Recent problem with i-Tunes on my computer

Can anybody help me?
I am still using OS X 10.1.5 (Thanks, I really know there are much newer an much better versions!) and installed iTunes version 4.7.1 a long time ago. I never had any problems with this version of iTunes on my computer and could buy, download and listen to any song I wanted.
Since iTunes 7.0 is on the market, I can not buy and download anymore. I am not interested in iTunes 7.0 (simply because my operating system is not "sufficient" enough), but I really would like to use my version 4.7.1.
This seems to be impossible. Each time I click the "buy" button, I automatically get switched to the apple store and I am asked to install version 7.0 of iTunes (which requires a higher OS X version than I have).
I have the feeling I am in a loop. Can anybody help me out? And I mean in another way than to tell me that I really should buy a more recent version of OS X.

Het vervelende (en logische) is dat er zo af en toe zaken veranderen die niet meer werken met oudere versies.
Kennelijk is nu iTunes 4.7.1 aan de beurt en 'obsolete' verklaard door Apple, hoewel oude versies (op één van mijn Macs draait iTunes 2.0.4 nog perfect onder OS 9.2.2) nog perfect werken.
Ook de beveiligingsschema's veranderen zo nu en dan.
Éénmaal met versie 6 of 7 gekochte liedjes zijn niet meer af te spelen met oudere versies.
Het is vast wel teleurstellend voor jou, maar je zult moeten upgraden om nog wat te kopen in de iTunes Store.

    I recently had problems with my Powerbook G4 and called Apple about it. Long story short, I had to erase and install Mac OSX thus erasing everything from my hard drive. I have around 2,000 songs and 1,300 pictures on my iPod that I need on my computer. Is there any way of doing this?

    Sorry I can't help with photos however there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve song files from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. I use Senuti but check the others out particularly if you need to move videos for which you' d need iPod Copy.

  • Problem with Elements 10 on my computer

    Hi - I upgraded from Elements 9 to 10 last year which started causing problems with my compter crashing. I stopped using it but after a recent trip overseas, reinststaed it in order to sort through my photos etc. It has caused problems immediately on my computer - any ideas what I can do to prevent thi?

    If your old hard drive is still available, you can boot your computer with it and deactivate it using Help> activation from the menu bar. Alternatively, you can initiate a chat with adobe customer service and ask them to deactivate you activations that you no longer use.
    Photoshop Elements allow two simultanous activations, so deactivating any of the previously activated copies would be fine

  • Sound problems with tv tuner

    so i got the tv@nywhere master for my birthday and had some blips with the installation (like the computer restarting itself for no reason) but now it seems to be running okay. except for the fact that my sound cuts in and out constantly. it'll be fine for a few minutes and i'll be able to hear and see the television show, and then suddenly all i'll get is static or nothing at all. if i switch channels or change from mono to stereo and back again the sounds usually kicks back in, but then it cuts out again shortly afterward.
    i'm running it on XP Pro, i have an ECS K7S5A motherboard, and i think it's just a SB16 sound card that i have right now. though i don't think it's a problem with the sound card because i'm able to pick up the radio stations from the tuner just fine with it, and i'm able to play mp3s without any problems.
    anybody have any idea what causes this, and what i can do about it?

    Have you installed the updated driver for the Master?
    Possibly there is an interrupt line conflict - try moving the card to another slot (just remember that slots 2 & 5 share the same line on your board).

  • Photoshop CC 2014 having a problem with display driver then crashes computer

    Since the Photoshop update in October most of the time when I open Photoshop CC 2014, either my computer crashes with the driver state power failure or the program is able to boot and provide an error message involving a problem with the display driver and then my computer crashes with the driver state power failure. I did not have this problem until the update in October. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz processor

    You need to update your video driver from the website of the manufacturer of your video card.  You cannot rely on Windows Update or Microsoft, which typically have outdated drivers.

  • 4g problem with skipping and connecting to computer

    I am having problems with the ipod skipping and not holding onto a song. This means on occasion I will start a song and the ipod will randomly jump to next song or start playing and then jump. The seek time for songs has also seemed much slower than normal. This happens about 60% of the time. I have done 4 or the 5 r's reset, reinstalled ituns and ipod updater, tried the usb over the firewire cable etc. The ipod will not let me reset through the computerand fails to mount properly. I have attempted to access the ipod through ipod updater, itunes, and windows xp and no luck. At the same time it continues to read do not dissonect, while continuously spinning the hd.
    I ran the internal dignostic on the ipod ( previous + select at the apple screen) to get the internal diagnostic. Accoring to this my hd is fine, and everything seems to test out normal. I am getting an occasional failure on the key test but it is inconsistant at best and can not be localized to one key. I have never noticed any scroll wheel problems
    Despite all this (firewire checks out too), I can not connect the ipod to the computer, and am still having the skipping problems, any other ideas please? I am getting frustrated and considering replacing rather than spending 150 to 200 to fix.

    I have encountered and come past a similar problem. At least the same error message. I encountered it when using iCal from a Mac though.

    1) I turned iCal and Webserver of
    2) I went into the place where calendars are stored (see Server admin, iCal and settings). There I found my down to calendars/_uids_ and deleted all contents. The same with principals/_uids_
    3) edit group and/or user prefs for calendareing in Workgroup Manager
    4) restart WebServer and iCal
    Works for me at least. Hope it helps.
    I will turn iCal and Webserver before editing user preferences in the future (if I remember).

    i have a problem with my FX5200 T-128, it hangs my computer.
    My system is
    Moderboard: AK75-ec from dfi.com
    Cpu: Amd athlon 1300Mhz
    memory: 512 sdram
    Some time the FX5200 works good, but many times it hangs when i am trying to play some games, some times it take few days and some time it hangs and hangs the system but after few mins it working again.
    i have checked everything Volts, drivers is up to date, upgrade moderboard bios, and everything i have tryid to reinstall xp pro but nothing helps.
    i have tryind to test it in other computer with other mainboards to but same there.
    any one can help me ?

    i have Nvidias newest driver installed, it hangs when it try to load the games.
    what more details do you need me to give ?
    and the cpu was a duron 1300mhz not athlon.
    memory 2 256mb Sdram pc133.
    operative system: win xp pro with sp2 before sp1 but same it hangs.
    i have tryid to reset all in bios and make the right settings there to but nothing.
    i have tryid to update bios on moderboard, and for the grafic card i already have newest bios update, i have tryid everything now :(

    I have WebDB 2.2 and Oracle8i instaled on the same computer. I have a problem to create site from another computer. There is not any process when I try to create site. There is always 0%.
    But I have no problem with creating site on the origin computer.

    I am just not clear what to do once I have made changes and have published the new information.
    You shouldn't have to do anything. iWeb will save the information in the Domain.sites file. You can keep this file in a folder, or even on your desktop and iWeb will launch from a double-click on the file.

  • Recent problems with Windows Update with Thinkpad 8

    Since last week I've started having problems with Windows Update on ny Thinkpad 8. It seems to be related with some recent update. At first I received different error codes. As I don't have many programs on my tablet, I refreshed it and set up Windows and Office again. I ran WU, and after the first update (with 100+ updates) WU was working ok. However, after a second set of updates (probably the most recent) I've started receiving error messages again. Most recently I am receiving code 80070002, and the error seems to affect only the installation of Windows Defender definitions through WU -- other WU updates install correctly, and most of the time I can install Windows Defender updates through Windows Defender. I have already tried the Windows Update Diagnostic tool, but the problem persists.

    I developed an Adobe AIR application and I want to give it
    to some users in order to do evaluation related to my research. I
    exported the project to air file and installed it on another
    computer. After running it an empty screen was shown, but not my
    application. It looks in the same way as in the design view of Flex
    Builder – empty. I tried the same for some other simple
    applications and I did not have that problem. The application I
    have problems with is in a few files and has about 4000 lines of
    code.

    Could the app. run correctly on your own machine after you
    exported the app.?
    You might need to make sure you package all the files you
    need into the AIR file.

  • Recent Problem with Grouping in P6

    Recently I am having a problem with the grouping activities option in P6, 8.2.  While I used to be able to group with no problem, now when I try to perform a customized grouping, I am not able to get to the grouping bands.  It seems like this is a P6 software bug, not a database bug.  Has anyone seen this problem before and if so, how did you fix it?

  • Problem with ichat, error message says computer does not support video chat

    I have never had a problem with Ichat until yesterday...now apparently I don't have the video capability.  I am running 10.7.2.  I turned off Facetime.  I now have the video camera image but it won't let me video chat.  Any ideas?

    In iChat open the Connection Doctor (Video menu) and the the Capabilities option
    Are all items showing Green ?
    Try restarting iChat (It re-reads the computers Ability at each launch)
    If that does not work try restarting the Computer.
    Make sure that in iChat menu > Preference > Video Section the Bandwidth Limit is not set to 100kbps (this is too Low for 1-1 video chats)
    Do a Speed test
    "Real World" speeds need at least 256kbps both up and down.
    Check the System Profiler is "seeing" the camera.
