Recently Installed Adobe 9 Pro Wont Create/Write Pdfs (only read them...)

Windows XP where Version 8 was first completely removed then Adobe 9 Pro was installed. The XP machines can no longer write/create pdfs whereas previously with v8 there were no issues. No pop error message...simply the pdf generation process does not start or complete. Strangely, there are no relevant entries in the application or system event viewer logs either. Has anyone else experienced this? Have you found a solution?

You did not indicate how you are trying to create the PDF. Open a document in an application and select the print to the Adobe PDF printer. Before printing, select print-to-file and then complete the process (be sure you note where the file went and the name). Start Distiller and open the file you just created in Distiller. If that creates the PDF, then check for AcroTray running in the background. If it is not running, then start it.

on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Adobe
and delete the "Acrobat" folder found in
on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Preferences
on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\
on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
Then launch Acrobat. It will go through the first launch experience of asking for UI language, AdobeID, etc.
If there's no change in behavior, please attempt to go to:

If you can't get to this website there may be a firewall or other software blocking the connection. Acrobat must be able to reach this https URL and 3 others in order to complete and monitor the subscription/trial process.

Recently installed Acrobat XI pro on Windows 8.1, won't let me feed into scanner, forces me to scan pages one by one, how do I solve this?

I recently installed acrobat xi pro on windows 8.1. When I try to scan to create a pdf, it won't feed, instead it directs me to custom page and makes me create page by page. It's not a problem with my computer. How can I solve this? JK in Houston

Since you're using Acrobat on Windows, you can set up a scanning preset that uses the scanner's TWAIN driver. When the automatic document feeder is loaded, use the preset to have Acrobat "talk" to the scanner. For information about setting up presets, see Acrobat Help | Scan documents to PDF.

Adobe PDF 9.0 shows up under Printers and Scanners (Mac OS) after re-installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0

- recently re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 on my new Mac (OSX version 10.9.3)
- after re-installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 an icon called Adobe PDF 9.0 shows up under Printers and Scanners
- every single time I want to scan, my printer/scanner Brother automatically chooses Adobe PDF 9.0 as printer/scanner, although my printer/scanner Brother is set as standard printer/scanner
- did bring the issue under attention of Customer Service who directed me to this website

Acrobat 9 has not been tested and is unsupported Mac Mavericks.
You might face compatibility issues with it.

Thanks for posting that screenshot. It appears that you have opened your Sequence Settings for a DV-NTSC sequence and have made a circle around the "Edit Settings" button.
Since you chose to create a DV sequence, you cannot change those settings.
Do you have DV NTSC clips? If so, these are the correct settings.
If you do not have DV NTSC clips, do not be concerned. Just create the sequence.
Once you drag a non-DV clip into the DV sequence, it's OK.
You have the option of changing the Sequence Settings to match those of your clip in a new dialog box.
Click "Change Sequence Settings" in the dialog box.

Adobe Acrobat Pro XI problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and am having problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD. Printing other PDF created by MS Word works well. Had a similar problem in an earlier version of Pro. The fix I figure out then was to print the PDF file as another PDF. Using the second PDF to print to a plotter typically worked. It does not work for Adoabe Acrobat Pro XI.

Can't install Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

I purchased CS5 about 18 months ago and have recently had the need to install Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, which came with it. However, the disc isn't being read and I can't find anywhere to download Acrobat Pro 9 in order to use the serial number. Please advise! I need it quite urgently.

I am in the same situation. I have a legal copy of Adobe Acrobat Preo 9, but can no longer read the disk I made when I first downloaded it. I downloadeD Adobe Acrobat 9 extended and tried a friends copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 standard. Neither of them would accept my seria number, which I downloaded from My Adobe. Dealing with Adobe is ftustrating.

Installing Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 on my new Winows 7 computer and get an error 1311.source file not found. The last file shown on the addy is Data1.cab. Does anybody have an idea why that program will not install? Thanks........

If you are using a Mac, simply hit Command-Spacebar to bring up Spotlight Search. Begin typing the name of the application and when you see what you are looking for, press enter. You should get a hit by the second or third letter you type. Great way to launch apps on computers that you are not familiar with.
Windows 7 and 8 should have something similar. I think you simply press the Windows key and begin typing. Press enter when you see a match.
Both Mac and Windows search tools can be customized to search for applications, files, emails and so forth. For Windows, look for Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. For Mac, go to Preferences Spotlight. Turn off items you know you won't need to speed up searches.

Installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on a new laptop, but it doesn't accept my serial number

On my old laptop I had installed and licensed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I retired my old laptop and bought a new one. I want to install Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 now on the new one. But seemingly my serial number is not accepted any more. That's what I did so far
1. Downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-8-9-product-downloads.html
2. Retrieved my serial number from Adobe ID (it matched what I have found out locally on my old computer)
2. Started the installation
3. Entered my serial number when asked for. Then I get a message "Invalid Serial Number"

Finally if you have a volume license for Acrobat 9 Professional then the installation files are only available at https://licensing.adobe.com/. Post the PDF files to a web site. The browse to them in Safari on the iPad. When you Open the files specify the Open to occur in Adobe Reader. Then you can have/Save them in your Documents folder on the iPad. An iPad has limited access to files otherwise.

Error 1714 Message when Installing Adobe XI Pro

I am trying to install Adobe XI Pro, but it will not install. The error message is 1714 - the older version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro can't be removed. I tried uninstalling all other Adobe Programs but it will not uninstall, saying The patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it or contact the app. vendor to verify it is valid. What does this mean? How can I successfully uninstall the old version and install the new version?
