook, i cannot handle the duplicated email to be erased (manually), or i have to connect to Gmail to mantain it clean.
Any idea about the best way to configure Outlook/Blackberry/Gmail to achieve my goals?
    Thanks for any idea!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Not all services are able to sync Sent Items via BIS. Not knowing who hosts your business account, we can't tell you if it should work or not. Here's a matrix that discusses the reconciliation features of various email providers.
