thanks for the reply.  guess i'll have to do that.  apple, not really happy with what you've done with this latest update.  have not been able to enjoy my music in my car since the update.  most of us dont mind changes that progress timely, but this was much more than just a progression.  this was a complete change.  and not a good one, at all.  thanks to the two people that replied.  appreciate it.

Since iPLM failed to help try the following:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Open the library package like this.
    2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • Where's All My music gone?? Nooooo

    Hi,
Any help here will be more than appreciated.
My 30gb Ipod photo, had been playing up for a little while, by that I mean, it used to skip songs a lot and used to come up with that sad icon or folder icon.
Then one day, it decided to completely lose the plot. The ipod still starts fine and maintains it's charge fine, but there is no music on there. I had give or take 3000 songs on there, and somehow all of the music is gone. The thing is, on the 'about' title of the ipod and when i plug it into a computer, it says there is 17gb used and 11gb remaining. My photo's are still there (they would only be taking up 1 - 2 gb of space max), but just no music. So I presume it's still on there, but some reason i can't get to it. The painful thing for me is, my computer recently got stolen with ALL my music on there, so reloading the music on there is not an option. I have tried resetting it, disk mode and all other trouble shooting methods but to no avail.
Is there any suggestions about what my next options could be? Is there any option? Remembering, that my music is not backed up anywhere.
Thanks heaps to whoever helps me out.
    Cheers
    Tom

I'm having the exact same problem. I use a program called ipodrip to take songs from my iPod to my computer. If the iPod cannot be read my iTunes then an error message comes up in ipodrip and says something about hard ripping the music. Choose this option and it will start taking all the music from your iPod to your computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT3819 I have a new apple MacBook Pro. All my music is on my old computer and on my I-Pod. Can I use home sharing to transfer my music onto my new computer?

I have a new apple MacBook Pro. All my music is on my old computer and my i-pad. What is the easiest way to transfer my music onto my new
    computer?

    apps
If you have an iPod touch or iPhone with iOS 4 or later software, or an iPad, you can use iTunes to transfer files between your computer and an app on your device that supports file sharing.
You might want to do this if, for example, you want to save files you create on your device to your computer, or take files with you so you can use them when you’re away from your computer.
You don’t need to sync your device to transfer files, but your device needs to be connected to your computer.
For information about supported apps, see the documentation for your apps.

To transfer files from your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to your computer:
Connect your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select your device (below Devices), and click the Apps button.
Below File Sharing, from the list on the left, select the app on your device that you want to transfer a file from.
From the list on the right, select the file you want to transfer, and click “Save to.”
In the window that appears, select the destination where you want to save the file, and click Choose.
The file is saved to the selected destination on your computer.
SImport music and video already on your computer
If you have audio or video files on your computer, you can import them into iTunes so that they appear in your iTunes library.
    Hide
Here are ways to add items from your computer to your iTunes library:
Drag a file or folder from the Finder to the iTunes window.
If you add a folder, all the files it contains are added to your library.
In iTunes, choose File > “Add to Library,” locate a file or folder, and then click Choose.
By default, iTunes places a copy of each audio file in the iTunes folder (Home/Music); the original file remains in the current location. For information about adding an alias to the file (instead of creating a copy), see Add items to your library without copying them to your iTunes folder.

  • I was recently prompted to update my Itunes player to the latest version. I'm using Windows Vista. I was left with an error message MSVCR80.dll and consequently no new update. I uninstalled the old version and have tried to reinstall manually. No luck

I was recently prompted to update my Itunes player to the latest version. I'm using Windows Vista. I was left with an error message MSVCR80.dll and consequently no new update. I uninstalled the old version and have tried to reinstall manually several times. No luck. Consequently I have no player.
    Any ideas for a fix?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Since recent flurry of updates, all of which I applied, I can no longer sync photos to my iOS6 devices. Any thoughts

Since recent flurry of updates, all of which I applied, I can no longer sync photos to my iOS6 devices.
iTunes sync error at the photo sync step with an unknown error 1140.
I have restarted everything, unsynced & attempted re sync to no avail.
The photo sync screen only allows me to select the sync all option, the select specific events, albums etc . Choice is greyed out.
This is true for both my iPhone 4S and ipad2.

I think I have figured it out, and photos are syncing now.
Here is what I believe happened: There is an iTunes generated folder called "iPod Photo Cache" in my "Pictures" folder on my Airpot Disk. This folder gets generated by iTunes whenever you designate a location for syncing. The "iPod Photo Cache" folder contains a file called "Photo Database".
It looks like the "Photo Database" had been corrupted. Deleting this file, or alternatively, moving my pictures to a new folder and letting iTunes regenerate the Photo Database fixed the problem.

I'm 67 yrs. old.I live in the U.K. I want to use my credit in i-tunes to find the Yoga Studio app. for my MacBook Air laptop. All I can find are apps. for i-phones,i-pads and i-pods.Can anyone help please.

Apps for OSX aren't in iTunes: they are in the App Store in your Applications folder. The payment method is the one registered in iTunes. There's no app actually called Yoga Studio, though there are several Yoga apps. There is an iOS app called Yoga Studio but it appears to have no OSX equivalent, though I haven't done a detailed search.

  • When I plug in an USB stick, my MacBook Air disables all USB devices

When I plug in an USB device, my MacBook Air disables all USB devices and the keyboard. It looks like it would freeze, but all applications still work. It just does not respond to neither keyboard nor mouse. The only solution is to force-restart it. What can I do? I am using Lion and have updated it. The same error occured with Snow Leopard as well. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens and sometimes not. I have a suspicion it is related to the devices power consumption in corelation with the battery charging status.
I am using a MacBook Air 13", late 2010 version.

Have you tried plugging the flash drive into a different Mac to see if it works? The Air shouldn't have any problem with it, I use a couple of flash drives in mine, although I don't have a pq1. Did you try both USB ports on the Air? Do you have another flash drive you can test in the Air, or a different USB device, like a hard drive or printer?
The only thing I can think of is either a bad flash drive, or a bad USB port on the Air. Sorry, can't be more help than that.

  • Unable to sync Ical from Iphone 4 to MacBook since updating to Itunes 11.

I am unable to sync Ical from my Iphone 4 to MacBook since updating to Itunes 11. (and yes, the Iphone shows up as recognised in the sidebar and will sync Ical from Macbook to Iphone.) All ideas welcome.

If Damon's suggestion of resetting sync history doesn't fix the problem you most likely have a bad contact record in iCal. When they sync encounters the bad record it doesn't know what to do with it so it stops. To fix it you must find the bad record, open it, make a small change, and save it. An easy way to find the bad record is to create a new group and set the iPhone to sync to this group. Put a few records into the group at a time, then sync. At some point the sync will fail or hang. You have then narrowed the problem to a few records.

  • Airport Extreme with a USB Hard Drive to a store all iTunes music

Can you plug in a USB external Hard Drive to a Airport Extreme to store all iTunes music (or other files) and then access this from all wireless devices?

Yeah the backup is where I'm getting stuck. Seems just keeping the files on my local hard drive is the easiest but that would essentially require a new computer as I'm running a 2008 Macbook Pro and don't want to upgrade it.

  • I just installed Adobe Reader on my Macbook Air (followed all steps given) and still cannot read my .pdf files. Disappointed!
