Recent update has stopped my apps opening

Help. my beloved gen1 ipad will not open apps since I did the recent update. have tried a reboot and closed all open apps but nothing works. anyone have any ideas?

Try rebooting. Hold down the home button and on button for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears. The device will shut down and restart and then everything should work fine

Recent update has stopped mail from my ISP...

I started having a problem getting Plusnet emails on my Mac Mail app while still getting gmail ones. I was told by Plusnet that it was an ongoing problem to do with an Apple update that requires extra security. I contacted Apple, who helped me by remote assistance to rectify it. For future reference the fix that is needed for the Plusnet account (and any other account suffering similarly) in Mail is under the Advanced tab to have ‘Use SSL’ unchecked and ‘Allow insecure authentication’ CHECKED (I was told originally to ensure both were UNchecked).
This worked and I got my mail as usual. However, even though I click to save these settings, if Mail is turned off and on again, it reverts to the default setting and needs to be rechecked again. Anyone know why this is not saving and/or how I can get this to save permanently on Mail?

Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Advanced - uncheck Automatically detect and maintain account setting. Repeat for each account.

I have been experiencing the same problem. My mail app won't even open on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro. It will show as open, but the app will never actually show up.

ITunes has stopped working when open

I was using Windows 8 and recently updated to Windows 8.1 (Single Language). I never install iTunes during Windows 8. I tried to install the version latest version iTunes 11.1.2 today on my Windows 8.1, after installed, every time I open iTunes, it will stop working and I need to close it or debug it. I also tried install older version of iTunes 11.0.x but also same problem. I restarted PC also no help.

NOTE: AppData folder is invisible. You must allow to view hidden folder under folder option.
keep on uninstalling the iTunes and its components does NOT help

Help!! With Firefox's recent updates, I am unable to open the MP4 files I created in Camtasia and uploaded to Blackboard. I teach at St. John Fisher College.

The college where I work requests that we use Firefox and I am happy to do so. However, in the past few weeks, MP4 files that have worked fine are no longer working because something in Firefox's very recent updates keeps blocking them! I SO wish I had not downloaded your updates.
At St. John Fisher College we use Blackboard CMS. I created many MP4 instructional video tutorials using Camtasia. Our IT department uploads them to Ensemble, then onto our Blackboard courses. For months the videos worked perfectly in Firefox....but no more.
At this moment, every time I try to open them, I must click on the shield at the top left of the screen and disable the protectors.
Dozens of students are required to use these videos. It will be impossible for me to alert them as to the "workaround" that will allow them to watch the tutorials.
Alas, Firefox, always so sleek and easy to use, has become a burden to me:(

Can you convert the URLs for the MP4s to use HTTPS instead of HTTP? There are a couple of ways:
(1) If the URLs are hard-coded in each page, many manual edits.
(2) If an iframe is inserted by a script, edit the script.
As resources for students in case this can't be done easily/quickly, there is the Firefox support article, and there is an add-on which can temporarily allow Firefox users to disable mixed content blocking. Unfortunately, that is a global setting, not a site-by-site setting.

TS1702 I am updating my IPAD to version 5.1 and the update has stopped before completion. What is the procedure. If I stop the update or restart the IPAD will the update be corrupted and also the IPAD operating system.

I am updating a new IPAD to the latest version from ITUNES. The update is not complete and has stopped. What is the procedure to restart? If I close ITUNES i get a message that the IPAD is updating. Will closing the application cause the update to be corrupted and thus the operating system? Will the same occur if I power the IPAD down or disconnect it vis the USB port?

You may also want to go to:
~/Library/iTunes/
This is done by going to the "Go" in the Finder and select Go To Folder. Copy and paste:
~/Library/iTunes/
In to Go To Folder selection. Look for a folder called iPad Software Updates. Delete anything in that folder and re download the upadate.

Adobe reader has stopped working when opening tracker [vista & reader x]

Hello all,
I'm a developer and im constantly uninstalling and reinstalling reader x and acrobat pro x, but i typically have both installed. Recently, i uninstalled both reader x and acrobat x via Add/Remove Programs in windows Vista, and then later reinstalled them both, and now when i click the adobe tracker icon in my systray, it says adobe reader has stopped working. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling and then rebooting, but that doesn't seem to help. Event viewer says:

This is strange. Can you try a couple of things:
1. Try launching Tracker in Acrobat. In Acrobat X, you will find it in Comment pane->Review->Track Reviews
2. Launch Reader in non-sandbox mode. For this, launch Reader and uncheck the option 'Enable Protected Mode at startup' in Reader Preferences->General. Close and re-launch Reader. Now launch Tracker.
Does it still crash in both the cases?

Recent update has resulted in poor sound quality

Recent update from apple has spoilt sound quality. Any one else have same problem

I had poor music sound quality, ect, after installing Update 7.1.1. Issue was resolved by holding down Homebutton and power on/off button simultaneously until Apple logo appeared. Sound quality now perfect from my mini iPad .

My iPhone has stop download Apps, songs is fine.

What happens after you select an app to be downloaded direct with your iPhone? Any error message provided? Does the download begin but is not completed? Are you able to download apps with iTunes on your computer?

Have you tried rebooting your machine? Are you multitasking and running out of RAM perhaps? Reboot the machine and check to see if it works again.
If that doesn't work, go into system preferences and check your keyboard shortcuts.

My iPOD 30 GB classic has no sound. Screen shows music is playing but cannot hear it. This happenend last fall, and then in december it started playing again. Recently it has stopped playing again. What causes this?

My IPOD 30 GB classic has no sound. THis problem started last summer intermittently. THen in December it started playing again and did so for about 3 months without a problem. Again, recently the sound stopped coming from the ipod. I usually use a BOSE docking station that seems to be working fine. THe screen indicates that the songs are playing, but there is no sound, either thru headphones or on the docking station. I have reset, rebooted and restored and still no sound. What causes this to happen and is there a fix?

Which version of iTunes are you using?
What is the iPod software number as shown in the iTunes Summary windows?
If both the soundock and the earphone has no sound after the HardReset, then I think you Audio chip has been fried.
But please try this Hard Reset again
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.
Test the sound again.

Recent iphone software update has stopped my iphone4 chrging while in my Bose SoundDock]

It used to work fine but when Apple pushed 4.3.4 all of a sudden i get "this appliance will not charge your device"

Even though it gives me a nice yellow tirangle with a warning message this device does not support charging, it charges.

The last update has squashed my apps!

Hi, I just updated my iPad 2 to iOS 7.0.3 and it looks like all the apps have been squashed upwards. There appears to be a gap between the bottom of the screen and the favourite apps which used to sit at the bottom. Help!

Also, when I open an app, it opens up centred on the top right corner, with a gap along the left and bottom of the screen. These gaps last for about a second, then the app fills up the screen as normal. How peculiar!
