Recently formatted my machine

I own a touchsmart 610-1190f, i formatted the hard drive.
I no longer have my drivers, which ones should i download? I use to have popups when i change volumes and i had HP software istalled, i really want this back to enjoy my home theater experience.

Here is the Software & driver download page for the computer. If you did a System Recovery you can get the necessary drivers in the Drivers-Original section.

Wiping the drive does indeed delete the OS. Try this -
Boot to the Lion (10.7.4 is Lion not Mountain Lion) recovery partition by restarting the computer and holding down the command and R keys during startup.
If this works, reinstall from here. You must be connected to the Internet to do this.
If this does not work, possibly because you reformatted the recovery partition as well, you will need to reinstall from your original disks (assuming it came with 10.6 or earlier.) Boot to the disk by holding down the C key during startup and run the installer.

Recently formated, now ipod wont connect!

I recently formated my pc and now when im trying to connect my ipod to itunes, It doesnt connect no mather how long i let it plugged. When i plug it, my computer does say new software found (Ipod) but it just wont connect to itunes so i can put new songs to replace old ones.
When i try to formate to factory settings or updates, says its not contected evan though it is.
I tried to connect it with the usb wire that came with it and with my firewire that came with my Ipower.
It worked very well before I reformated my pc, is there anything i can do?

I didnt until this morning, what I did last night is I left my coputer opened. Now im guessing it fully charged my ipod to the max (says soemwhere something like takes 13 hours to charge it to the max) And this morning i check on itunes and I saw my ipod on my itune.
I dont know if it will work with you, i know many have the same issue and it could ne worth trying.

How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Automated convertion of AppleWorks files to more recent format?

Hi,
I had used AppleWorks extensively in the past and still have masses of documents in AW format (both the most recent one and the previous one). The bulk of those files are text with limited formatting, but some have a layout.
Is there a way to automatise the conversion of those documents to a more recent format such as Apple Page or Microsoft Word? Something using AppleScript maybe? I'm getting worried that if I keep those files in AW format there will soon come a time where I won't be able to read them anymore; already the AW5 files cannot be read by Page, meaning I'm dependant on AppleWorks 6 running in Rosetta to read them. Who said preserving documents in the digital era would be easy?
I'm a CS student, so solutions requiring a bit of programming are fine.

Back from where?
You choose to not copy them off to a computer as they are designed to be.
If they are no longer showing in iCloud, they are gone.

ITunes skips after recent format/partitioning

I'm having a slight issue with itunes skipping at the moment, I recently formated my 90gb 5400rpm Hard drive (which I think may be the issue) into four partitions:
50gb - Vista (NTFS)
30gb - Shared Files (NTFS)
10gb - Ubuntu (xfs3)
My iTunes libary (8gb) is stored on the 30gb shared partiton, where it was previously stored on the one partition I had before, (No linux).
Does having your music on a seperate partition affect the read speed?
I'm using the latest version of iTunes and MS Vista is fully up-to-date.

If you want to roll back to 11.4 uninstall all iTunes/Apple components, restore the pre-upgrade version of your library as described inEmpty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash, then download and install from one of these direct links:

If you used your 10.6 install disk to wipe the drive completely:
Then your going to have to install 10.6, Software Update to 10.6.8, go to the AppStore and log in with your AppleID and hold on option key while clicking on Purchases to redownload the Lion installer like you did before.
When you install OS X Lion it creates a hidden partition on the drive that you can hold command and r (option) keys down while booting to load it, it's called Recovery HD.
It has Disk Utility which can erase the Macintosh HD and also install Lion again from Apple's servers with your AppleID and password.
Your AppleID ties you to the install OS X, because it was used to purchase it earlier from AppStore.

Formatting Time Machine Drive

I recently upgraded to a larger harddrive and want to turn my old one into a time machine. I accidentally made it the time machine drive before I formated the drive to ExFAT to erase all my data. Now it says that I can't format it because it can't unmount the drive. I tryed just deleting all the files but it says that backups can not be modified. How do I erase all the files off of my drive?

Are you sure you started up from Recovery HD?

Quit FaceTime if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A folder should open. If it does, look for a file with a long name that begins "com.apple.FaceTime". Enter Time Machine and restore it from a snapshot.

If this is the state your Firefox is in, I'd also say you need to update windows and other programs on your machine too

I recently formatted my PC, I have lots of songs on my iPod which i don't want to lose, how do it put them onto the computer?

I have formatted my PC and I don't have my songs on it anymore, but all my music is on my iPod. Is there any way I can copy those files onto the computer without losing anything?
When I try synching my iPod it tells me that all data will be lost, so I don't know what to do!

- Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of thse discussed here:
Copy music
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by righ clciking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does noytinclude synced media like apps and music.

Recently formatted Hard Drive. What will Time Capsule restore?

I had a problem and ended up having to reformat and reinstall Leopard on my MacBook Pro. I have been using Time Machine with my Time Capsule for months now. I'm wondering, when I connect to it and try to restore, will I run into issues? I haven't had to restore anything yet. I did some searching and read that some people had problems accessing the backups because the new system stated that it could not access the backup because it was for another computer. I sure hope not.
I'm just curious as to what I should expect when I get home and try to restore from my backup. I hope it's as easy as Apple makes it seem.
If you've experienced it and could give me some pointers or heads up that would be great.

Use this command in terminal to Show alll files.
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
Hit the enter key once entered into the terminal window.
Delete that whole folder to regain the space.
You might want to download EasyFind as it will find every file or folder you are searching for. The Built in Spotlight won't.
You may also want to download Omni Disk Sweeper which will list all folders and give you the space they are using on the drive.
It is covered in my first reply. Boot to the Recovery HD, Command+r keys at startup, Select Restore from TM backup. You may have to first erase the Macintosh HD partition using Disk Utility from that same Recovery HD boot.

I wanted to know if there is a way to restore my tabs before the format of the computer (Ive had a lot of them and its very important) from the backup file or an other way

The currently open tabs are stored in the sessionstore.js file, so you need to restore a backup of that file to get back the tabs.
