  • Recently added playlist is gone.. how do i get it back?

i accidentally deleted my recently added playlist and i dont know how to get it back. I would just make a new one but it wouldn't take of the "older" songs as time went on. Please help me figure this out.

Use the iTunes File menu > New smart playlist.  The rules shown below are the rules used in the original recently added playlist, but you may change them if you wish.

  • Recently Added folder gone?

I accidentally deleted the Recently Added folder. How do I get it back? Hopefully I don't need to reinstall the entire iTunes program?
    ibook G3   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    It's just a smart playlist.
    To re-create it:
Create a new Smart Playlist (File menu).
Set the rule: Date Added - is in the last - 2 weeks
These are the default settings; you can change them if you like.
    Check 'live updating'.
    Hope this helps.

  • Recently Added Playlist Gone

I just upgraded to iTunes v9.0.3.15 for Windows 7 and since the upgrade, the Playlist for recently added items has disappeared from iTunes and my iPod. Anyone know if there is a way to restore this playlist, it wasn't a user playlist, it came from Apple. Thanks.

It was just a smart playlist of music add in the las x number of days.
You can make a smart playlist that does this and name it recently added.

  • Why are my videos showing up in "Recently Added" but not in TV Shows or Movies?

I didn't have a problem adding videos to iTunes for several months, but now videos are not appearing in the right places. For some reason, they appear in the Recently Added playlist, but they are not showing up in the Movies section (which is where they had all gone before). The video plays fine if I play the file from Recently Added.
The files are mp4 format converted with Handbrake, which I have used for a long time without issue.
    2011 iMac OSX 10.7.3 & iTunes 10.6.1 (7)
My research into the issue has found that some users experience metadata info missing from files. I ran some of the recommended programs that automatically add metadata to videos, but still had no luck adding. The issue is with every single mp4 file I add, and it just suddenly started.
If I click "Get Info" on a file, they are listed as being sorted as a Movie. If I change it to TV Show or Music Video then click OK, no changes are saved and file goes no where.
I get no Error Message when adding to iTunes.
I hope I have provided enough information. I'm eager to hear your answers!

    Update:
Still having issues getting new videos to show in the "Movies" or "TV Shows" categories of iTunes. However, last night I discovered that Home Sharing on my iPad lists the newly imported videos in the Movies category (iPad & Video app). So, the files aren't corrupt or anything like that. It just seems like I need to 'refresh' the Movies page. Is that possible?
Since I can see the files on the iPad now, I want to remove the extra copies of movies I imported. But, since I can only find them in Playlists, how can I delete them?

  • TS3988 How do I get more iCloud devices.  I recently added Apple TV to my devides and I have already have 5 devices registered to iCloud.

I recently added Apple TV to my home network and it works fine however I want to use it directly from iCloud since i carry my Mac Book Pro away from my home network.  Now it seems that you can only register 5 devices to iCloud so when the computer is not on the network the purchased items are not available to the Apple TV.  Is there a way to register more than 5 devices to iCloud through iTunes?

I'm not sure.  There is a set of devices that have access to your iTunes library through iCloud and the limit is 5.  However, I have the Apple TV working with one exception, the shows & music still need to have my Mac in the network to play.  There doesn't seem to be a play from iCloud.  Or am I expecting too much.  I of course purchase things from the iTunes and when I do on one of the devices it downloads but if those devices are not on my LAN will they still be available to the users while it's gone.  I guess one way to do it is set a single device as a master iTunes device that is not mobile.
I could be over thinking this.  I am an old PC user that has been converted to all Apple.

  • HT1844 Library Issue:  I just imported 2 CD's into ITunes.  They show up in "Recently Added" and on my other devices via ITunes Match, but NOT in the ITunes software on the computer where I added them.

Library Issue:  I just imported 2 CD's into ITunes.  They show up in "Recently Added" and on my other devices via ITunes Match, but NOT in the ITunes software on the computer where I added them.  They show up in the search box, but when I click on the results it just kicks me to ALL my music.  I have imported thousands of songs/CD's before and this is a new one.

Something may have gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Making another change to the library such as downloading the current iTunes Free Single of the Week, or deleting one track from your library and reimporting it, should fix the problem.
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up which ought to correct things.

  • How to transfer images from Recently added in iOS8?

    Hi
when I used to download images on my iPad or iPhone, they went to camera roll and they were easy to transfer to iMac with Image Capture when connected with USB. Now Camera Roll is gone in iOS 8 and Image Capture does not see the images on Recently Added. How to transfer images to iMac now under iOS8? I am completely at a loss. How can this be so poorly instructed - I find no info on this and I am sure I am not the only one struggling with this.
Thanks a lot for any help!
    Timo

You can directly transfer photos and videos via WiFi between the iDevices, PCs, and Macs with an App like Photo Transfer.
    See: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-transfer-app-easily/id365152940?mt=8
Or you can upload the photos and videos to the Dropbox service using the Dropbox App on the iDevice, PC, or Mac and download them to the another device using the Dropbox App on that device. By the way, once the videos are on Dropbox you can share them with others.

  • How to find recently added songs in my library

I have added 3 CDs to my iTunes library on my computer. The music can be found in "Recently Added" Playlist, but NOT in my Library.  How do I make sure that the music makes its way to the Library. Also, even though I have iCloud activated I cannot find the music on my iPad.

Something has gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Download the current iTunes Free Single of the Week. I know it sounds odd, but it should fix the problem.
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up.

  • Recently added photos/movies missing after closing iPhoto '09

I have iPhoto '09 (8.1.2 (424) running on an Intel iMac Core (1) Duo with Snow Leopard, all software updates current. Tonight I went to add several photos and movies to my iPhoto library (19,000+ photos). They imported fine. I moved some around with respect to events, fixed some dates, but did no photo edits. Then I closed iPhoto. When I opened it back up, all of the recently added photos were gone. The "Last Import" said "(0)". I found the photos/movies sitting in my iPhoto library in the file structure and could open them up and view them with Preview or Quicktime, respectively. But iPhoto didn't know they were there. I tried to drag and drop them into iPhoto again and it wouldn't let me, saying they are already in the library. I was able to reimport from the original location on my desktop and after closing and re-opening, same thing, no photos in iPhoto but another copy of them in the "iPhoto Library package > Originals > 2011 > ..."
This is repeatable. I can delete the folders I added then reimport and after closing and re-opening, nothing. I've rebuilt the library 2 times using command+option with all options selected except "rebuild from automatic backups." I can drag just one image into iPhoto from the bunch and it disappears to after a close+reopen. I have not yet tried to do a camera-based import. These are files on my desktop.
Lastly, I think this may be a red herring, but I just recovered from a HD crash last week. I got a new HD installed by professionals and did all the new installs to Snow Leopard and restore from my time machine backups myself. Everything looks/works like it did before the crash, except one of the user's (4 of us on this machine) desktop was missing their background pic and had to re-add it. All the other user's desktop pics were fine. This desktop pic was associated with the iphoto library I'm having the problem with. I just realized after talking with my wife that all the pictures she has added since the crash have had the same behaviour and are sitting in the iphoto library package but are not in the iPhoto library "viewer" when iPhoto is open.

    The Library database is corrupted.
Best option: restore from back up. Otherwise:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
    Regards

  • Photos missing from Recently Added, Collections after IOS8 update

After I uptaded my IPad Air to IOS 8, photos were missing from Recently Added and Collections. (I understand Camera Roll and Photo Stream are gone.) My Recently Added photos dated to June (it's September) and my shared IPhone photos were missing from both the Collections/Moments where everything is supposed to be  now. Photos In Last Import are also from June. I was fumbling through the Comminties threads and found a partial solution on a related IPhone thread. I can't figure out how to link to it, but someone called Apple tech and they suggested going to Settings/Photos & Camera and toggling My Photo Stream off and then on again. I was reluctant to do this since a pop-up warns that all photos in your stream will be deleted. But as soon as I did it, aphotos started downloading to the Recently Added. They're out of chronological order, and there are duplicates, but at least they haven't all disappeared. (Also, not w complaint, but my Recently Added goes back to 2011, not 30 days.) Photos are still missing from Last Import and Collections. Any other ideas? At least now this feels recoverable, I'll put everything in Albums quick.

  • On MacBook 10.6, in iTunes 10.3.1, music downloaded from CD, copied from Recently Added, pasted into named New Playlist Folder, is displayed there but can then disappear from this folder. What am I doing wrong?

QUESTION:     On MacBook 10.6.7, in iTunes 10.3.1, music downloaded from CD, copied from Recently Added, pasted to named New Playlist Folder, is displayed as a list but can later disappear. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi, Mylenium,
Thanks for your prompt reply, I'm afraid it hasn't helped. I don't see anything wrong in my device manager.
I have also gone and updated every driver, especially the motherboard chipset and the Sata Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver.
Unfortunately, this hasn't made any difference.
    Any other suggestions?
    Many thanks in advance!

Hello everyone,,can someone please tell me if its me or iTunes,,that my Recently Added playlist is gone or missing,I have uninstalled iTunes and Reinstalled it,and it still does not show up,I know that when I started out it was there,I think everyone who gets iTunes at first has that in their Playlist section, which tell you which songs you recently added...Thanks to whoever and all who looked at my Post for help.thx

You can recreate Recently Added in iTunes by going to File>New Smart Playlist and making a Smart Playlist with the following rule: "Date Added"-"Is in the last"-"1"-"Day"
Put a tick in the "Live Updating" box as well. You can amend the period to however many days you choose
