Recently lost the ability to Stream Video using homesharing from Macbook to apple tv (2nd Gen). Audio still streams normally.

I use my Macbook to regularily download a video podcast overnight and then use Homesharing to stream it to my apple TV in the morning. Within the past couple weeks that function has stopped working properly. I get the spinning wheel from my Apple TV as it trys to stream or buffer the video file but it never loads. Audio files on the other hand still work perfectly fine.
I've opened the TCP and UDP ports on my router and tried a different router thinking that was the problem to no avail.
Any Suggestions?

I believe what I'm reffering to is homesharing but please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm using the "Computers" app on the apple TV to stream Podcasts from my macbook Itunes Library.

I recently upgraded to itunes 11.0 but now I seem to have lost the ability top play video podcasts, movies or even see trailers in the itunes store movie section. I did install an application called eyetvreporter to try to recover the activation code for eyetv shortly after installing itunes 11. I am not sure this had any effect because Ii can still see the eyetv on the computer. I have reinstalled os X from the recovery partition and reinstalled itunes 11.0. I have no idea how to reset iTunes to allow me to watch videos.

Strange! I changed the screen resolution, deleted the eyetvreporter, rebooted and the video came back. The problem is solved but not understood.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

Have you repaired permissions and restarted your computer after installing ML? Checked your printer settings in System Preferences?
If Software Update does not list any updated drivers for your model printer, you should go to the printer's manufacturer website and download the drivers from there and/or contact their tech support to determine if your printer is compatible w/ML.
Read the various Knowledge Base ML printing articles. Here are a few to get you started:

I seem to have lost the ability to sync video playlist and loop it

I had to replace the airport card in my original AppleTV, reset to factory settings and upgraded to the latest version of the AppleTV software and now I can sync the videos (QT versions of Keynote presentations that we loop and play on a big screen in the entry hall of the church) but I can't see the playlist they they are in and don't see how to loop them. Was this changed in the latest version of the AppleTV software? If so, is there a way to go back to a previous version but not the factory original because it didn't do the looping either.

Ahhhh - I found the applicatins folder - it is not in there either. When I searchd for iPhoto I did get a message saying I may have to reinstall it as it is not compatible with this version of the iOS. I updated to this Mountain Lion version some timeback and only recently wanted to use the iPhoto app - so - maybe it was lost when I updated to the new iOS.
I will be very upset if I lose all my photos in it.

Most of the people I asked said they didn't know Thunderbird. One suggested that I reinstall T.bird but, said I also might lose everything on my PC. I would appreciate any help you can give. Lost the ability to view videos

My video iPod is less than 2 months old and I mainly use it to watch video while commuting. However, after updating iTunes and the iPod, I am now told that my iPod can no longer support video! What happened and how can I fix it? Shows that I was watching earlier are no longer on my iPod and I cannot move them to my iPod. Can anyone help?

Problem solved. After playing around with it for a bit, I discovered I needed to update QuickTime.

After updating to firefox 5, I have now lost the ability to download videos from the web as the realplayer browser record plug-in is now incompatible. Is ther another add-on I can install or, can I re-install version 4 and how??

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your problem is most certainly network related, you might try restarting your devices including your router as a temporary solution, but in the long term would be better correcting the problems with your network.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

Is there a way to have audio only come through the optic cable and video come only through HDMI on Apple TV 3rd Gen?

I currently have a digital optic cable hook up from my Apple TV 3 to my receiver and a HDMI hook up from my Apple TV 3to my flat screen. The audio is coming out of my TV speakers and receiver at the same time. I was wonder if there was a way to switch the audio output from the Apple TV 3 to the digital optic cable and only have video come out of the HDMI? I really only plan on using my receiver for the audio for my Apple TV 3. I know that I can just mute the TV but I wanted to know if there was a way to switch the feed. Thanks

There is an option on my TV but if I do that I lose all my audio on the TV. I have 3 HDMI ports on my Flat Screen. One is for my cable, one is for my PS3 (BTW the PS3 has an option to switch the audio feed so it will come out of the digital optic cable and leave video for the HDMI), and the last one is for my Apple TV 3. If I switch to external speakers I will lose my audio for the cable. I was hoping there was a way to switch the audio feed on the Apple TV 3.

Sluggish HD streaming from Mac to Apple TV 2nd Gen

just got a new Apple TV (updated to the last iOS) and I'm trying to stream some HD (720p) content from my computer to the Apple Tv. From time to time the movie slows down and it's pretty annoying. The content is fully cached (the white bar is full) so I don't think it's a connectivity problem.
Content was transcoded with Handbrake to H.264 1280x720 using the AppleTv2 preset.
What should I do?

If the update had an error, then check out the article below to restore your iPhone. It will walk you through putting your iPhone into recovery mode and then using iTunes on your computer to restore it. If you have a back up through iTunes or iCloud, then your can put that back up back on after you have completed the restore.
