Recently bought logic pro 9... blah blah... very upset. From the UK
Sorry to start yet another topic about this but im struggling.
Does anyone know the best department for me to PHONE in the UK.
I've tried several different departments and each time havent gotten anywhere. I keep being navigated to the email service. (which I've already used and not had much luck)
Many people on here have said not to bother emailing and to use the phone to request a refund but as of yet no one has even been close to being able to help.

It's possible the refunds were a mistake to begin with... and no, there are not preferred customers in different locations that I'm aware of.

From what I understand, (this from the developer's grapevine) Apple wasn't prepared for all the people demanding upgrades and a few people were lucky enough to have a recent Logic 9 purchase refunded so in essence Logic-x was free. A communiqué from the Apple main office at Apple nixed ALL refunds, you have to purchase Logic 10 at the App store price.
The problem with the refunds is it left users with a working version of both 9 and 10 while only paying for one, this goes against the EULA so Apple put a stop to it.
However.. If you're using email to discuss a refund...stop! I would call them directly.
Don't yell at me, I'm just passing info along and won't be upgrading anytime soon, if at all.
Also, the refinds that were issued were through App Store Support.

Although there will be many here that will sympathise with your situation, this is a user to user forum. Apple don't come here. The store (if you go to apple.com) now do real time chats. Failing that you'd need to call them to sort your issue out.

Can someone help? I feel bummed and a bit ripped off. I'd like to have Logic Pro X now, with all it's nice new features. I bought Logic 9 in May and haven't had time to even look at it. You think apple will offer people like me a refund? I hope so. I just don't feel it's right to charge so much for the upgrade.

Part of this is incorrect...
Some App Store employee's "accidentally" (but in good faith) issued refunds to a few users who had purchased Logic 9 within 30 days prior to the mid-July release of Logic-X. Word quickly came down from Apple HQ that this was against App Store policy and the practice was immediately stopped.
To the original poster.. you never stood a chance, even if they were issuing refunds you didn't fall within the 30 day period. There were many who purchased Logic 9 a few days before the LX release who did not get a refund. -

I recently fixed my computer and need to reinstall logic pro 9 but I can't find the booklet with my serial number, is there any other way I can get the serial number for logic pro 9 (box)?
If you still have the receipt or other proof of purchase, you can ask Apple to send you the serial. Otherwise, bad luck mate.. Good news is, you can now buy Logic Pro 9 from App Store for just 199 USD

I JUST, 9 July 13, bought Logic Pro... Any change Apple will allow for some type of upgrade to Pro X, since we had NO Fore Knowledge of its release...

I'm just saying that there is/was another copy of Logic on that computer at one time, the app store version does not require a serial however... if a previous version was on the machine I think even the app store version will ask for a serial... is that what's happening? -

Recently bought a Pro. At home, it connects to wifi and internet just fine. On the road, it connects to wifi sites, but willl NOT connect to the internet, while Other devices, iPad2 and iPhone connect and browse just fine.

I have recently bought quicktime pro and the installation instructions tell me to go to utilities then to quicktime pro icon. But I don't have a quicktime icon at all in my utilities. Help?

I already bought logic pro 9 but now i have a new apple id, do i have to pay logic pro 9 again or not?? Or if i save it on a disk can i re-draw it into my macbook?
You can also contact Apple directly providing proof (The original receipt) you bought it originally on a different Apple ID and under certain circumstances they will transfer the App you bought over to your new Apple ID
You will probably also need to know what the older Apple ID was, along with other information used with that account (Like the credit card used for example)
Call them and see what they say once you have all your information together...
An alternative if you are running iOS8 on any of your devices or Yosemite or Mavericks.. on a Mac, is to simply add the old Apple ID your Family Sharing account.. using your new Apple ID as the master account... then every app you bought under the old Apple ID (if it is still active) will be available to download under your new one...

I recently bought an ipad 2 and wanted to use all the apps on my iphone4 on my ipad but have been charged for the first app I downloaded when I use the same apple id. What should I have done to share the apps and should I have been charged? 2 months ago when I got a new iphone, i was told in order to get all my apps back as I hadn't backed up my files, if I used the same apple id I would 'purchase' the app, but then would not be charged as apple would recognise that I have already purchased the app. That worked, but when I did the same thing on my ipad 2 using the same apple Id, I was charged... what should I have done and is this right as I thought the whole point of having multiple apple devices was I could share apps between devices. please help! thanks.
Using the same Apple id and Password you should be able to download purchased apps without being charged again.

I have an iPhone and recently bought an iPod 4 touch what l am using the same apple ID for. The iPod won't let me download songs from iTunes it is asking me security questions which I don't think I have put answers to in the first place, because of this it won't let me buy any songs on iTunes
It's probably asking you to verify the security code found on the back of your credit card.

I installed Lion OS X and Logic Pro won't run. I downloaded the 9.1.5 update: "An Eligible Logic Pro Version Was Not Found in the Applications Folder. This Update require Logic Pro Version 9.0 or higher". I have Logic Pro Version 9.1.1 installed.
I even pulled the dmg file into the Logic Studio folder in my applications directory and it still does not recognize it. What do I do now?Niel: Thanks.
For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder. It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works. Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution: I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm. -
