Receiving work email on my iPhone

when i go into the settings and add a new email account so i can receive my work email on my iPhone, i get the error: cannot connect using SSL.
My tech guy said to use the email forward function in our email admin site requiring me to type [email protected] but i don' want to have to do this. Can anyone please help? Thanks!

I believe the iPhone's Mail client attempts to connect to the incoming mail server via SSL when creating a new account which is secure. If SSL is not supported by the incoming mail server for the account, you should be provided a prompt - do you want connect without using SSL?
If SSL is not supported with the account, are you not provided the prompt to connect without using SSL?

Is there a way to set up an auto redirect from my work email to my iPhone?

I currently using my personal email on my iPhone. However, I would like to find a way to get my work emails automatically redirected to my iPhone when I am not in the office. I don't want to set up a separate account because I only want those emails which I receive after I leave the office. I'm envisioning something similar to call forwarding on a phone where when you are in the office, you take it off, and when you are out, you can turn it on.
Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it, and what do I need to tell my company's IT person? I don't want to be carrying 2 smart phones (Blackberry for work, iPhone for personal use).

The only problem will be when replying or forwarding a work email with your personal email account, which will be sent with your personal email account/address.
This can't be set up with the iPhone - this must be set up at the server for the email account to be forwarded to another email account.
Is your work account an Exchange account? If so, I'm not sure if an Exchange account supports being forwarded to another email account, and this would need to be turned on at the server at work every day at a designated time and turned off at a designated time in the morning.

I have received an email for an iPhone repair I haven't had done, what should I do?

Find My iPhone is a generic term that is used for this feature regardless of whether it is turned on on an iPad or an iPhone.
If you deleted your iCloud account on your iPad, and have not signed back on to iCloud, then the Find My iPhone feature is turned off, and your device is not protected nor can it be tracked if it is stolen.
Sign back into iCloud on your iPad, and go to Settings>iCloud to turn Find My iPhone back on to remedy this situation, if you wish.

I have an iPhone and subscribe to MobileMe. I am also trying to access my email and calendar from my work email. Would I set it up as a Microsoft Exchange Account?

Your work would tell you the settings you need as they have to first setup Exchange to allow it.

Unable to receive/send emails from my iPhone when away from home.

I have been unable w/ in the past week or so to send emails from my iphone once I am away from my house, if I am home there is no problem because it jumps onto my wireless but outside it wont let me I have always been able to until lately.
What should I check, where should I go, what should I do, who should I call?????

How to receive all emails on both iphone and PC

I had a Blackberry for the last 5 years and a HTC Desire for the last 3 months - the email system on both was excellent in that -
Every email went to both my PC and the phone
So if I deleted it off my phone - I knew it was on the PC until I deleted it from there.
Now I have an iphone4 and the system is proving a nightmare -
It sends half the emails to my PC and half to the iphone but not both
Sending emails from the iphone takes hours if they even go
And if I delete emails off the iphone they reappear then 4 hours later
Sometime when I try to access emails on the iphone -- I get an error message saying server not recognised
And so it continues ....
Is there anyway that the iphone can do exactly the same as the Blackberry and HTC in that all emails go to both my phone and my PC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With your phone connected, iTunes running, on the Info pane, scroll down, under Advanced, replace data on this phone with data on this computer, put a check in the box for contacts, hit apply/sync.

Why haven't I received an email saying my iPhone reached Apple?

I am not sure if this is the right category for this question but...
I sent off my iPhone for repair last Tuesday (the 13th) so I tracked it through UPS and it said arrived to the destination (in Concord, ON apparently) on Thursday (the 15th). Well it is now the 20th and I haven't gotten any email confirmation that my iPhone reached the destination from Apple. Did my phone get lost there or something or does it just take long? When I go to my repair status it still says "empty box delivered". It is also almost the 10th business day since I requested the repair so I am worried that my request will my cancelled and my phone will be stuck there.

There should be a tracking number in the documentation you got with the empty box by which you can track the package. If not, call Apple Support and ask them about status.

Okay, so you are sending mail from a work account on the iPhone 5, however if you try to send it to your hotmail or gmail accounts from the same work account, they are not received on the hotmail or gmail account? Is that correct?

NO - I dont have any hotmail/gmail account setup on my phone. Its a new work phone and I only have work email account setup on the phone. I was just trying to send a test email to my hotmail and gmail account but failed to receive those using my work email account on iphone 5.
I have tried receiving email on my work account on iphone, sent from my hotmail account (using web) and received it.
Incoming is all fine and I am able to receive emails from all sources but outgoing is only sucessful if I send it to anyone using my company's email account.
Sorry if my question wasn't clear earlier. I really need to fix this..

Hello, as of yesterday I am not receiving any emails on my iPhone. Have tried turning the phone off, and rebooting. Doesn't work. I read something about having your email account open on another device, but that has not affected it before. None of the new emails in my inbox are showing up. Please help!!!!

Try quitting the Mail app.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
