Receiving Some Texts Only, But Can't Open Them

Ever since I updated the software, I have been getting messages, only a few, but can't open them. They appear blank, I cannot type, and can only mark them read. I have tried doing a battery pull, restarting it, and connecting it to blackberry link. Can anyone help?

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Welcome the the forum. Are you using Yahoo/VZ mail or standard Verizon webmail https://mail.verizon.com/webmail/driver?nimlet=showmessages&view=emails
In either case please try a different browser such as firebox in place of Internet explorer (or vice versa)

The alert message is just telling you that a specific feature won't use the GPU. This message is innocuous. It only means that the processing of one specific, obsolete feature will use the CPU, not the GPU.
Are you saying that After Effects won't start or open your project?

I can receive emails, but can't open them.

hi, i've had a number of emails sent to my imac computer but can't open them.
it shows all my emails in inbox, sent box, etc.but when i click on the email, it won't let me open them. can anybody help thanks.

If you're not able to send from an iCloud email address on your iPhone, be sure to follow these troubleshooting steps from the article above (iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Mail):
Make sure that Mail is turned on in Settings > iCloud.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your device in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. Then send an email to your account to verify that Push is working correctly.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your iCloud account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. If you're using iOS 6, tap Advanced. Then Tap your iCloud account and make sure that Push is turned on. If you have multiple iCloud Mail accounts set up on your device, Push can be used only withone account at a time. Make sure that Push is turned on for your primary iCloud Mail account.
Turn your device off and back on.
If the issue persists, turn off each of the settings in steps 4, 5, and 6 above, then turn them back on. If that does not help, follow these instructions to delete the iCloud account from your device, then add the account back:
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
Tap your iCloud account.
Tap Delete Account. If you store Contacts, Calendar, or Bookmarks data in iCloud, you will be given the option to keep that data.
On the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars screen, tap Add Account, then tap iCloud to begin setting up your iCloud account again. If data from your device is stored in iCloud, you will be given the option to merge that data with the data on your device.

Try to reset your iPad, pressed the On/Off button and the Homebutton at the same time till you see the Apple logo in the screen.

Are you asking about iPhoto on your Mac? This is the iPhoto on IOS devics forum.
What is your iPhoto version? And what happened to delete your photos?
Do you mean, you see the images in your iPhoto library, when you are browsing them, but you cannot edit them?
Then probably the original master image files are no longer there, but the previews are. If you are using iPhoto '11 you can see the Previews inside the iPhoto Library in the folder "Previews", when you ctrl-click the iPhoto Library and select "Show Package Contents".

I have downloaded files that Have the firefox logo but can't open them?

What happens if you open such a file in Firefox via File > Open File?
SVG files are XML files, do you see the source code of such a file?
What kind of files are those digi images?
If they are JPG or PNG image files then make sure that they have the correct file extension.

Can receive messages, but can't open them

We keep getting the following error message when we try to open messages, both new ones and past ones: "The message from <so-and-so> concerning 'subject' has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
If we quit the application and reopen it, we can access the message, but then, a minute later, it'll revert to the error message.

Most likely you are using a phone-in acount and somewhere in your acccount settings, messages over a certain size (e.g. 30kB) are left on the server. You have to decide that you want to receive them, reconnect to your server and than the whole message is downloaded to your computer! Hope this is helpful, otherwise give more detalis about your mode of connection ad type of account (POP, IMAP, ??. Success Frank

Downloaded 2 books from library but can't open them invalid Why?

Been using Overdrive Media Console for 2 yrs without a hitch & without having to sign in. Now asked to sign in which I have done an innumerable times with no success. Have changed my password, turned off IPad & on again. Librarian said Adobe support told them that I had too many devises with the same user name. However, I have only this devise I use for using Overdrive. I do not read on any other devise.Can someone help me out & tell me what I have to do to fix this?I would prefer not deleting the app & starting again but that was my next option. Thanks. Carole

Just bought some domaine names, but can't see them. they are redirected. best guess it is something embedded in firefox. i can't see anything though. help!

I bought some domain names from Godaddy. when i type the name into my firefox address line, instead of going to the parking page at godaddy, where it should go, it gets redirected to searchpagefix and there is a message on the side that says looksafe has blocked a hijacking page, etc.. i've spent hours on the phone with godaddy. they say the problem is not on their end. they see my domain name (peter-maloney.com) on their parking page. i spent hours on the phone with Norton support, my security software. They ran tests and diagnostics and found nothing. I downloaded ad-aware and ran that, nothing. I looked for looksafe to uninstall, etc. and it doesn't show up anywhere on my windows 7 machine. any suggestions? did this looksafe thing somehow get embedded in firefox? do i need to reinstall firefox? would i lose all my favorites?

Bad redirects can result from a variety of causes, including (1) system level malware, (2) system level settings changes, (3) bad Firefox add-on, (4) Firefox settings changes, (5) other (depending on the nature of the redirect).
Here's what I suggest for tracking it down:
(1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
(2) Then, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
(3) Check your '''Firefox connection setting''' in the Options dialog here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" connection settings, but you also can try "No Proxy" to see whether that works better.
(4) Search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].

Can receive BB messages from but can't send them to a contact

For months I have been sending and receiving messages to a contact. As of two days ago, I can receive BB messages from him, but when I send him a message I can the tick, but the message is never delivered (no 'D' or 'R').
I have changed no settings on my Bold 9900. We are both on the same carrier.
Please can someone help. Have come across loads of posts detailing the same problem, but not yet found an answer.

Can receive .png files (pictures) but can't forward them...

Here's a weird one. I've been getting fowards lately that have .png files in them for pictures. While I can view them on my iphone, when I forward them, it asks me it I want to attach them, of course I say yes, but the people I forward them to don't get the pictures. I don't think .png can be forwarded as it makes them turn in a question mark to the receiver.

Are you both using the same kind of mail account...are you both like Yahoo ...or are you using gmail and they are using a POP3 or yahoo or something else???
I'll have to test it later at home because I would have sworn that I sent .png files that were received fine by my recipient...

I assume that you are in the iBooks app on your iPad ? If you are, and you've just bought the books and are still viewing the store, then tap the Library button at the top left of the store and you should be taken back to the bookshelf in the app where your downloaded and/or synced books should show - tap a book on that bookshelf to open it

You would re-install Palm DT 4.1.4, then rename the .dat file to .old in each folder Datebook, Calendar, Too do's, and Memos under your user name in C:\Program Files\Palm\ [your Palm user name (similar)] . Then put the .dat file you have saved from your original install folders in each new respective folder. Then you should be able to view your data under the user name you placed it under.

Users can see, but can't open image files

We store all of our digital photos (jpg's) on an Xserve RAID attached to an Xserve.
Twice in the last 3 weeks I have started getting calls from staff members to tell me that they can see the files but can't open them.
The jpg files aren't recognized.
If I click on a file from my iMac I get the following message:
"Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that preview doesn't recognize."
If I reboot the server. The problem goes away. The files aren't corrupt and people can access them again. I saw this three weeks and then again today, so it's not like it happens every day.
Even though I connect from a Mac, most of my users are Windows users connecting via Samba.
We are using RAID Admin: 1.5 and Firmware ver.: 1.5-1.5.xfb
Mac OSX Server is 10.4.1
Any ideas why this happens?

Does the same thing happen with files that are on the local drive? That would be the first thing I'd check.
Any reason you're running 10.4.1 server and not 10.4.3? There were tons of fixes in 10.4.2 and 10.4.3 around the file system... I'd recommend the update strongly.
