Receiving Photos in Email

A friend was trying to send a photo from her cell to my new iPhone without success. She tried several times & nothing was received.
Is there anyway to do this?
I also see that only send photos on the iPhone to an email address but not to a cell phone. Why is that?
Thanks

No one knows for sure, but I would hope that it could be done in hardware. You're right, it is a pretty basic feature that you would expect to see on such a graphically rich phone.
Leave iPhone feedback to Apple. If they get enough requests maybe they will put it at the top of the list.

  • I received photos via email. When I download each and move to iPhoto, it imports several copies of it.  If I do another then it imports several again including ones from before???

I am downloading photos from emails and then pulling them into iPhoto. Each time, it copies the photo several times or imports duplicates.  I have checked the box that says do not import duplicates but it does it anyway..?????

No one here works for Apple. This is a user-to-user technical support forum. Everyone here is a volunteer. You tend to get from this forum what you bring to it. If you come in ranting and raving and saying you're going to throw your iPhone out the window and that Apple is mean, people are not likely to respond to you with sweetness and light and puppies and kittens.
If you really want help, I'd suggest you take a deep breath and then start a new thread in which you explain the problems you're having, the steps you've taken to resolve the problems, any error messages you've gotten. Stick to the facts. Check the attitude and emotion at the door. People will do their best to help you.
    Best of luck.

  • Iphone 5s not receiving photos in email

I want to save a photo from my computer to my iphone. With my iphone 4 I could email it to myself on my computer and then open it on my phone and save it to my camera roll. Now it says it cannot download attachment even tho the file size is small. Any ideas?

Reset the network settings and it works now.

  • Just upgraded to Snow leopard; can't receive photo attach's in email

We just upgraded to snow leopard and now can't receive photos in email attachments. All that pops up is a bunch of alpha-numeric characters in some emails and the little blue boxes with the inserted question marks in others. Also seem to note that replies are not denoted or marked/flagged as they were in the previous version, though this is not as big a deal as the said replies seem to make it to their intended destination. Mail version is 4.5 (1084). Please advise

Another note, Ernie... I said that I emailed a pic from the imac (which is where I'm having the problems... snow leopard?) to my ipad and no problem, the pic shows up fine; but if I then forward that email BACK to the imac, then no-go... no pic just the following, and I'm shortening it for simplicity's sake:

  • Sending photos via email but not receiving

I have been sending photos from my Iphone 5 to email addresses and it goes whoosh but I am not receiving?

The email is getting to the user but the embedded photos come up as red crosses but they are not attached separate. They have worked on the odd occasion but not recently

  • Problem sending photos by Email.  Received a response from T. Devlin.  Did not solve problem.  I had already done what he suggested.

I had already entered my Email info under preferences.
The screen comes up with the photos I want to send.
I type my message and hit Send.  The blue bar appears "Sending".
However,  don't know where the photos go, they don't reach destination.
I tried sending to myself at another Email address - they didn't arrive, and they are not shown under Sent Emails either.
    How to resolve?
Tried to respond to T. Devlin - but that didn't happen either.  Just a Like symbol was there (as in Facebook).

Problem sending photos via email since I recently updated to iLife 11.
Which MacOS X version are you using and which iPhoto version?
If you are using Yosemite and have enabled up two-step verification for iCloud?  Then you may need to create an application specific password for iPhoto.  See this discussion:  Re: Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)Re: Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)Re: Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)  Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)

  • Every time I send a photo via email, I have to type in my password.  I'd like to disable that.

I can't seem to send a photo via email without having to type in my password.  Can I disable that?

    Hello, olyhank.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that will walk you through some troubleshooting steps for this issue.  Start with the attached section in the article below.
Tip: If you see a sheet or dialog that states 'Enter the password for user "email address'", this indicates that the email service provider is having an issue with the password being sent by Mail, or there is an issue with the email account. Contact the email service provider for support. ChooseWindow > Connection Doctor click "Show Detail" then click "Check Again". The information displayed in the "Show Detail" drawer may include details from the email service provider about what the issue is. Look for headers that start with "[ALERT]".

  • HT4623 I have an iPad but can't download movie clips when received in either email or iPhoto. What do I have to do?

I have a new Ipad but cant download movie clips when received on eihter email or from Iphoto.  My friend sent me a small holiday movie clip taken on Iphoto but I cant download it.  What do I have to do?

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, as your tagline says that you have iOS 4 then you can only update via your computer's iTunes, as described half-way down the page that you posted from.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes and selecting 'Backup' (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC)
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button
    Updating to iOS 5+ : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
You can only update a device to the highest iOS version that it supports, which for a first gen iPad is is iOS 5.1.1, and for other iPads is iOS 6.1.3

  • Sudden Problem Sending Photos by Email

    Hi,
After being able to successfully send photos from my iPhone by email ever since I got it, I suddenly have a problem. The recipient does not receive the photo - only a small blue box with a question mark in it. The copy of the email in my Sent folder looks the same.
I've tried a reset and, for info, I use BT Yahoo for email.
Have hunted high and low for reference to this and only found one post but there was no real explanation or resolution.
Any help or advice gratefully received. Cheers!

  • TS2755 I have an iPhone 5 and am experiencing problems with receiving photos in iMessage from other iPhone users.  I have been to the Apple store and the genius could not find anything wrong with my set up.  suggestions anyone?

My iphone 5 is receiving photos from other iphones as text, not imessage...the genius at the apple store did not find any problems.  suggestions anyone?

    - On her iPod go to Settings>iCloud  and turn off contacts and other things if you want.
    - On the iPod go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and add here own email address and delete the Apple ID email address. Also uncheck yur phone number if it appears. The only way to delete the phone number is to use an Apple ID not associated with the phone. You do that in Settings>Messages>Apple ID
You can go to Settings>FaceTime>Yu can be reached at and add here email and delete the Apple ID.

  • How can I change the default setting for downloading photos from email?

How can I change the default setting for downloading photos from emails I receive?  It shows the default as Photoshop Elements 4.0 and is not supported by this system.  That was my last computer!!
    Thanks,
    Sheila

That has nothing to do with styles nor Pages, it is a System/Printer Driver setting.
You can experiment to see if the Printer Settings stick with your document, but in the past this has not worked.

  • How to import photos from email to iphoto

How do I import photos I receive in my email to iphoto 11. I am using osx 10.8.2

Drag the photo to the desktop, then drag the photo on top of the iPhoto icon in the dock and iPhoto will open and import it. If iPhoto is already open, drag the photo into iPhoto's viewing window.
If you're using Apple's Mail app, there should be a save button next to the attachment. Click and hold on that and select 'save to iPhoto'.

  • Downloading photos from email...3.0?

Does 3.0 update the issue with downloading the full photo from email instead of a reduced copy?

    Hi Linda,
The best quality that you can get fro photos received via mail depends on the quality at which they have been sent. It might be that you have been sent the low resolution copies.

    Chhaya

I am not sure now what to suggest other than contacting your e-mail provider to see if they have any ideas. Even with a full sized pictures, mine have always gone through. Hopefully someone else will see this and be able to offer some help.
