Recently my movies and videos take forever to load and when they start playing it's for a second or two at a time. Have to hit the play icon over and over, did not use to be this way they work great on my desktop and iPod

Recently I have been experiencing my downloaded videos and online vids taking a long time to load and when they do, they will only play for a few seconds at best and you have to hit the play icon over and over. Never had this problem before with the 20 plus vids I have any suggestions would be appreciated

I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!!

Quicktime videos take forever to load on my system

Is it me alone, or does anyone have the same problem? I have a excellent system, and nothing takes forever to load on it, only Quicktime videos. The only reason why I use quicktime on my XP machine is to watch the videos that are downloaded from my Kodak camera memory card since the camera saves its video files as quicktime videos, but it takes forever for the video files to load after I have downloaded them and saved them into a folder on my system. When I want to go back and view the videos, the folder freezes until all the videos, even if it is only one video in the folder loads. Why is that? Other video files load immediatley from avi,wmv,to divx,etc.
Does anybody have a solution?

How did you create the account ? If you followed the instructions on this page when creating it then you should have got the 'none' option : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
e.g. on a computer's iTunes, if currently signed into an account then you logged out of it, and you then found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :

When I tried that process to create an account a few days ago I got the 'none' option on the payment details screen.
If you didn't use that process then you will need to create a new account using it (the instructions won't work with an existing account).

Calendar and reminders take forever to load with ios5

Since I upgraded my iPhone 4 to ios 5, my calendar and reminders take forever to load. Sometimes they crash rather than load. Any suggestions? This is extremely frustrating. By the time they load, I forget what I was going to write. Even once they open and I start entering data, they usually stall or crash during the time I am entering information (e.g. setting alerts), so it takes a very long time to enter each appointment or reminder. Help please!

I'm having the same issue. Ay fixes? Bought ATV today, music streams but videos don't and mirroring doesn't work either. Start mirror and severe lag then just drops. Been trying for couple hours. About ready to return it.

Quicktime X is incredibly slow and previews take forever to load

Quicktime takes forever to load an MKV (Perian installed), but also takes its sweet time with other longer vidoes. Finder Previews (off to the side in column view) take forever to load, with QTserver (I think that's the process) taking up huge cpu resources while doing so.
I want to love Quicktime, I really do. It looks great. But its performance is just utterly frustrating at times. I don't know what happened but I never had these problems with Quicktime 7.
Why the does Quicktime behave like this?

You don't have to use the X version of QuickTime on your Snow Leopard machine. You can use QuickTime Player 7.6.3 if you like.

Computer constantly crashes and now videos take forever to load and play.

When I watch videos, doesn't matter where they come from, my computer hangs like crazy and half the time, I just abandon the video. My computer also crashes constantly, yet everything is updated and in working order. I could be in the middle of reading an article of news and all of the sudden the whole system goes black and blank and then after about 30 seconds the whole computer goes off. I have cleaned it out with canned air and everything recommended. Can I go back to Windows 8 and abandon 8.1 altogether? I need help with these matters and in layman's terms please. Why does this keep happening? What viable solutions are there for all these problems? Nothing started happening until my computer automatically updated with 8.1 and its now been a year of nightmares endlessly. PLEASE HELP.

I am no expert but I think there is an issue with Windows updates for 8.1 and HP desktops, my mouse was dragging, sound was staticy with humming and crackling and video would freeze intermittenly . What finally fixed my machine was a full recovery and blocking windows updates. Now my machine is perfect other than the fact that the beats sounds terrible. The beats work fine now they just sound terrible.

The games on Facebook either take forever to load or when they do, they hang-up. What do I do?

I love playing Zuma Blitz and other games on Facebook, but it now takes literally forever to load the games and when they're finally loaded I play once and they hang-up. I have played using Internet Exployer 8 and also using Firefox 3.6 . I have also downloaded Adobe Flash Player as this was supposed to make playing the games better. Not so much. Now it is frustrating, waiting and waiting.... I have emptied the history cache, removed and reinstalled and still the problem exists.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

When I start up my computer, for a second, a small black icon pops up in the bottom left corner of my screen, and disappears again. What is it?

It appears as soon as I've logged in, and sometime when finder starts up. I'm wondering if this is a common thing to happen, or some malicious software starting up.
It appears to be square looking, but is only there for a second, so It's hard to see.

Could simply be the cursor appearing briefly before the graphical user interface shows up. Is it on a black backdrop, or on the grey Apple backdrop with the spinning cogwheel?

When I go to update software, I get a box that says there is an update with a smaller box over it that says there are no available updates. It did not used to do this.

If you can't install on top of the current installation then you need to delete or rename the current Firefox program folder to do a clean install.
It is possible that your security software is using or locking files, so you can try to temporarily disable that software during the installation.

My Atv2 is very slow movies and shows take forever to load it plays for a few minutes then pauses again. I thought if was a problem with my wireless router but I replaced it with a new airport extreme and the problem persists. Air play is just as slow.

My Atv2 is very slow with both AirPlay and rented and purchased content I spoke to apple rep and tried the things he suggested but the problem persists. Now it requires more lead time then the lenght of material being viewed. I haves broadband internet connection and airport extreme router so I don't think this should be a problem. Lately every time the unit goes to the screen saver an error message come up saying there was an error while loading content please try again later and you have to all over again. It is extremely frustrating. Any suggestions? What speed of transfer should I expect using AirPlay ?

TS2934 I rented a movie and it takes forever to load???

when I go to play it after the apple tv has been turned off it take 3 hours to load. So now I have waited 6 hours total to try to watch a movie. I only have 20 hours left.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

Videos take forever to load

Why does it take so long for videos to load on my macbook? what can I do to speed the process up?

How large are the videos? What protocol are you using? USB 2 is the slowest. Firewire is twice the speed of USB 2. Do you have eSata capability? Thunderbolt?

Radio times web page tv listings does not load the current day but usually about three days ago, radio times have said it is something to do with my settings not refreshing but all other web pages work fine?

I have to manually go into their date box and click it for the current date it will then show todays programmes. Even when I look at it one day if I open it the next day it flips back about three days again?
