  • I updated my 3rd Gen iPod Touch to 4.2.1 but now it won't access wi-fi.

I updated my 3rd Gen after restoring to factory settings, to the 4.2.1 softwre but now it won't even acess the wi-fi anymore. As in the wi-fi button has been disabled, or rather said, it became unavailable (aswell as the bluetooth button.) It became what people call a "gray" button? I'd really like some help on this, plese and thank you.

Try settings -- messages -- send & recieve and see if your email and phone number are in there and if there is only a check mark next to your email address.  If so just check off your phone number and try that.

  • I updated Adobe Flash on my Mac and now my solitaire app won't open.  No error message, just -600.

I updated Adobe Flash on my Mac and now my solitaire app won't open.  Message just says 'unable to open' -600.  I tried to reinstall Full Deck Solitaire, but the app store says it is already installed, so I can't do it that way.  What should I do?  There's nothing in Help that helps.

Please restart the computer and try again. If it won't restart in the usual way, force a shutdown by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds. Then press it again briefly to restart.

  • Need help updating a 3rd Gen iPod Touch....

I have a 3rd Gen iPod Touch running iOS4.1. I have an iMac G5 running OSX10.4.11. The iTunes version is 9.2.1. When I connect my iPod to my iMac and click 'Update' in iTunes it simply states 'You have the latest version of iTunes 9.2.1'. How can I update my iPod?
    Thanks in advance.

You need to update the OSX on your computer. Going higher that 4.1 requires iTunes 10 or higher. iTunes 10 requires OSX 10.5.8 or higher.

  • HT5457 why dont you update the 3rd gen ipod touch to iOS 6?

I have a 3rd gen ipod touch and don't have the money to get a newer ipod so why cant you make iOS 6 available for 3rd gen ipod touches?

    1) You are not talking to Apple here.  We are users just like you.
    2) The 3rd gen iPod does not have the hardware to be able to use iOS 6
    3) As of now, almost all available apps will also run on iOS 5.

  • If I upgrade my 3rd gen iPod touch to iOS 5, will I lose all my content (photos, videos, notes, safari cookies, etc)?

So I've had my 3rd gen iPod for almost 5 years now, and I'm tired of all the "This applications requires iOS 5.0 or later; you must update to iOS 5.0 in order to download and use this application" notifications, and since I don't have enough money to buy the new iPod, I'm finally upgrading to iOS 5.1.1, the highest I can upgrade this generation.  In the event that it doesn't save my photos (Camera roll and the pictures I put on from my old computer that I don't have anywhere else), I have been uploading them one by one to Dropbox, but this is a pain.  Basically, I'm wondering: if I backup my iPod before upgrading the software, will it reapply all my settings and content after iOS 5 is installed?  I've begun the process before and have gotten the notification that all content will be deleted.  I don't have all this content on my computer, either, because the photo albums on my iPod were folders of pictures on my old computer that I lost all the files from.  I can't just put these back on from my computer if it deletes them and doesn't save a backup copy.  But does it save all the settings in a backup copy and reapply them?  That's what I want to know.  Do I have to keep bothering with Dropbox, or can I just go for it and know everything will be fine?

Only if something goes astray, which happens some times.
    - Backup the iTunes
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Make sure that all synced media like apps and music are in your iTunes library and any photos synced to the iPod are also on your computer. Synced media is not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes
    Then update vai Tunes
iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 or later
You need iTunes 10.5 or later on the computer.

  • I "updated" my phone and now half my apps won't open. What can I do?

I "updated" my phone and since then half of my apps won't open. I was able to update some and now they open but can't get to the rest.

Make sure you're connected to WiFi and tap the apps to continue the download.
If that doesnt work, try re-setting the device.
    Hope this helps!

  • I have a 3rd generation ipod touch. I have attempted at least 3 times to update itunes to 10.10.54. It seemed to work, but then, i am unable to update my 3rd gen ipod touch. It says my version of 4.21. I know that there are higher versions. I have windows

    i ant update it. HELP

Are you sure it is really a 3G iPod?  If it is 8 or 16 GB it is a 2G iPod. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods.  A 32 GB one can be either. To identify yours:

  • Itunes asks to update my brand new ipod touch.. I do and now it wont work at all!!!

just got my brand new ipod touch ... working good then itunes wants to update so I do now my ipod doesnt work at all! all I get is the apple and a line on face and wont even turn off!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I recently updated my 5th gen ipod touch to the newest operating system release. Since then, I can no longer play back voice recordings I have stored or since recorded in my Voice Memo app. How can I access my stored recordings?

A few days ago, I updated the OS. Since then, I have been unable to access saved recordings on my Voice Memo app. Additionally, recordings I have made since then have been made unavailable to me as well. All of the recordings are listed, but will not play when I select the play option, nor will the app allow me to edit them if I wanted to change their names, or something. There is nothing noticably wrong with the touch screen itself, meaning, there are no dead spots that do not respond to touch. I cannot figure out why the memos will not play.
Is this a glitch with the new update? If so, how do I revert back to the OS setting I had prior? Preferrably, I would like to find a fix for this situation in the condition my device is now without having to adjust the OS settings.

Can you record and play new VMs?
Can you sync them to your computer?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from a back that was made then the VM played back. See:

My iPod was full charge, I was playing some obnoxious band, all of the sudden it stopped playing, the screen was gray.  I undocked it, and tried to reset it.  Now it won't turn on.  I've had it plugged into both the wall and the computer.  Any suggestions???

  • 3rd Gen Ipod touch 5.1.1 update grays out wifi

After updating my 3rd Gen ipod touch, I can no longer use wifi. The wifi box is grayed out. I have reset the network connection settings, and have reset the ipod back to factory settings and still nothing. I see that this has happened to lots of iphone users but havent heard much about ipod touch. I wont even think about updating my iphone until a bug fix comes out. So far Apple is saying it is a hardware issue, but theres no way. No way thousands of people are having a hardware issue just after a software update. Can anyone help?
Also now only about 20% of my songs will load on the ipod and the screen is frozen. Great

iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
