Recent loss of signal

for the last 3 weeks I have no signal in the house, it was fine before then. No problems when I was with Orange either but was advised to change to EE when I upgraded.

Hi , Do you have absolutely no signal all day when at home? Or does it fluctuate? I'd take a look at the online coverage checker in the first instance.  Have you tried removing the SIM card and then reinserting it? If you still have network issues, you'll need to contact EE directly. Here's how to get in touch with the EE Customer Service team:
If you're on Twitter, you can tweet them @EE, however If you'd prefer to talk to someone, you can dial:
150 from your EE mobile phone
If you're ringing from another phone, it's 01707 315000

  • Using keynote presentation on projector have had brief loss of signal

    I have changed projector and iPad and still experience during keynote presentation a brief loss of signal to projector.
    This happens at random and keynote presentation restarts on projector. Tried every source to help and followed all advice and it still
    happens at random.  Can play a movie using same gear no problem at all; Please Help.

    Please do not type in all caps, that is considered shouting on a public forum and also rude which I am sure is not your intent. I would also suggest reposting in the Keynot forum, that is where the Keynote gurus are likely to be.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone Death Grip and Loss of Signal

    There is NO doubt the new iPhone has "death grip" "loss of signal" issues. Including my new iPhone, there are 4 Verizon phones in my home. All 4 phones show 3 bars when laying on the counter. The iPhone consistently, everytime, drops to 1 bar when it is picked up and held in a normal position. The other 3 phones (HTC Incredible, Blackberry Curve 8330, and an LG Cosmos all maintain 3 bars when picked up and held in a normal position. In fact, when I recived my first call on my iPhone the caller complained my voice was breaking up. NONE of my other phones have that problem. I called Verizon support on my iPhone, and they said my call was breaking up. I changed my holding position so I was pinching the the front and back of the phone (not touching any of the metal frame), and they said they could hear me much better. Nice test, huh? I have checked this situation over and over. I am not going to "pinch" my phone to use it. I am not going to spend more money on a bumper or case to use it. I am going to hold Verizon to their promise that that the known antenna issue with the iPhone was fixed. I am going to return my iPhone for a full refund and HIGHLY recommend that ANYONE who thinks the antenna issue is fixed is flat out WRONG. I HAD a lot of confidence in Verizon and Apple before this fiasco. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that both of them new full well that the defect still existed and still hyped and released a defective product. I will be the first to gladly participate in any class action suit that comes out of this - which I am sure it will. DO NOT BUY AN IPHONE 4.

    Verizon didn't promise you that the issue no longer existed (if a rep that hadn't had a chance themselves to see the phone until activating them for customers on the 10th told you this they were not the most reliable to respond unfortunately). Technically I don't recall Apple ever officially stating so (they never said they did the antenna changes as a "fix" to the issue...they said they did it to accomodate the CDMA chip), but if they did and it does not happen to be true for you and the phones in your household then by all means return them. At the end of the day, Verizon did not make the equipment....they just finally worked it out to get the rights to sell it with their service for the customers that have been begging for it for years. Be disappointed in Apple (as far as the antenna issue goes). For you, the issue exists. For others, it exists. For many, it does not. So being able to say there is NO doubt that the issue still exists is still very debatable at this point. Personally, I have had almost 1 full week (tomorrow) of crystal clear calls, no antenna issues, no dropped calls or dropped bars other than the normal that occurs with any phone on any network. Actually, the bars on my iPhone are interestingly more stable than those of my Blackberry Tour were.
    At any rate, I'm sorry that the iPhone did not live up to your expectations, but your experience is not definitive of all iPhone users any more than mine is.

  • Loss of signal

    Over the past week I keep loosing my signal and it changes to "emergency calls only". I contacted vodafone who checked and advised that there was not a server issue then I visited the shop who gave me a new sim card, any advice on what the problem can be, also battery now drains within 24 hours, never used to be a problem?
    Thanks

    If you are traveling or moving about you may be experiencing a loss of signal strength which can cause what you describe.  24 hours on a Z10 is incredible battery life.  I use mine a lot and find that about 8-10 hours is the max I can go without switching out the battery or without charging.
    There also may be a sim card issue. Try swapping it out and see if that makes a difference.

  • My iphone has recently loss about 10G of memmory. I check through settings/general/usage, all apps I had add up to less than 2G. I used to be able to take around 2hrs of video and now I can't take any. Can anyone help? Thanks

    My iphone has recently loss about 10G of memmory. I check through settings/general/usage, all apps I had add up to less than 2G. I used to be able to take around 2hrs of video as I like to record down whatever happening in front of my car when I'm driving. I delete the videos everyday ifn nothing special. It seems that lately when I deleted the videos, they're not removed from the phone's memmory.
    I check form setting/general/usage : all my apps add up to less than 2G. In itune, it shows all memmary is under the catagory "other". Is there any way I can access this "other" memmory to see what's in it and delete the things I don't want to regain the loss memmory?
    Thanks

    You could always try restoring, although maybe someone else on here has a better idea.
    Hopefully by posting this, it will bump up and someone with more iPhone troubleshooting experience might chime in.
    As for the videos - interesting! Do you have the iPhone on one of those window holders, or do you hold it in your hand since that might ironically distract you, unless you've gotten very good at it!

  • HT4061 IPhone 4s Unexpected loss of signal

    Is there a Way I can contact someone at APPLE or somewhere else  so I can solve my software problem with my IPhone 4S?
    Unexpected loss of signal and communications have occurred to the point that I cannot use my phone any longer.  I went to see my telephone service provider and they told me that there is no problem with it (service, signal, chip, etc.) but they have been aproached by many IPHONE 4S users reporting the same problem.
    I have read many things about this matter in internet but no one seem to have solution to this. Everyone (around the world) agrees  that this is caused by a faulty software. I have updated my phone with  the latest version (OS 6)  and the problem has gotten worse. I also have battery problems since this one doesn't last not even 3 hours after the upgrading. I have found NO other place or option where  I can get support but this "Apple suport communities".  I bought my phone,factory unlocked, from Apple Store in NY and  actually I'm using it in La Paz, Bolivia (South America).
    I belive that if Mr. Jobs would still be alive things would have been different.
    Carlos

    I have the same problem with my 4s work ok for 1 week when I got it and now it keeps losing signal fix this apple please it's not my mobile provider everything is ok on there side.

  • Repeat loss of signal

    I have a WRT54G ver.6 and i am able to connect to the internet but loss the signal randomly every few hours. Upgraded Firmware with no luck. Somebody please help

    I had this same problem - lots of us apparently do. I read numerous threads, tried numerous changes to settings, upgrading the firmware, etc. I even tried a newer version of the router (WRT54G to WRT54GS). Nothing worked. I then tried changing to the DD-WRT firmware, and since then, I've had zero problems: no dropped connection, no rebooting the router.
    Visit http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page for info on the firmware and instructions on how to download and install.

  • Loss of signal after reboot

    I am losing my iPhone's signal everytime it is rebooted, for example when it runs out of battery. Then, after boot up and after entering my PIN code, it keeps saying "no signal" and the only solution is to do a reset by pressing home+power buttons at same time.
    Can this problem be solved?
    P.S.: I've recently travelled to another country and used roaming.
             I've already done a reset to my network settings.
    Thank you all!

    Yes, alternate universe appears to be the most logical explanation. After months of no signal at all on the iMac, but great signal on the four other wireless connections, suddenly with no other changes or adjustments, simply doing a QuickTime update, causes the signal to re-appear during the update, to remain during multple reboots - even after rebooting in OS 9.2.2, and then rebooting again in OSX.4.6 the signal is still great - and even after five days the signal is still great - no signal fluctuating over the past five days (that had been a common phenomena before) - no signal drop offs during the past 5 days (that also had been a common phenomena). What? was it one of those wild coincidences, that at the precise moment that I was doing the QuickTime update, that actually an hideous, undetected RF Interference source chose that exact instant to stop interferring and to remain non-interferring until this present moment (doubtful) - or was it somehow related to software or to the update process? (I realize that this is not an attractive hypothesis, but is it remotely possible? - Of course, if it is in someway, that Apple wouldn't come out and say as much - not prudent -, but would attempt to correct it in a subsequent update)
    ---- So Gino, re-enter the real universe, don't speak these things, but be quiet and simply be satisfied that you have a good signal again - you'd be better off not even remembering that these other things even happened.

  • Loss of signal aftrer 15 minutes with no use

    how do I cahnge settings to allow audio file sto continue without interuption?

    Interesting. I suspected something like that would happen. It's the way the iPhone 4 is "talking" to the cell towers. Perhaps in Buffalo you have much lower cell signal strength than is advertised by the bars, therefore any interference by hands will make it drop. And in Canadia, you're experiencing much stronger signal strength, therefore your hands don't even impact it all that much.
    I have NO signal loss, bar drop, data speed drop, etc here in Los Angeles, Specially in my neighborhood. I know i must has a cell tower nearby, since i've never dropped a call or seen my bars drop below 5 bars for years and years now (3 years on orginal iPhone and 2 years on Cingular).
    So i do suspect that it's an issue with how the bars are displaying signal strength and not so much hardware. Although, it could be both. But in my experiences so far, i have no issues what so ever.
    Good test. Glad you reported this. Could shed some more light and help others

  • Recent decrease in signal strength

    I've had Verizon service for quite some time, and have had the iPhone 5 since launch. At my home I have constantly had 4-5 bars of LTE service and very good voice coverage. Recently, I believe beginning last Wednesday, I awoke to find that I was on 3G. I shrugged it off, however since then I can not maintain good LTE signal coverage. The highest I've seen within about one mile of my home since last Wednesday is two bars. I could see if when I bought the iPhone 5 in September if LTE was not as good but to have constantly had 4-5 bars the past eight months and to suddenly have only one bar of LTE and more of the time to be on 3G is upsetting. I know this isn't an issue with my device as we have two other iPhone 5's in the house of which are also only getting 1-2 bars of LTE and also fluctuating back and forth to 3G constantly. Outside of my home on my block I used to get 5 full bars of LTE, now again only 1 or 2 bars for about a mile around my house, then coverage is how it always was in the area. So this seems to just be affecting a small area around me. I'm wondering if there is work being done to a tower or if someone could help me find this information out.

    I want to see the service enhanced for you! What zip code are you in? Were there any storms in your area recently? We may be involved with upgrading the service in your area. Keep me posted!

  • HT1267 I have a factory unlocked Iphone 4S, it worked fine but it was lossing the signal and going into search, I decided to restore, but now can not activate it, a message can not be activated because the server is temporary unavailable try again later??

    I have a factory unlocked Iphone 4S, it worked fine but it was often lossing  signal and going into search, I decided to restore, but now can not activate it, a message can not be activated because the server is temporary unavailable try again later, I have tried this for 3 days, any suggestions?

    yes did you buy it of somebody or a well known company such as apple or carphone warehouse?
    and i mean the phone would have been activated in the first place with the sim card you get given when you first get the phone.
    trying to activate the phone with another sim card that you did not get when you brought the phone may result in you not being able to activate it
    no worries

  • UTA200-TM Modem Loss of Signal

    I recently signed on for tmobile @home VOIP service and been having an intermittant issue where my cable modem looses signal/activity.  I worked with my ISP provider and even added a new cable modem (CM100) and found that there is no issue when the computer is directly connected to the modem.  Once I connect the adapter and router though the modem locks up and the activity and Cable/online light goes out.  I need to reboot several times and disconnect the adapter to get the signal back.
    Here is my set-up ( in order).
    Linksys CM100 cable modem
    Linksys UTA200-TM VOIP adapter
    Linksys WRT54G2-V1 wireless router
    Router connected to one computer via wireline, and a few lines are in place which are not active at the moment or since I added the adapter.   Wireless is off.
    Any insight that anyone has to this issue would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Take out the VOIP Adapter out of the equation and see if you have stable Internet Connection through the router and the modem...

  • Recent FIOS Wireless Signal Drop

    Over the past month and a half I have noticed that the signal strength of my router does not get the same speeds it once did. My router is in the basement and on the second floor I do not get the same speed I used to get. I have tried changing the channel to 6 or 11 without any luck. I have no new wifi items in my house that would justify such a loss. Any suggestions?

    Let me chime in that if you already have coax running to your second floor (for TV), you might consider getting one of these network extenders:
    If coax is already available, installation is pretty simple and that device should give you solid WiFi coverage on your second floor.

  • Recent loss of embedded QT movies on many page for IE7 using ActiveX object

    I have many pages that allow you to select from 4 video formats including QT .mov. An example is at http://www.cwdjr.net/video4/cancanL.php . The QT object uses ActiveX when on IE only(I use Windows conditional comments) and an ordinary object for most other browsers. Until sometime very recently all of these pages worked when you select the QT file. Now QT works on none of them. I suspected the problem might be due to a very recent Windows XP update which is a large one including .NET updates and other things(K8951847) X 86. I was able to restore to a day before this update, but this did not solve the problem. Of course some portions of some updates can not be removed be restoring to an earlier time, so the result does not prove the update was not at fault.
    The involved pages are mostly written in php on the server, so you will not be able to see very much by viewing the source code. To make the problem more simple to view, I made a test page for QT only and with the ActiveX object only. Thus this test page can not be viewed on most browsers that do not support ActiveX. The test page is at http://www.cwdjr.info/broadbandMedia/formatsAX/qtmovtest2.php . Since I serve pages as valid xhtml 1.1 using the correct mime type application xhtml+xml, no IE browser can view the page, since no IE browser can support xhtml served properly. Thus I have a php include at the very top for header exchange between the browser and server. If this says the page does not support the mime type for xhtml, then php using regular expressions, etc is used to rewrite the page as html 4.01 strict for the outmoded browser. Thus don't be surprised if you find some pages in xhtml and others in html when you check properties.
    The ActiveX object used for QT on the test page is below:
    QT MOV
    (CLICK ABOVE LINK IF NO PLAYER)
    <object classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B" width="400" height="295" codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab">
    <param name="autoplay" value="true" />
    <param name="controller" value="true" />
    <param name="kioskmode" value="true" />
    <param name="src" value="http://www.cwdjr.info/movie/cancan.mov" />
    </object>
    Once the page comes up on IE7, it is rather slow to respond. Then it gives:
    "Web site wants to install the following ActiveX control: 'Quick Time' from 'Apple Inc'".
    If you do try to install, nothing happens. In contrast to my regular pages, I added the code show above just before the start of the object. Clicking this on will bring up the QT video, but of course it is not embedded on the desired page. This may work as a temporary fix for IE. I likely can hide it from other browsers by enclosing it in Microsoft conditional comments.
    I would be interested if anyone else has had such a problem recently or any ideas concerning this strange response on IE7. I am talking about viewing the page on the server. Since this is a php page it can be viewed locally only if you have a server installed on your computer and I do not. The pages with the first url example given above have operated well on IE7, Firefox, Opera, Safari for Windows, Flock, K-Meleon, Google Chrome and SeaMonkey. There are a few players that have some issues with some of the formats, but this and the fact that some players may not be installed is the reason for offering the video in 4 formats. I sometimes offer high broadband versions as well as low broadband versions.
    It seems I spend more time correcting IE issues than for all of the other mentioned browsers combined.

    Thanks for the reference. I use nearly no JS anymore, since it often causes problems with true xhtml served properly even when you use external script files. Often one can use php script on the server and avoid these problems. When one serves as true xhtml using the correct mime type of application/xhtml+xml, the page is parsed with a very strict xml parser rather than a loose-as-a-goose html parser. (If one serves a page written in xhtml code as mime text/html, as is incorrectly done perhaps 99% of the time, you are using only html, not xhtml, and are fooling only yourself. The page is parsed as html instead of xhtml.) The xml parser has to be very strict to account for any possible xml content. Even a single, or even several, errors often will not prevent a html page from showing, but even a single error on an xhtml page served properly will often get an error report from the xml parser rather than a view of the page. One of the most laughable examples of misunderstanding of this issue is the home page of Microsoft. It claims to be xhtml. However it is served as text/html and thus would be better written in html 4.01 in the first place. Moreover, if you validate the page as xhtml at w3c, you find hundreds of xhtml errors. If Microsoft served their home page properly as application/xhtml+xml it of course would not work on any IE browser, at least through IE7, since none of these IE browsers can handle true xhtml. In addition the page likely would not show up on any browser if served as true xhtml until all of the hundreds of xml and other errors on the page were corrected. Instead, one likely would get a very long error report rather than a view of the page.
    Back to JS, document.write will not work in properly served xhtml, because it easily could produce code with XML errors. For instance it might produce code that contains an unclosed tag, which is a major xml error that can cause an xml device to malfunction. The xml parser thus rightly finds document.write as an error and prevents viewing of the page. However one often can generate the same code as document.write would produce on a browser with php on the server. The finished code is what gets downloaded to the browser, so the xml parser can check everything in the finished code rather than quess what a JS document.write might produce. And don't think you can sweep document.write under the rug by using an external JS file. The very strict xml parser finds it.
    Of course embed has never been a w3c tag, but rather is a bad hangover from the browser war era, a gift of Netscape. No page that includes embed can validate as w3c xhtml or xml of any flavor, at least through xhtml 1.1. However the page may work, despite the error, if server as text/html.
    All I know is that something has happened recently that has caused my problem to surface. It likely has to do with some change in the XP OS or IE browser. I have tried viewing several pages written by others that use many types of code for .mov, and all of them I have viewed that use an ActiveX embed for the benefit of IE now have the problem I mentioned. If anyone else with XP and nearly all updates, including the very recent one I mentioned, and the most recent version of QT has had this problem, I could be more confident that the problem comes from an external source. If not, it is still possible the sudden change could be something concerning a specific issue that has developed in my computer.
    Again, thanks for the JS reference. Some of this likely can translate into php so I can compare how the JS and php server script I am using relate.

  • Sporadic Loss of Signal

    Every so often the signal from my WRT54G will be so that wireless devices lose connection. I've tried changing channels but I live in an area saturated with wireless routers so I'm not sure how much it helps. 99% of the time the router is fine and reaches all parts of the house with any problem so I know there's no issue with distance or obstrution. Sometimes I'll restart the cable modem and the router and that seems to help, maybe, but it's hard to tell. Any other ideas to troubleshoot? I wish I had a personal spectrum analyzer...

    If you have to power cycle the Modem and the Router both in order to get the connection back it may be possible that your modem is disconnecting you from Internet...Connect your computer straight to the modem and check if you face the same problem...If you get stable/constant connection then you need to upgrade the router's firmware...Download the firmware from here ,
    Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device: -
    Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
    Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
    Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
    Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router and check if you get a stable connection...
