Recent File List on Getting Started Window

Displays last two projects and most recent files. As everything I do is project-based, I would like to display more than 2 or the entire list as most recent projects. Is this possible with an ini setting?

How to clean up the list of recent files in the Getting Started Window?

The pinned/not pinned distinction for projects appearing in the getting stared window (GSW) is a bit moot if like me you are working on only a few projects.
What I find particularly distracting is projects popping up in this list if, say, I check out some examples, or temporarily load a project from an alternate location, etc.
I want to remove those from the list right away, but as simple as the request sounds, I could not figure out how to do that elegantly.
Pinning/Unpinning doesn't work, there is no "Clear recent file/project list" in the corresponding LV menus and the only way I can think of doing that is by editing the ini file.
Am I missing something?

This has been one of those majorly annoying things I have screamed about for a long time. And when they created the "new" GSW with the pinned projects and recent files, I was so hoping they would just add a simple right-click menu to remove an item from the list. But no. It didn't happen.

Be careful anytime using Regedit and editing the Registry...
If you are using Windows this method should work-
--- this method works for CS6, not sure about (sigh) 'Creative Cloud' ---
Close Dreamweaver
Press & Hold the Windows key on keyboard>
Type in regedit... click run - click ok when admin. dialog opens>
Folders on left, click HKEY_CURRENT_USER>
than click Software>
than click Adobe>
than click Dreamweaver CS6>
...scroll until you see the folder 'Recent File List'
than click Recent File List>
Again BE CAREFUL!!
Leave the first key which should be (Default), the rest which have names File1, File2, File3, etc., right click and select delete (you can also click and drag to highlight all the ones you want to delete, agree.

Recent Files List in Dreamweaver CS5.5

Recently opened files are not being stored in the recent file list (File --> Open Recent) on my installation of Dreamweaver. Is there a setting I can enable to turn this on?

Are you using Mac or Windows?
The recent file list is stored in the Registry on Windows. Are you having other Registry problems?
Please provide a simple recipe for what you are doing.
How do you open the file? There are many ways to open files in DW.
What kind of is it? html? js? css? php?
Are you in code view? design view? live view?
What do you do while you're there?
How do you close the fille?
How many other files do you have open?

Recent files list is not updating after 10.1.13

Recent files list is not updating after 10.1.13 update unless I open the file via the Network in Windows Explorer. If I open a file by accessing the file via a drive listed under Computer, the recent files list does not update. The recent files list updates only if I open the file from the same drive listed under Network.

The 'Open Recent' files list is too short.
Is there a way to make it longer, e.g. for 25 or 50 files?

I'm not sure that it's a good idea but it's your wish so here is the soluce:
set nbRecents to 30
do shell script "defaults write com.apple.iWork.Pages NSRecentDocumentsLimit " & nbRecents
If you want the same behavior in Numbers, use:
set nbRecents to 30
do shell script "defaults write com.apple.iWork.Numbers NSRecentDocumentsLimit " & nbRecents
In fact we may use that for every application with a Recent Items menu.
I got it in a thread dedicated to the behavior of Script Editor.

File names not shown in Recent Files list

On my Samsung Galaxy S3, when I access the Recent Files list, the files I have downloaded in the last few weeks mostly have names like downloaded_file-51.pdf . In the Documents List under /storage/emulated/0/Download, the names appear correctly. Older files appear correctly in the Recent Files list.
Has anyone else seen this problem?

Delete files in Open Recent Files list - CS3

Is it possible to delete single files in the "Open Recent Files" list
or specify how many recently opened files are be shown?

No and no, although Adobe themself doesn't seem to have any problems with this -- every single update kills the list (to my chagrin).
Can't imagine any bona fide reason you'd want to. It's not like it's meant as sort of kind of Document organizing feature, as if.

Odd Files in Recent Files List

We recently ran into some virus/identity theft issues on our macs. We are a little concerned about a list of files which appeared in the 'recent files list' for excel (see attached screenshot). The files seem to be related to emails and were located in a /volumes/date file location.

Vs 3.6.8 Recent install had a button, top left "Recent" next to the "Getting Started" button. I accidently deleted it. I've visited About:Config Taskbar and it isn't there.

I did a factory restore w/ HP tech. giveing me the advice to do so. I have a HP Pavillion 17 notebook. came installed w/ Windows 8 after a few months I upgraded to 8.1 Now after restore Im running 8 My problem is after this re-start I did not get all my factory installed apps. EXAMPLE Getting started Windows 8 and others. Desktop Icons also did not populate except trash quick start icon thats it Please help THE HP TECS I HAVE SPOKE WITH apx. 8 HOURS in 3 days time are very hard to UNDERSTAND AS IM SPEAKING TO THESE GUYS IN INDIA india. tHEY ALL HAVE GAVE ME DIFFERENT ADVICE AND HAVE CAUSED ME TO HAVE MORE PROBLEMS WITH MY SYSTEM THAN I DID IN THE BEGINNING.

LabVIEW Getting Started window

Whenever I close VI, it automatically opens the LabVIEW Getting Started window, which can be annoying occasionaly.
How do I set LabVIEW up in order not to pop up Getting Started window every time I close all VIs ?

There is also an option to have LabVIEW skip the Getting Started window when starting up. Go to Tools>>Options>>Environment, then check the box called "Skip Getting Started window on launch". The Getting Started window will still appear when you close all VIs, but this might be helpful if you want to go straight to an empty VI when starting LabVIEW.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
/Library/Application Support/VSearch

/System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Recent files list not saved or updated

I've just noticed that my Acrobat is no longer saving Recent files.
I don't know what the problem is, but my settings are set to remember 10 files and the organizer to remeber for 30 days.
How can I fix this problem?
