Recent problem ripping

In the past month or so I've been ripping CDs from discs to replace songs I've downloaded off the internet. Problem is, on a CD with say, 4 songs, it might rip 2 or 3. I haven't seen this discussed in any other threads, what should I do?
Oh - I have a Zen Xtra 40 Gig player.

Do you think it's because you don't have enough room on your computer? a while ago i noticed that if songs are in mp3 format, they take up much less space on your computer...songs from audio cd's are usually bigger files...try deleting songs off of your library as soon as they're on your player. that way you have them, but they're not clogging up space on your comp. and you should be able to fit at least an entire cd at a time in your library.

One suggestion worked from the Firefox prints incorrectly link mentioned above by mha007. I'm thrilled since this has been annoying me for weeks. Thanks mha007!
Reset all Firefox printer settings

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

Problems ripping postscript files with cs4/no bleed?

I have having a problem ripping high res files to postscript and distilling not showing the crop marks, bleeds or any printer marks. On the export these are checked properly. A normal pdf export from CS4 works fine, but when I rip to ps and distill the marks are gone. I appreciate any help.

Is it possible you're just not printing to the right size page? What
page size is your ID document, and what page size is your PDF?
Why are you printing and distilling instead of just exporting PDF?

What happens when you try to reply... Do you get an error message, is there no send button, does a symbol appear?

What kind of CD are you burning (Audio or MP3)?
If you're burning an MP3 CD, the songs must already
be in mp3 format.
If not, iTunes will tell you that you have no songs
in the playlist.

I was making an audio cd. But I have since found out what the problem was. The files in my PLAYLIST I converted to aiff, since they were SDll files (I thought they were similar to AIFF, and they PLAY on Itunes...just won't burn.) When I selected the songs in the playlist and converted them...I thought all those files were converted, They were not. The converted files went into my LIBRARY, even tho I selected the ones in the playlist...and once I exchanged the SDll versions of the songs in my playlist. THEN they burned fine...but still...it's confusing..you say convert..it says it's been converted..and what they don't say is it's not been converted inside the playlist...where I had selected the songs...It just ADDED aiff versions..but only in the library...Anyway, that's what happened. But it's strange that it PLAYS SDll but won't burn them....and you'd think, logically..the ones you selected would change...but they don't. Playlists are mainly pointers to the actual files I guess...a sort of Alias..
At least it works now. But it's sad that the latest itunes does more, but also does LESS...as I used to be able to burn SDll files. Now I'll have to convert all my files to AIFF, and mp3's as I assume my ipod video won't play anything but mp3's?

If you can resolve #1 and still get same message for #1 then you have to restore the iPod like the message says.

Problem ripping CDs

I have a problem ripping (or importing, don't know the difference) some CDs with iTunes. It goes very slowly and the songs are disturbed (sounds like you're jogging with a disc man).
Strangely, I have this problem with all my Bruce Springsteen CDs (even soundtracks with one of his songs!), some classical and some Dutch CDs. I doubt if this has anything to do with copyright protection, because most of them are from the early 90s (and as far as I know, CDs weren't protected at the time).
I can rip these CDs with WMP, a little faster but also slower than other CDs, but I'm not sure if you can import WMA-files into iTunes and if this affects sound quality on my iPod.
Springsteen being (ironically) my absolute favourite, I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

Not sure what the issue with the ripping is but yes you can transfer unprotected wma files to iTunes for Windows. Simply add the folder the library (file>add folder) and iTunes will automatically convert the file

Problem ripping DVD with Arch

I have a big problem ripping DVD.
I try with K3B ---> when I select the tack to ripp and click right to select copy, I got a lot of message in the console where I lanch K3B and that's all. The memory stay stable, no swap, hard disk stay empty but dvd drive was working. I didn't wait a lot (few minutes) then I stop. Is this think normal ? Do I have to wait or there's a problem ?

I think that error is because fping is not suid. My /bin/ping is also suid, but dvdrip uses fping and you get a message like that if fping is not suid
dvdrip-master
will probably guide you to whatever is causing the error message.
Do not use divx codec if you have a p4, there is a bug and another error message. Xvid is better and it works but divx is set by default.
dvdrip, allows cluster ripping, if you want to rip on in the world, use that.

Recent problems occurring with new iPod Nanos as well?

Are the recent problems associated with the iPod firmware version 1.2 occurring with brand new Nanos, or are they only occurring with Nanos that were running previous versions that have been updated to the new version? I've been considering buying a Nano, but may reconsider if the problems are happening with new ones as well.

I bought a 2GB iPod nano over the weekend. It works great, as long as I don't try to put more than 215 songs on it. iTunes crashes and freezes my iPod every time I try to fill it up more than half way. Every crash requires a hard shut down on my mac and restoration of the iPod.

Problems ripping with an external DVD Burner

Recently I purchased a Liteon External DVD Burner off of newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106011) -- It's a Liteon SHW-1635SX -- I bought this because the DVD-ROM drive thats in my tower natively is REALLY slow and I wanted to get a new one that I could use with a laptop that I`m going to purchase in the future. Whenever I try to rip a CD into iTunes using the burner, It says that it's ripping the disk, however it doesn't spin up the cd and it takes about 2 seconds to "rip" all the songs. I know this drive is soposed to be faster than my old one, But two seconds is a little TOO fast. Plus, I know that it's not copying the songs because when I try to listen to them in my library, the song won't play. (Under time it says "789:54..." for all the songs on the cd, in my library) However, the burner rips perfectly in Windows Media Player... Is this perhaps some kind of glitch with iTunes??? Basicly, the only way I can rip a CD into iTunes is to use my old DVDROM drive, but that defeats the purpose... below is the CD Diagnostic log that I got from iTunes::::::::

hmmm. we'd better check on the usual suspects with that. (the incredibly long song times can also be associated with these sorts of causes.)
You can't import or play music from an audio CD in iTunes for Windows
... and the following resources might be helpful with that. (check on firmware and drivers even though it's a brand new unit.)

Having some problems ripping DVDs

I just recently bought a 30G 5th generation ipod. I downloaded Handbrake and it works great. I have already ripped several DVDs and transfered them to my ipod without any problems. However, there have been some DVDs that have problems with the audio. The video is fine, but there is static in place of any sound. I don't know if I need to adjust the Sample Rate or the Bitrate. Any suggestions?

Have youy tried:

button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
- Restoring the iPod from backup
- Restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
