Hi Bink Wills,
If you can't click Window and then iTunes to bring the Window to the Front, try suggestions in the following article.

  • My itunes has stopped opening

Hello all, this has been annoying me for the last few weeks, and so I thought I would see if anyone could help. I have a Windows 7 ACER laptop, and a week or so ago, itunes just stopped opening. I tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling both it and quick time, neither seemed to work. Every time i click to open it, it appears in Task Manager as itunes.exe *32 and then disappears after about 15 seconds. It is really annoying as i can't update my ipod or ipad with songs or apps. If anyone can help, i'd really appreciate it.

Help!  My iTunes keeps saying that it cannot open and gives me this error:

    Hi Shawn and Jason,
I have the same problem. One workaround is to clean your disk before running LiveCycledesigner. After you have cleaned up your disk LiveCycleDesigner will start a few times and you can work with it.
It is an Vista problem. LiveCycleDesigner 8.1 which is just released had fixed the problem so you can also download 8.1

  • TS4062 when i connect my new ipad to my computer and open itunes - it's telling me that the device can not open IPAD because it needs Itunes version 10.5 - but i can't seem to find out or download the newest version of itunes on my ipad.  Any ideas?

My computer is not reading my new IPAD in ITunes.  It's saying i need itunes, 10.5 or higher - but i can't seem to update my itunes on the IPAD - any ideas?

10.5 is NOT software for your ipad.  It is the itunes software for your computer.

  • ITunes not working on my computer each time open iTunes appear a window " iTunes has stopped working close the program "

Hi, I have a problem with iTunes on my computer each time when try open iTunes appear a window " iTunes has stopped working... close a program " someone can help me how fix it.

See HT203206: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Just upgraded to 10.7 - cannot play movies or TV programs - iTunes freezes and Windows states iTunes has stopped working and kicks me out - play audio OK, store and synching to devices OK.

Running Windows Vista Home Premium - Service Pack2
iTunes has always worked beautifully - opened it yesterday and said upgrade was available so I did and upgrade seemed to be successful - no errors and program launches and all my music, TV programs, Movies, etc, were there. Audio works well.  Tonight I tried to play a movie and got the Windows iTunes has stopped working and searching for solution (which there is none) and closing the warning box closes iTunes.  iTunes used to launch a "separate" black window for my movies/TV - I seemed to get  a black background before everything freezes.  Not happy.  Thanks for any help - I tried to upgrade quicktime just to make sure it wasn't lagging behind the iTunes upgrade but that didn't help.

Let's try the following user tip with that:

Before in "Fault Module Name" it said something like "Stackhash error" but that went away after i properly installed quick time player. I've tried many different things i read online to fix it like: Uninstalling and reinstalling, manually removing my entire library, and creating another user in the control panel then trying to run iTunes with no success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Let me know if you need any other information.

  • Itunes has stopped working during optimizing

I am running iTunes 10.4.1.10 and syncing to an iPhone 4.  Syncing used to work, but all of a sudden after backing up and copting apps during Optimizing 1 of 5, I get "Itunes has stopped working"  then need to click which ends iTunes.  Ideas?

Check this thread out -> itunes has stopped working...here are the problem reports:
Try unchecking the Include videos option in iTunes, under Photos. You'll click the iPhone on the left side of iTunes, then click Photos across the top of iTunes to see the option.
You can always import the videos into iTunes and then sync them to the iPhone using the TV Shows or Movies tab.

  • How do i get rid of the error itunes has stopped working

I'm trying to restore my iPhone 4s using a restore point on my desktop but about half way into the restore it stops and says that itunes has stopped working?

  • ITunes has stopped working (during sync with ipod)

This seems to be a popular problem with varied solutions -- miss my music! Hoping for help.
When I try to sync my iPod to iTunes it gets a few tunes onto the iPod then it crashes with a Windows (Vista) popup saying that "iTunes has stopped working".
I reset the iPod to factory settings, same results.
I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it, no help.
If I ask iTunes to not automatically sync, and create just one playlist and add a few tunes to it, I can get it to load about 10-20 more songs every other time or so but this is going to be painful with thousands of songs to go.
I understand from reading other posts that I may be asked to paste in information from an error log but I don't know how to get to that log.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Ah, I found this, this time, when the error popped up. Is this what's needed to figure it out?

  • ITunes has stopped responding ..  CD Import.  ITunes 9

    itunes has stopped working.
Every time i place a music cd in the dvd rom and it starts to load
    itunes stops working.
i remove the cd and launch itunes again and it works fine
as soon as i insert a cd it stops again, and its any cd
this has only happened since itunes 9
anyone eles having the same problem

Same problem. itunes will open fine, and library will show. However, as soon as I insert a CD to transfer to itunes, I also get "itunes has stopped working" and it shuts down. I restored to a date previous to 9 download. itunes would not work--something about quicktime. So I installed the version 8.2 for vista, however, then it would not recognize the library since it was now in a later version. So I downloaded 9, and, of course, it's back to the orginal problem. Afraid to even try syncing my ipod. I previously had opened another user account on the same pc. I installed itunes on it, and everything works fine other than the fact my library is on the other user account. Any thoughts??

  • "iTunes has stopped working" when importing

Fresh Windows 7 install, fresh iTunes 10 install... iTunes sees and adds songs from the "Automatically import" folder... then after restart, it starts to perform the "Determining gapless playback information" process... usually gets somewhere between 400 and 800 songs in and craps out with an "iTunes has stopped working".
I searched on this error and found advice to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and Quicktime... that didn't help. I then removed all the songs to a different folder and started re-adding them a dozen or so folders at a time (there are several thousand folders holding about 40,000 songs, in total, so I have to do it in fairly large chunks, or it will take for-freakin-ever).
It worked fine for a while, but at some point started with the crashing again. Every time it's a different song, stopping at a different point in the process. I've started removing the song it crashes on each time (or at least, the last song listed on the "gapless playback" line), but there are about 4000 songs in this batch, so it will take a really long time if I keep going this way.
Any other suggestions on how to sort this out??

Just in case anyone else is looking for a solution for this...
In my case, I determined it to be a file or files that iTunes was adding that was corrupted or in some other way causing iTunes to choke. It appears that there was no direct correlation to the "determining gapless" process... it was something in the "Automatically add" folder that it would hit and crash on. I basically removed everything to another folder, deleted the library, then moved stuff back to "Automatically add..." a handful at a time. Not 100% sure, but I'm pretty confident that it was actually old podcast files that were giving version 10 fits.
So if you've run into this and the other suggestions don't help, check within the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder for a "Podcasts" folder (may be two to three levels deep), and remove that...

I had the same problem. I'm using 64bit Windows7. This solution only partially worked for me. I still couldn't connect to the iTunes store.
The following solution worked for me:

  • ITunes has stopped working properly.

    iTunes has stopped working properly.

    Ok.
3 days ago, for no apparent reason my itunes stopped working.
This only happens after it has "synced" with the itunes store and prepares to upload remaining songs.
NOTHING has changed since then other than downloading latest itunes (11.1...whatever) which i was recommended to do after it stopped working.
    I am using windows 7
    Latest itunes version (for windows)
I have thousand of songs in icloud, which were uploading fine until 3 days ago.
Windows message reads something like: Itunes has stopped working properly, windows will now close the programme blah blah balh.
Bit annoyed.  Tried copying the dll file from QT that somebody mentioned earlier. Also tried "repairing" programme and re-downloading update.
    Not working still!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!
