Return it to the seller for a refund. Opening the iPhone - whether you did it or
previous owner opened it - voided the warranty and also made the iPhone
ineligible for an Out of Warranty reduced price replacement.

I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!

Take it to the Apple Store where you purchased it from. It is still under warranty. They will replace it if necessary.

Let me first say that I have No problem with accessing my iphone using my passcode!
1. I am having a problem purchasing app's with my new iphone 5s. I recently upgraded from the 3Gs to th 5s and now along with asking me to give my user password, but then it is asking me to continue and then varify my pay account info with a security code which was not required on my last phone and have know idea how get one or reset the old one (which I never had)?
2. My new iphone 5s is asking me for a voicemail passcode. I have not set up a voice mail and entered an initial ID, what should I do?2. you can reset the passcode by contacting your phone carrier. usually means you have a voicemail.

I recently purchased iphon 4s, installed i tunes on computer. When I connect iphone to computer, it does not recognize that it is connected. It states that it is syncing "step 2 of 6" and phone shows "syncing 2 of 4". But never syncs. I also turned wi-fi on as well.

Move your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527. You will also need to copy any calendar, contacts or photos you may be syncing with your computer to your new computer before syncing.

I would make an appointment with the Genious Bar at your local Apple store. Sounds like it could be a hardware problem if you have kept your iPhone wasn't in a hot environment when you got the overheat warning.

In case you are not aware, Mavericks requires a high speed broadband connection.

I have been using one apple ID for my family as it makes it easier to manage itunes purchases/rentals on all of our devices. Now that my kids are getting old and my wife has recently purchased an Iphone, I can see that I need to change my strategy. I plan to add a few more iphones to the family very soon. Yes. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy the music in settings on the phone.
Then tap on "purchased" in the iTunes app on the phone and download the music to your new iPhone. -

Requirements for WhatsApp are iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
