Recent Blackberry Update From RIM.

I recently downloaded and installed an update to my Blackberry Torch after receiving an e-mail prompting me to do so from RIM.
The update was correctly downloaded and installed and there were no problems.However it was about a week later I noticed that around half-a-dozen of my contacts had been deleted.Thankfully I had them all saved to my SIM card,so I have not lost any of the information.Regretfully attempts to put them back into my contacts list has not succeeded.
Every time I type the information into a profile form for 1 contact,and click "save",nothing happens.I go to the contact list and the new contact information is not there.So far I have been using my SIM card to contact friends who have been deleted from my contact list,but I would really like to have my list back the way it was,until I updated my phone.
Hopefully you will be able to offer me some adivce on how to put my Torch back to normal operation. 

Are you running any other apps that interact with the address book?
If it were me, I would now use desktop manager and clear the address book database, then restore from a prior backup or resync.

  • Problem Connecting to Internet after recent Software Updates from Apple

    I have an old iMac 15" flat panel, running OS X 10.3.9, just ran the Software Update an hour ago. Now my computer won't connect to my wireless network via the Airport. I tried to open the Internet Connect apps from Apple and it won't even load, it has this swirling beachball has been on for 15 minutes and it says "Loading Internet Connect..."
    Anybody experience something like this! Could this be another Apple blunder with their software update?
    I tried, restart, remove the plist of Internet Connect, all those did not help!

  • Recent Blackberry update - clock not working properly, nor is Blackberry app worldH

    Can anyone advise please - my Curve 8520 has just received an update......however, since doing so, I am unable to set the alarm on my clock....and blackberry app world keeps crashing on me.
    Has anyone else had this.....can anyone help please....it's very frustrating.

    This is the first I have seen of that issue.
    So, open your Clock > Menu key > Set Alarm. When you click on Set Alarm, nothing happens... the device does not respond and no alarm options appear?
    I'd say do another reboot:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
    Let us know.

    However, after the update on 4 devices in my home, not one of them lost their website history.  Not one device, so it would not be a common issue for the update to delete ones internet history.  So to the OP.......I would be a bit skeptical about your son's claim the update removed his internet browsing history.

    I have spent days trying to fix this, i have been onto Epsons website & followed their resolution for this error message to no avail, after contacting them again with the results i got an email back saying : In response to your email, the RX640 will use an inbox or gutenprint driver on Mac OS X 10.6.8, it is not compatible with an Epson driver.
    I have also tried re-installing drivers from original Discs for the printer but it still will not print, obviously this error has been caused by Apple's latest software update, when are Apple going to fix this problem? i need my printer working ASAP.

    It is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.

  • Why can't 4.01 connect after updating from Firefox 4? I must use a system restore to get back online with Firefox 4, using Vista Home Basic SP2.

    Firefox is my default browser. Recently I updated from 3.5 to 4.0 with no problem. Then, using 4.0, the new update notice appeared. I clicked to update to 4.01, but after downloading, 4.01 could no longer connect to any web page, and displayed the error connecting message (including "server may be busy, wait and try again" etc.). It never did connect. Yet Internet Explorer was able to, which I loathe to use even as a back up browser. I also checked to see if IE9 had stolen the default browser association, but it hadn't. I was hoping I could blame Microsoft's shenanigans, oh well!
    I then did a system restore from a point a few days prior, and 4.0 was up and running like before.
    Twice thereafter, I tried to update again manually, using Help/About Firefox/Check for Updates. The same thing happened.
    I'm content for now to stick with 4.0. FYI & FWIW, I tried to provide this feedback to Mozilla at another page, and was told I must have "the latest version" in order to submit feedback. I'm glad I found this way of letting you know of this repeated problem.

  • Can't insert a CD/DVD into the disc drive.  Recently installed a new harddrive, and the CD/DVD drive hardware is no longer recognized. Also, with new harddrive,  OS was updated from Snow Leopard to Mt. Lion 10.8.5 on late 2007 MBP.

    Also, when I check out the hardware list, under Disc Burning - the following is reported:  No disc burning device was found. If the device is external, make sure it’s connected and turned on.
    The disc drive worked fine prior to the HD upgrade and OS update to Mt. Lion.

    If you're old phone that was repalced was a higher version of iOS, it wont be able to restore. Update your iPhone to the lastest iOS 7.0.4 and try to restore it then.

    A book is a lot of work and in the end needs to not only be openable, printable, but also be laid out with facing pages amongst other numerous desirable features.
    None of which suggest Pages 5 to me.
    If you want to persist in Pages 5.5 you will have to laboriously cut and paste the content into one file and hope that will still be usable when you are finished.
    Or you could export to Pages '09 or pdf format and assemble it there.

    Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
    In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.
    You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing".

  • Most recent RAW update, New Aperture and Maverick but still Aperture cannot view RAW files from my Sony RX-100 camera.

    I have all the most recent Software updates and a brand new version of Aperture but when I connect my Sony RX-100 to my MBP, Aperture cannot view or import the RAW files. It will import JPEG format. I am new to Aperture and would appreciate some advice here. Do I need an old RAW format update or is there something else I need to do here.

    And how are you spawning the php instances? I don't see that in the daemons array anywhere.
    EDIT: It looks like the info in that page is no longer using pre-spawned instances, but lighttpd adaptive-spawn. The documentation has been made inconsistent it looks like.
    You will note that with pre-spawned information, the config looks different[1].
    You need to do one or the other, not both (eg. choose adaptive-spawn, or pre-spawn..not both).

    It sounds as though you have a corrupt project - or possibly a file within an event that is causing the application to crash.
    Quit FCP X, then move your projects and events (if you have any) to new folders so that FCP X doesn't find them, then relaunch the application. If it launches OK, there's a very good chance one of your projects or events is causing the problem.
    Quit the app again, then move one event or project at a time back to the original folder and launch FCP X again - keep going until you find the cause.

  • Recently upgraded to Maverick from SnowLeopard. Unable to get updates from App store.

    iMac seriously screwing up. HD corrupted. Erased. Installed Maverick (had SnowL before). iPhoto 11 and iMovie 9.0.4both missing after installing Maverick. Downloaded updates from Apple.com and was able to get pictures and movies back and updated to 9.4 for iPhoto and 9.0.4 for iMovie. Got message that both can be updated more. However when I tried, the App store sent message that with my new Apple ID it was bought by different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. True I had changed my password recently, but App store is not getting it.

    I too was being denied updates to iPhoto and was intending to simply delete the apps as I mainly use Photoshop.

    I went into my account hit reset and then went to install and it worked, I now have iPhoto 9.5.1!
    I probably still won't use it very much but it was maddening being denied the update.

  • Why has my safari icon disappeared from the applications bar after the recent software update?

    Everything was working perfectly until I uploaded the most recent software update. When I restarted my laptop I found that the Safari icon had disappeared from my applications bar.  If I go to my 'recent places' and click on Safari it then reappears but only until I close the laptop down as the next time I start it up, it's nowhere to be seen.  Can anyone help?  

    by applications bar you mean "dock"? After you click on recent places and start safari it will reappear in the dock and at this point you will want to control + click (right click) on the SAFARI icon and hover to options, make sure that "KEEP IN DOCK" has a check mark next to it. If it does not, click that option. Now it will keep the Safari Icon in your dock.
