Receiving someone else's Verizon notification emails

I continue to regularly receive email into my gmail account for notifications for some other Verizon Wireless customer.  Sometimes it's data usage, today it was a new phone that was ordered and shipped. I receive these multiple times per month.  How can I make this stop?

There's probably someone complaining they NEVER get any email notifications ... because their email was mistyped and you are getting their stuff.  I don't know of any way to correct it unless the person these are intended for goes into their account and realizes the mistake.
You can try figuring out whose account it is based on account information in the email, but think all you get is a partial account number or phone number....

  • Receiving someone else's Instagram notifications

    Hello,
So I had signed into my boyfriend's Instagram from my phone, I didn't change anything on his Instagram, just simply looked at his feed and logged off.
I logged back into my Instagram account, on my phone still, and ever since I've been receiving my boyfriend's Instagram notifications, even though I am currently logged into my Instagram.
I've looked up this problem around the web and have tried these solutions already:
    1. Logged out of my Instagram and logged my boyfriend out of his Instagram, then logged back into MY Instagram on MY phone and logged my boyfriend back into HIS Instagram on HIS phone. People have said that the account needs to be re-logged onto the device that will receive the notifications, I had done that and still no luck! I am still getting his notifications.
    2. Logged both of our Instagrams off our phones and also deleted the Instagram app from our phones, hoping the app would reset its notifications settings. I redownloaded the app on both of our phones and then signed back into MY Instagram on MY phone and HIS Instagram on HIS phone, Still nothing!
    Can someone please help?

I have the same problem... Tried everything as well... someone please help!!!!!!!!!!

  • Receiving someone else's email on my computer but addressed to another

I have been receiving someone else's email on my computer, but the email has the address for their
computer. We are using 2 different ISP; only our last name is the same. Is this the work of a virus/worm received from an email from the other person? What can I do to rid my email of this intrusion?

I would say there are 2 possibilities:
    1) The the sender (or sender's computer) sent the email to your address
    2) The ISP of 'the other person' has made an error in one of his rerouting-rules
The only thing you can do is report these cases (forward the email with Full Headers ON) to the postmaster of both your and the other person's domain, as well as to the sender.
The problem is not on your end UNLESS you managed to configure your mailreader in a way that you use the other person's mail-servername, username and password, which is very unlikely!
    Kind regards,
    Adam

  • Receiving someone else's e-mail?

This is the strangest thing i've ever run into...it appears that i'm receiving someone else's e-mail... does anyone know what could be causing this, and what can be done about it?...has this happened to anyone else on the forums, andhow did you fix it?....thanks! (this is happening on verizon's web-based e-mail under my account, to clarify)

We sent you a message on our private support board to assist you and we did not receive a response.  Please repost the issue if you are still experiencing a problem so that we may assist you.  Tonya C.

  • Someone else is using my email address as their apple id?

I am trying to create an apple ID, but it states one already exists using that email address; although when I try to reset the password, I don't receive the emails and if I try to answer the security questions, it wont accept my DoB?  Help... how can someone else have registered my email address as their apple ID?

You'll probably have to contact iTunes store support to straighten this out.  They deal with Apple ID issues all the time.  You can contact them here: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • Someone else is using my email address as I'd, any suggestions?, Someone else is using my email address as I'd, any suggestions?

Someone else is using my email address as I'd, any suggestions?

Are you sure it isn't you?  Apple sends e-mail to the address provided which means that even if somebody did have the wild idea of signing up for an account with an address that isn't theirs, it would just end up with you receiving their e-mail and essentially being able to take over their account.
    By the way, "I'd" = "I would".  I.D. = "Identity".

  • My photos contain someone else's photos and my phone settings are scrambled. I also receive someone else's messages after 7.0.3 update?

I have photos on my 4s of someone else, taken in a very different area than what I am in. Also receiving some of their imessages?

is there any chance that your icloud is signed into their account or them on your's?

  • Receiving someone else's photos in my Photo Stream through iCloud.

I've been using Photo Stream on iCloud for almost a year with no issues.  Last week, some random guy's photos started appearing in my stream.  The pics seem to be from an American account (or at least he was attending an NFL preseason game), while I live in Canada.  I'm a little uncomfortable with what seems like a pretty serious privacy issue and I'm obviously wondering if he can see my photos too.  How do I fix this?  Thanks.

Just as an interesting follow-up, I contacted Apple's technical support line to try to inform them of this privacy violation (i.e. That I've received photos of some guy's kids on my phone) and was told that they couldn't help me because I didn't have tech support coverage.  I could, however, purchase said coverage for $60 or $70.  I explained that I wasn't having a technical issue with my phone, but rather there was a back-end issue.  I asked why I should pay to have them deal with a problem on their end, and a problem that is actually affecting someone else, since it's his photos that are getting broadcast.  The Apple tech couldn't supply an answer to that.  He did suggest that I change my password, though I can't imagine the issue is that some guy hacked my account so he could upload pictures of his family playing in the backyard or him attending a football game.

  • Someone else has used my email account to create an itunes account

Hi! Hopefully somebody maybe able to help.
I have an itunes account, but have another personal email address. Someone has registered this email address for itunes and an ipod touch (which I don't have)
I saw the two emails from apple saying thank-you for registering so I emailed apple on [email protected] to say that I hadn’t registered this email account and asking them to delete my email address as an apple itunes account. I didn’t hear anything back so thought maybe it was ok.
Then today I received an itunes receipt only for $1.07 and billed to Store Credit. The email address is right but they have used my name and a different address in USA whereas I live in UK.
I’m worried this is fraud and it will escalate.
Any ideas how can I get this sorted out?
Anybody know of the best contact details for apple for this sort of thing?
Thanks for ay help anybody can give me!

You can contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting) and explain your situation to them.
    Good luck.

  • HT204088 Someone else has the SAME eMail Address as ME

Today I received an eMail from Apple to MY Apple ID / eMail Address. The Name that the eMail was supposed to be going to however was NOT ME. This has actually happened several times in the past several months, not just to me, but also to my wife. An eMail comes into our eMail Box for me.com, but the person it is directed to is NOT either one of us - but the eMail Addresses ARE ours.
The eMail I received today was for comeone in Arizona (I live in Washington State). It was an eMailed Receipt for something that customer had purchased in that Arizona Apple Store. So since I got his eMail, did he NOT get the Receipt? How can this happen? Are there no quality control checks on eMail Addresses so it's possible for MULTIPLE people to end up with the SAME eMail Address?
    Appreciate your Replys and Feedback...

The websites that she has signed up to I have logged in and there is no message asking for email verification which suggests she is receiving emails.
If they could sign in using an email address that isn't verified then all the website owner has is her word that she is receiving their emails.  Besides, if there had been a verification email for these sites, you would have seen it too; which suggests that there wasn't.
Once you get the password changed they will not be able to receive any email from the account, even if they do now.  That may not be the end of the problem, however, as there would still be nothing to prevent them from continuing to use the address to sign up on websites that don't verify the address.  If it persists, you may have to either create a new iCloud account in order to get a new email address, or create an alias address to use within the existing iCloud account and stop using your main address for email.  Then you can set up an email rule on icloud.com that sends email from the main addres to the trash where it is deleted 30 days later.  This explains how to create an alias address: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.  This explains how to set up an email rule: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a3f8a.  Good luck.

  • Receiving someone else's scam mail?

Got the FBI scammers email item with attachment, responded as well as bounced it and got the non delivery message etc but soon later get a couple more different odd emails with the same? attachment. Then notice that all of them weren't even addressed to me. What gives?
    PB 12 G4 Mac OS X (10.2.x)

This is very typical behavior of a Windows-type e-mail worm/virus/trojan/etc.
Malicious users will do just about anything to try to get you to open an attachment (which often contains malware), so they'll make the e-mail look like it came from the FBI, a friend of yours, your boss, etc...
Another common tactic is the "Delivery Failure" message, which makes it look like a message you sent (but didn't really send) couldn't reach its destination, so you receive a Delivery Failre report. The Delivery Failure message often contains a malware attachment as well.
These types of messages are common because its pretty smple to spoof your e-mail address and just about anyone can send out e-mail and make it look like it came from you.
Just ignore the messages, and don't ever respond to them, or open attachments. Even though it is VERY UNLIKELY that any attachment could harm your Mac, it is still best to just delete the junk mail, and move on.

  • Someone else is using my email id for facetime and imessage, how can i fix this??

    How can i fix this??

To elaborte on Davids response aortiz5 you can got to appleid.apple.com and click the option to manage your apple id.  Here you will be able to change your primary apple id and email address if you want. Or if this is your apple id and you think some one else has access to it you can click on passwords and security on the left and change your password for your apple id which will cause the other devices to prompt for the new password.

  • How do I stop receiving someone else' messages? The phone number on the machine's not mine. Signing in and out of Apple ID did not fix the problem.

My brand new MacBook Air is receiving my partner's iMessages instead of mine, and all messages I send, go as from him. (Which has been highly embarrasing).
I've already checked that my macine is linked to my Apple ID, which only has my phone numbers associated with it. I have already signed out, and signed back in.
It is a brand new machine. But I believe I entered his number instead of mine when initially setting up my MacBook, and can't figure out how to change the phone number associated with this machine.
His number is the only number which appears under: "You can be reached for messages at:" under Settings/Accounts.

You can not change the number. That is linked to the phone the Apple ID is used on. Is he signed in on his phone with your Apple ID? Are you sharing an Apple ID?
If you are sure you are signed in with your Apple ID and he is not using yours on his phone, then check the settings for iMessage on your phone: Settings > Messages > Send & Recieve. Is that the correct number? If so turn off iMesssage on your phone then turn it back on. Go back to your Mac and sign oput of iMessage then back in.

  • How can I set a password on my Mac Mini so someone else cannot open it and read emails, etc.?

How can I set a password on my Mac Mini?  Someone else is reading my emails.  I would like to be able to lock it so nothing on it could be seen without a password.  Is that possible?  How?

So uncheck the automatic login after making sure you know your password and it will require a password on startup.
You can also go into the security preferences and have the machine lock itself once the screensaver is activated. This is sometimes controlled from the screensaver preferences as well.
You could also go nuts and activate multiple users where your name appears in the menu bar. When you walk away from the machine you can use that menu to take you to the "login window", effectively locking your machine.

  • I am trying to set up a new Apple ID for my 2 sons.  It says that both of their emails are already in use for someone else Apple ID.  They don't have other emails.  What do I do?

Apple ID already in use by someone else.

    Cara,
If those email addresses are already in use somewhere else, you can get new email addresses for your kids.  You can do this via your ISP, or by one of the free email services such as hotmail, yahoo, or gmail.
