Recently purchased song asks for authorization

A recently purchased song requires authorization before playing. All other songs purchased at the iTunes store play fine; just this one song does not. If I follow the protocol I get the message that ' this computer is already authorized'. Tried several times, opened up the file in the Finder (Get info), to see if the account name appears correctly, but everything seems in order What to do? Anybody have an answer?

  • Last track on recently purchased album asks for authorisation, I give it, message states I've already authorised the computer.

    I've jut downloaded an album via itunes, the final track on it won't play. When I click on it I'm asked to authorise it. I give the correct password and ID but then am told the computer is already authorised. From what I can see the download works fine. I use my apple account only on this computer (though I have in the past used a previous computer, that hasn't been used to acccess any itunes account for some time).
    Any ideas?

    This can be a symptom of an incomplete download. Delete the current version of that track from your library then redownload it from your purchase history.

  • Asking for authorization

    I just purchased an album on itunes and when trying to play the songs it asks for authorization for each one. When I authorized one of the songs, it acknowledged it as a second computer. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to make itunes recognize that they are already authorized?

    I restarted itunes and now all is fine.

    it occurs with just some songs. I purchased 2 albums and only 1 song on each will play. the other ones get the authorization message.
    Okay. If only a couple of the tracks are throwing that message, that suggests that the tracks are damaged.
    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

    Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

    Set up as new, since it newer has been connected to iTunes. Your iPhone will remain on iTunes. I have 4 different devices on my iTunes with no problems.
    And regarding the sync - it will sync whatever you tell it to sync on iTunes.

    If you're syncing with a different iTunes library than the one you previously synced with, then there is no way around it. You're gonna loose the old data. The only way round it would be to make sure that all the music files on your iPhone is also in your iTunes library. If you still have access to the computer with the old library, you could copy the files on to an external harddrive, and then import them into your new iTunes library.
    If it is in fact the same library, then the music currently on your iphone, is also in your itunes library. Just make sure that the artists/albums/playlists, or whatever you sync contains these tracks, that you allready have on your phone and don't want deleted. What i do is, i create a playlist specifically for my iPhone, and i set it up to only sync with this playlist. Whenever i hear a track from my iTunes library or buy a new track that i want on my phone, i just drag it to this playlist and next time i synchronize, it's there without deleting anything else.

    you can then select Not In My Library and download anything you're missing from there.

    Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
    While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
    If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

    If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
    If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

    Authorization does not apply to iphones.  Authorization is for computers.

    If your computer is on one minute before it freezes, than you have one minute to secure your serial number.
    click the apple----->click about this Mac ------> click on version----> until you see the serial number.  You may have to do this a couple of times if it freezes before you have all the numbers.  A camera might help.
